Definitions
- the present invention relates to a floor covering which is composed of panels according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such floor coverings exist in a wide variety of embodiments.
- panels with a core of wood-based materials such as MDF or HDF are widespread.
- a decorative layer On the core is usually a decorative layer, which is modeled, for example, a wooden look.
- the decorative layer in turn is covered by a transparent wear layer which is resistant to wear and can consist of a plastic or a resin.
- the underside of the panel is formed by a Schmidtzug Mrs to prevent deformation of the panel body.
- floor panels with a core of a plastic material such as PU (polyurethane) or PVC (polyvinyl chloride) exist.
- PU polyurethane
- PVC polyvinyl chloride
- these plastic panels usually have on their upper side at least one cover layer, which covers the top of the core.
- the connection of two panels is usually done by locking profiles on the side edges, which are each complementary to each other and positively engage with each other, in the manner of a tongue and groove connection. In this way, adjacent panels can be held together so that their tops shoot each other tightly and without gaps.
- Object of the present invention is therefore to provide a floor covering of panels with a plastic core, which imitates a tile look with joints realistic, as it is possible with the previously known techniques.
- Another object of the invention is to create the replica of the joint optics in the most efficient way possible without additional operations such as printing or pressing.
- one side edge of the panel, which adjoins the adjacent panel is provided on its upper side with a cutout which extends along the edge. Over the width of the cutout, the visible covering layer of the panel is completely removed, to such an extent that the ground of the cutout is formed by the core material, that is to say by the plastic which forms the core. Between two connected panels thus forms a groove, which represents the joint.
- This groove can be made considerably deeper by milling than by the known pressing techniques.
- the contrast between the core material at the bottom of the cutout and the adjacent cover layer which replicates the tile surface can contribute to the realistic impression.
- This cover layer may in particular be a decorative layer, which in turn is laminated by a durable transparent wear layer, as mentioned above.
- the shape of the cutout can reproduce the haptic impression of the joint as desired.
- the joint according to the invention can be formed by a joint cutter on the side edge, without the locking profile being weakened. It is possible in particular the formation of locking profile and cutout for the joint in a single operation, for example by a combination tool.
- the reason of the cutout forms a horizontal bottom of the joint.
- the joint has a substantially rectangular cross-section with approximately vertical side walls.
- the upper edges of the side walls of the joint are provided with bevels. These form chamfers, which avoid a sharp-edged transition between the top of the panel and the joint.
- the bottom of the joint is sealed by a sealing coating.
- This can be water-repellent, so that penetration of water into the core of the panel is prevented.
- the seal coating can be dirt-repellent. If the seal is transparent, the bottom of the joint remains visible. If desired, the seal coating can be colored to represent a contrast to the decorative layer.
- An inventive method for producing a panel of such a floor covering is characterized in that the locking profile provided on the side edge as well as the cut-out thereon is formed by milling, and that the locking profile and the cutout are produced simultaneously in a single step.
- the chamfer at the cutout is produced simultaneously with the locking profile and the cutout in a single operation.
- the floor covering 10 in Fig. 1 is composed of a number of adjacent panels, of which two panels, namely a left panel 12 and a right panel 14, in the connected state in Fig. 1 are shown.
- the two panels 12, 14 are provided at their interconnected side edges 16, 18 with interlocking interlocking locking profiles 20, 22, which will be described in more detail below.
- the interlocking of these locking profiles 20, 22 prevents the panels 12, 14 from drifting apart.
- the panels 12, 14 of the floor covering 10 have the same layer structure and each comprise a core 24 made of a plastic material such as polyurethane (PU) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Usually, this core 24 still contains fillers. He has due to the material properties of the plastic used to a certain elasticity. To ensure dimensional stability of the core 24, a glass fiber mat 26 is drawn in at the upper region of its center, which extends horizontally through the core 24.
- PU polyurethane
- PVC polyvinyl chloride
- the core 24 is laminated by two cover layers. These are an upper wear layer 28 of a durable transparent Plastic and a decorative layer 30 below the wear layer 28, which is formed from a printed decorative film that can represent a wood or tile look. Due to the transparency of the wear layer 28, the decoration on the top of the panels 12, 14 is thus visible.
- an upper wear layer 28 of a durable transparent Plastic and a decorative layer 30 below the wear layer 28, which is formed from a printed decorative film that can represent a wood or tile look. Due to the transparency of the wear layer 28, the decoration on the top of the panels 12, 14 is thus visible.
- the core 24 may be provided with a counteracting layer 32 which prevents warping of the panels 12, 14.
- the lamination structure of the panels 12, 14, which comprises a wear layer 28, a decorative layer 30, a core 24 with a glass fiber mat 26, and a backing layer 32, is essentially known and not the subject of the present invention.
- the left panel 12 carries at its side edge 16 a female profile 20, with a lower horizontal projection 34 which is approximately trough-shaped and formed on its right panel 14 facing the outer edge 36 with a raised ridge having a receiving portion 38 on the projection 34 with a flat, horizontal bottom 40 and oblique, slightly curved outer walls 42, 44 limited.
