Definitions

  • the invention relates to a wet cleaning device, in particular a wet mopping device, with a cleaning roller which can be rotated about a roller axis and has a cleaning covering with fibers having free ends.
  • the invention relates to a method for operating a damp cleaning device, in particular a damp mopping device, liquid and/or dirt being removed during a regeneration operation from a cleaning roller of the damp cleaning device rotating about a roller axis.
  • the DE 102 29 611 B3 discloses, for example, a wet cleaning device with a wiping body that can be driven in rotation about an axis of rotation, in which a cleaning liquid is taken from a storage tank and sprayed onto the surface of the wiping body by means of spray nozzles arranged in the direction of the axis of rotation of the wiping body.
  • the wiping body moistened in this way is guided over a surface to be cleaned during a wiping operation, with the wiping body picking up dirt from the surface to be cleaned.
  • the wiping body is increasingly covered with dirt that regeneration of the wiping body becomes necessary.
  • the wiper body is lifted off the surface to be cleaned, surrounded by a housing and sprayed with unused cleaning fluid.
  • the wiping body rotates so that cleaning liquid and/or dirt is expelled from the wiping body and impinges on the inside of the housing and is transferred to a holding tank.
  • the disadvantage here is that during the regeneration operation a large amount of cleaning liquid is required for moistening or flushing the wiping body in order to be able to throw off dirt that has accumulated on the wiping body by the centrifugal forces generated during the rotation of the wiping body.
  • a wet cleaning device with a cleaning roller which can be rotated about a roller axis and which has a cleaning covering with fibers having free ends, and a method for operating a wet cleaning device, liquid and/or dirt being removed during a regeneration operation from a cleaning roller of the wet cleaning device rotating about a roller axis.
  • a wet cleaning device which has a braking element to support the removal of liquid and/or dirt from the cleaning roller, which braking element has an impact edge in relation to the roller axis of the cleaning roller, which during a regeneration operation extends so far in radial overlap the fibers of the cleaning covering is arranged in such a way that the free ends of the mechanically unloaded fibers protrude in the radial direction outwards beyond the impact edge.
  • the cleaning coating of the cleaning roller is no longer regenerated exclusively by throwing off liquid and/or dirt from the fibers of the cleaning coating that protrude radially during the rotation of the cleaning roller.
  • the cleaning roller in particular the fibers of the cleaning coating, is now assigned a braking element, which is designed to brake the fibers of the roller coating rotating about the roller axis, so that they are abruptly braked by the braking element and bend over the impact edge of the braking element.
  • the mass inertia of the abruptly decelerated fibers creates a whiplash effect, in which liquid and dirt adhering between the fibers of the cleaning pad are torn out. Due to the new center of rotation on the braking element, the free ends of the fibers bent over the impact edge of the braking element can achieve accelerations which are more than seven times greater than the acceleration achieved solely due to the rotation around the roller axis.
  • the braking element advantageously has an extent such that there is a distance between the braking element and the roots of the fibers on the one hand and a distance between the free ends of the fibers extending in the radial direction and on the other hand the braking element. This ensures that the free ends of the fibers have a freedom of movement, on the one hand, to buckle over the impact edge when they hit the impact edge of the braking element and, on the other hand, to be pulled off the impact edge in the opposite direction as the cleaning roller rotates in the opposite direction and between to be passed through the cleaning roller and the braking element.
  • the braking element is mounted on the wet cleaning device so that it can be displaced relative to the cleaning roller.
  • the braking element is usually only required during the regeneration operation of the cleaning roller. It is therefore advisable to remove the braking element from the cleaning coating of the cleaning roller before performing a wiping operation, that is to say to move it away from the cleaning roller.
  • the braking element is advantageously arranged displaceably on the wet cleaning device, so that it can be pivoted toward the cleaning roller and pivoted away from the cleaning roller, for example.
  • a swivel arm can be provided accordingly for this purpose.
  • the braking element is arranged immovably on the wet cleaning device during the regeneration operation.
  • the braking element is stationary relative to the wet cleaning device, while the fibers of the cleaning covering are moved against the braking element by the rotation of the cleaning roller.
  • the braking element is moved during the regeneration operation in a direction which is opposite to the direction of rotation. As a result, the speed at which the fibers of the cleaning covering collide with the braking element can be additionally increased.
  • the braking element is designed essentially in the form of a rod, in particular is a wire.
  • Rod-shaped means the shape of an object that has a very large length relative to its width or diameter.
  • the cross section the rod shape can be round, angular, square, oval, polygonal or the like.
  • a braking element that is very advantageous for the invention is, for example, a wire which is very long in relation to its diameter. Due to the rod shape, the fibers of the cleaning covering can be bent over with their free ends around the impact edge of the braking element, and on the other hand, as the cleaning roller continues to rotate, they can be pulled away from the impact edge and passed between the braking element and the cleaning roller.
  • the braking element has a convexly curved surface at least in the area of the impact edge, so that the fibers can be guided as gently as possible around the braking element or the impact edge, and last but not least the service life of the cleaning pad is increased.
