Abstract
469,317. Walls and floors of buildings. MORRISON, C. B. Jan. 17, 1936, No. 1516. [Class 20 (iv)] A house is formed with the outside walls constructed of hollow reinforced-concrete sections J of the kind described in Specification 418,908, having interlocking teeth on the side edges, and the reinforced-concrete sections 7B, 8B of the first floor are supported like a table on legs G which (1) are substantially independent of the walls so as to take the strain off the latter, (2) rest upon the ground floor, and (3) are disposed inside the building. The first floor sections 7B, 8B are cemented to metal or reinforced-concrete girders A on which they rest, and these girders are supported on the reinforced-concrete legs G. The legs, which may be of rectangular, circular or triangular cross-section, are keyed to the girders A by steel bars cemented in holes in the adjacent members. The legs G, which are held in place by metal straps cast onto the wall sections J, rest upon the ground floor sections 3B, 4B supported on the foundations. The foundations are formed of hollow reinforced-concrete sections H having a pinned dovetailed engagement at corners.