- this receiving area 38 is a projection 46 of the complementary profile 22 of the right panel 14 a.
- This projection 46 has an approximately trapezoidal cross-section, with a flat, horizontal underside 48 for resting on the bottom 40 of the receiving area 38, and bevelled, curved side walls 50, 52, the shape of which approximately correspond to the side walls 42, 44 of the receiving area 38.
- a complementary projection 54 at the top of the side edge 16 of the left panel 12 a. This projection 54 limits the receiving space 38 partially upwards and is partially in the assembled state of the panels 12, 14 on the projection 46 of the right panel 14.
- the right panel 14 is provided on its upper side at the left edge of the panel 12 facing outer edge 18 with a cutout 60.
- This cutout 60 has a flat, horizontal bottom 62 and a vertical side wall 64 on the right panel 14 side facing. Overall, the cutout 60 has an approximately rectangular cross section, as in Fig. 1 can be clearly seen.
- the cutout 60 is deeper than the thickness of the wear layer 28 and the decorative layer 30, so that the wear layer 28 and the decorative layer 30 are completely removed over the entire width of the cutout 60 away from the side edge 18 of the right panel 14 and the material of the core 24th At the top of the panel 14, the core 24 is thus visible within the joint and forms a clear contrast to the remaining intact surface of the panels 12, 14, which is laminated by the decorative layer 30 and the wear layer 28.
- the projection 54 of the left panel 12 directly adjoins the cutout 60 and closes it off laterally, so that the blunt, vertical outside 66 of the projection 54 forms a vertical wall, which together with the opposite wall 64 of the right panel 14 and the bottom 62 defines a groove with a rectangular cross-section.
- This groove represents a gap at the top of the panels 12, 14 between the surface areas of these panels.
- the cutout 60 thus creates a gap between the panels 12, 14 without the panels 12, 14 being printed or pressed on their upper side have to.
- the joint impression is enhanced by the contrast of the different materials of the core 24 at the bottom 62 of the joint and the decorative layer 30.
- the material of the core 24 may be similar to a conventional sealant of a true joint between stone tiles. Together with a stone decor of the wear layer 30, this results in a realistic impression of a floor covering made of floor tiles. Due to their depth, the joint is also tactile to the touch.
- the cutout 60 may be sealed to the bottom 62 with a seal coating, which is not shown in detail in the figures.
- This seal coating can also be dirt-repellent or executed in color.
- FIG. 3 another panel 112 is shown, which is provided with a different locking profile.
- This locking profile 120 includes, similar to the locking profile 20 of the left panel 12 in Fig. 1 , a lower projection 134, which has an approximately trough-shaped receptacle 138 on its upper side.
- This receiving area 138 has an approximately trapezoidal cross-section and is bounded towards the end of the projection 134 by a raised area 136.
- Above the receiving region 138 is an upper side edge region 140, which is approximately perpendicular and has a resilient catch 142 for locking with a complementary profile, which in Fig. 3 not shown in detail.
- This locking profile 120 is provided so that a complementary locking profile is pressed vertically into the receiving area 138. In itself, this profile cross section is known.
- a cutout 160 is provided with a rectangular cross-section, which is the Ausfräsung 60 in the panel 14 in Fig. 1 equivalent.
- This cutout 160 also has a horizontal flat bottom 162 and a vertical side wall 164 on the side of the cutout 160.
- a groove with a rectangular cross section is formed by the cutout 160.
- the cutout 160 also extends here to a depth below the decorative layer 30, so that the bottom of the joint is formed by the material of the core 24. In the assembled state, the effect of the joint thus formed is the same as that associated with Fig. 1 described.
- the upper edges of the side walls 64 and 164 of the recesses 60 and 160 are according to Fig. 1 to 3 each with bevels, ie provided with chamfers 70, 170. In this way, sharp edges on the edges of the cutouts 60, 160 are avoided.
- Fig. 1 The upper edge of the side wall 66 on the projection 54 of the left panel 12 has a chamfer 72 of the same kind.
- the cutouts 60, 160 can be performed together with the locking profiles 22, 120 in a single step, for example, by a combination tool that simultaneously mills the locking profiles 22, 120 and the cutouts 60, 160. As a result, an additional step is saved. Furthermore, the chamfers 70, 170 can be produced together with the locking profiles 22, 120 and the cutouts 60, 160.
- Fig. 4 shows the panel 112 Fig. 3 in the connected state with another panel 114.
- the locking profile 120 of the panel 112 is locked in this case with a complementary locking profile of the panel 114.
- the panel 114 has for this purpose a downwardly facing projection 146 on its side facing the panel 112 side edge, which is received in the receiving area 138.
- the cutout 160 forms a groove of rectangular cross-section, bounded laterally by the side walls at the upper edges of the panels 112, 114.

Abstract
Description

Fig. 3 , der zwei miteinander verbundene Paneele zeigt.
Fig. 1 deutlich zu sehen ist.
Fig. 1 rechte Paneel 14 inFig. 2 freigestellt. - In
Fig. 1 entspricht.