  • the braking element has a height of 0.3 mm to 5 mm, preferably a height of 0.5 mm to 2 mm, in relation to a radial direction relative to the roll axis and/or parallel to the roll axis along the entire Length of the cleaning pad is arranged.
  • the height of the braking element together with the length parallel to the roll axis, defines the contact area in which the fibers impinge on the braking element, ie the area which opposes the rotating fibers.
  • the height of the braking element is less than the length of the mechanically unloaded fibers, so that the free ends of the fibers project beyond the braking element, ie project beyond the impact edge, and can bend.
  • the height of the braking element is equal to the diameter of the wire, regardless of the distance between the braking element, ie the wire, and the roots of the fibers in the cleaning coating.
  • the height of the braking element corresponds to approximately one quarter to one half the length of the fibers. If the fibers have a free length of 5 mm, for example, the height of the braking element should preferably be between 1 mm and 2.5 mm. In the case of a braking element designed as a wire, this would then be the diameter. The distance between the braking element and the roots of the fibers should be at least equal to the diameter of the fibers so that the fibers can be pulled under the braking element. With regard to the length of the braking element parallel to the longitudinal extension of the roller axis, it is recommended that the braking element is formed over the entire length of the cleaning coating of the cleaning roller, so that regeneration of the entire peripheral surface of the cleaning coating is possible.
  • the distance between the braking element and the cleaning pad along the length of the cleaning roller may be advisable to vary the distance between the braking element and the cleaning pad along the length of the cleaning roller, for example to create a larger or smaller distance which ensures a stronger or weaker regeneration effect in individual length sections of the cleaning pad.
  • an expected dirt and/or moisture distribution along the length of the cleaning pad can be taken into account here.
  • the impact edge of the braking element is arranged approximately in the range of a quarter to half a fiber length of the fibers relative to the mechanically unloaded fibers pointing in the radial direction.
  • the fibers can be folded over halfway up the impact edge, so that at least half their length is accelerated around the new center of rotation and adhering liquid and/or dirt is optimally thrown off.
  • the impact edge in particular the side of the impact edge pointing radially outward, is on one Length from 1.25 mm to 2.5 mm calculated from the location of the roots of the fibers, which are anchored, for example, in a basic matrix of the cleaning layer.
  • the cleaning covering is advantageously a textile covering, in particular one in which the fibers can stand up radially outwards as a result of the action of centrifugal force.
  • a microfiber textile covering is recommended, the fineness of the individual fibers of which ensures that the fibers are particularly flexible, so that the fibers can be twisted over the impact edge in a particularly simple manner.
  • the cleaning roller has a roller diameter of 40 mm to 50 mm, in particular approximately 45 mm.
  • a cleaning roller with such a roller diameter can, for example, not only be used exclusively in hand-held wet cleaning devices, but also advantageously in cleaning robots, which should be as small or light as possible and should carry out cleaning with as little water volume as possible.
  • wet cleaning devices are understood to be all such devices which can exclusively or inter alia carry out wet cleaning. These include, on the one hand, the hand-held and automatically movable wet cleaning devices, in particular also wet cleaning robots. In addition, however, combined dry and wet cleaning devices are also wet cleaning devices within the meaning of the invention. In addition, in addition to the usual floor cleaning devices for a floor, this also includes wet cleaning devices for cleaning above-floor surfaces, and also, for example, wet cleaning devices for cleaning window surfaces.
  • a method for operating a wet cleaning device in particular a wet mopping device, is also proposed, in which liquid and/or dirt are removed during a regeneration operation by a cleaning roller of the wet cleaning device rotating about a roller axis, with a braking element for the regeneration operation so far in a radial direction Coverage to fibers of a cleaning covering of the cleaning roller is arranged so that an impact edge of the braking element protrudes so far between the fibers that the free ends of the fibers are folded over the impact edge during rotation of the cleaning roller.
  • the braking element is shifted between the fibers of the cleaning pad in such a way that a free end area of the fibers can bend over the impact edge of the braking element.
  • the fibers are abruptly slowed down and lose dirt adhering to the free fiber ends as a result of the whiplash effect that follows.
  • a better cleaning effect with the same amount of liquid or a smaller amount of liquid with the same good cleaning result is required for the regeneration process, which is particularly advantageous with regard to automatically mobile wet cleaning devices that should not carry a large water tank with them.
  • the cleaning roller rotates during the regeneration operation at a speed of 1500 rpm to 6000 rpm, in particular at a speed of 4000 rpm to 5000 rpm becomes.
  • speeds of up to 10,000 revolutions per minute are necessary for a cleaning roller with a roller diameter of, for example, 45 mm in order to achieve an optimal cleaning result.
  • FIG. 1 shows a wet cleaning device 1, which is designed here as a hand-held wet cleaning device 1 with a base unit 9 and an attachment 10.
  • the attachment 10 is held on the base unit 9 in a detachable manner.
