507,987. Building-construction; slabs. CLAYETTE, H. Jan. 5, 1938, No. 37640. Divided out of 507,929. [Classes 20 (iii), 20 (iv), and 87 (i)] A building is constructed by erecting pillars formed of superimposed pre-cast grooved blocks 10, fitting pre-cast slabs or panels 14 in the grooves 11 of the blocks, filling the space between the panels to a pre-determined height with a material such as sand or soil, and casting stringers 23 on the filling and between the panels. The blocks 10 may be made of concrete and may be hollowed out at 12 for the reception of a suitable filling, such as reinforced concrete. The panels are of the construction described in Specification 507,929, and some of these panels may have apertures 20 through which floor joists 25 are passed. The stringers are reinforced by rods which pass through apertures in the blocks 10. For the construction of windows; the superposition of the panels 14 is interrupted and members 26 having grooves 27, 28, are placed as shown in Fig. 9, to fit over the panels. The members 26 are apertured for the reception of blocks 10 which are employed to form the vertical sides of the window. Blocks 10 having a concrete filling reinforced by rods 30 are also used to form the lintels.
