Abstract
Micropartícula de liberación prolongada y método para su preparación. Se describe un método para preparar micropartículas de liberación prolongada que liberan una sustancia fisiológicamente activa durante periodos de tiempo prolongados. Se prepara las micropartículas de liberación prolongada mediante un proceso multiemulsión. Se disuelve o se dispersa una droga de interés en cada uno de por lo menos dos aceites para dar al menos dos fases o emulsiones de aceites primarias. Cada fase o emulsión de aceite contiene un polímero biodegradable. Las dos fases o emulsiones de aceite primarias por lo menos se dispersan en una fase acuosa, de manera síncrona o en sucesión. De la solución dispersada de la droga se retira los disolventes orgánicos para producir micropartículas. Por consiguiente, las drogas tales como hormonas liberadoras de hormona luteinizante pueden liberarse continuamente in vivo durante periodos de tiempo prolongados, consiguiéndose una mejora en el efecto terapéutico.