  • the base device 9 also has a handle 11, which is designed to be telescopic here, for example, so that a user of the wet cleaning device 1 can adjust the length of the handle 11 to his body size.
  • a handle 12 is arranged on the handle 11, by means of which the user can guide the wet cleaning device 1 during normal wiping operation, ie can push it over a surface to be cleaned.
  • the user usually guides the wet cleaning device 1 in opposite directions of movement b over the surface to be cleaned. He alternately pushes the wet cleaning device 1 away from him or pulls it towards himself.
  • the attachment 10 has a housing in which a cleaning roller 3 is held such that it can rotate about a roller axis 2 .
  • a filler neck 13 through which liquid can be filled into a liquid tank (not shown) is arranged on the housing. The liquid stored in the liquid tank is used to moisten the cleaning roller 3.
  • the rotatably mounted cleaning roller 3 rotates about the roller axis 2 during the wiping operation, so that the peripheral surface of the cleaning roller 3 continuously rolls on a surface to be cleaned.
  • the cleaning roller 3 is usually equipped with a cleaning pad 4 (in figure 1 not shown) wrapped, optionally with the interposition of an additional fluid-storing sponge body.
  • the cleaning covering 4 is here, for example, a textile cleaning cloth, between the fibers 6 of which liquid and/or dirt can be absorbed.
  • FIG 2 shows a sketch of a cross section of the cleaning roller 3 with a cleaning covering 4.
  • the cleaning covering 4 is formed with a multiplicity of fibers 6, of which, however—for the sake of clarity—only individual fibers 6 are sketched here.
  • the free ends 8 of the fibers 6 form a circumferential lateral surface of the cleaning pad 4.
  • the in figure 3 The fibers 6 sketched are all mechanically unloaded at the time shown, that is to say they are straight in the radial direction in relation to the roller axis 2 and are stretched outwards. In this mechanically unloaded state, the fibers 6 each have a length L of 8 mm here, for example.
  • the cleaning roller has a diameter of approximately 33 mm. However, the dimensions given are only examples. Of course, other lengths, diameters and proportions are also possible.
  • a braking element 5 which is a wire aligned parallel to the roller axis 2 , engages between the fibers 6 of the cleaning covering 4 .
  • this braking element 5 is shown as a point.
  • the braking element 5 is arranged approximately at half the height of the fiber length L of the fibers 6 .
  • the height z of the braking element 5 itself is equal to the diameter of the wire and is approximately 1 mm.
  • the impact edge 7 opposing the fibers 6 during rotation is convex in shape due to the surface curvature of the wire.
  • figure 2 shows an example of a fiber 6 from the multiplicity of fibers 6, which in the illustration relates to the direction of rotation r of the cleaning roller 3 (clockwise rotation) is arranged to the left of the braking element 5. In this state, the fiber 6 is still mechanically unloaded and stretched since it is not yet in contact with the braking element 5 .
  • figure 3 shows starting from the figure 2 a later point in time during the rotation of the cleaning roller 3, at which the fiber 6 has hit the impact edge 7 of the braking element 5 and its free end 8 has buckled over the impact edge 7, namely in the direction of rotation r of the cleaning roller 3.
  • the free end 8 of the fiber 6 is bent like a whip around the braking element 5, as a result of which liquid and/or dirt adhering to the fiber 6 is thrown off.
  • the acceleration resulting from the whiplash effect is here, for example, seven times as great as the acceleration of the fiber 6, which occurs without the braking element 5 solely due to the centrifugal force acting on the fiber 6 during the rotation of the cleaning roller 3.
  • figure 4 shows one opposite figure 3 later point in time as the rotation of the cleaning roller 3 continues.
  • the fiber 6 adjusts due to its inherent rigidity up again. In this case, any residual liquid or dirt still adhering to the fiber 6 can be spun off by the fiber 6 being upright.
  • FIG 6 is within the cleaning pad 4 on the cleaning roller 3.
  • the grid spacing of the illustrated diagram (0.0 to 3.0) on the x-axis and the y-axis are chosen here arbitrarily. These are chosen here, for example, for a fiber 6 with a fiber length L of 3.0 mm.
  • the filament 6 is not yet in contact with the deceleration element 5.
  • the fiber 6 meets as in figure 3 shown on the braking element 5 and is bent over the impact edge 7 away.
  • the free end 8 of the fiber 6 swings like a whip over the impact edge 7 to the right, but at the same time the distance between the free end 8 and the root of the fiber 6 (coordinate origin 0.0) is reduced. this is in figure 5 described by the curved course of the locus curve.
  • t x there is a change of sign in relation to the x-coordinate of the current location of the free end 8 of the fiber 6, which corresponds to a point in time of the rotation of the cleaning roller 3 at which the deceleration of the fiber 6 by the braking element 5 is complete .
  • the free end 8 of the fiber 6 is pulled around the braking element 5 against the direction of rotation r of the cleaning roller 3, since the fiber 6 is as in FIG figure 4 shown, is passed between the braking element 5 and the cleaning roller 3 .
