Abstract

267,223. Glover, C. W. Dec. 10, 1925. Walls; reinforced-concrete columns.-Walls consisting of concrete slabs of storey height engaging grooved concrete or other columns are formed by erecting the preformed columns 1 approximately in position, casting the wall sections 4 on the floor or ground in moulds adjacent to the columns, then turning the sections up between the columns and adjusting the columns in engagement. The sections may be cast on a layer of canvas which is subsequently stripped off. Porous or aerated concrete is preferably used for the wall sections. The columns are formed with bases 2 projecting inwards, and are reinforced by bars 10, 11, 12, 13. Brackets 17 may be formed on the columns to facilitate further extensions. For a second storey, a string course is cast in situ over the wall or may be precast, the upper wall sections are erected, and the upper columns are cast in situ.
