Die Erfindung betrifft eine Maschine zum Erneuern eines Gleises gemäß den im Oberbegriff von Anspruch 1 angeführten Merkmalen sowie ein Verfahren.The invention relates to a machine for renewing a track according to the features cited in the preamble of claim 1 and to a method.

Der Erfindung liegt die Überlegung zu Grunde, lediglich einen Teil des für eine Gleisabsenkung zu entfernenden Schotters durch die Räumkette abzutransportieren. Der in den Randzonen der Gleisbettung verbleibende Restschotter wird in einfacher Weise im Rahmen eines sehr kurzen Transportweges durch den Schotterpflug lediglich in den Schulter- bzw. Flankenbereich der Gleisbettung verlagert. Dies hat den Vorteil, dass die Räumkette sowie ein anschließender Transportweg kleiner dimensionier-bar sind. - A machine according to claim 1, characterized in that the transverse chain segment (12) with respect to its length (L) is designed shorter by at least 20% than the sleeper length (SL) of the new sleepers.
- A machine according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the ballast plow (17) and the device (16) for placing the new sleepers (2) are positioned - with respect to the longitudinal machine direction (11) - between the transverse chain segment (12) and a discharge end (14) of the excavating chain (8) designed for the discharge of the ballast (10) taken in.
- A machine according to one of claims 1, 2 or 3, characterized in that two chain channels (13) of the excavating chain (8) connecting the transverse chain segment (12) with the discharge end (14) in a segment (15) located approximately centrally between discharge end (14) and transverse chain segment (12) have a greater distance (D) to each other than in a segment adjacent to the transverse chain segment (12).
- A method for renovating a track (5) using a machine according to claim 1, wherein ballast (10) of a track bed (4) laid open after removal of old sleepers (2) is partially accommodated by an excavating chain (8), while the remaining ballast (10) is leveled whereby a supporting surface (18) for placing new sleepers (2) is created, characterized in that only a part of the ballast (10) to be removed for the formation of the supporting surface (18) is taken in by the excavating chain (8) in such a manner that two ballast strands (20) distanced from each other in the cross-machine direction remain, which are displaced for the formation of the final supporting surface (18) by a ballast plow (17) in each case in an adjacent shoulder area (21) of the track bed (4).
- A method according to claim 5, characterized in that the ballast (10) displaced in the shoulder area (21) is in each case shifted in the direction of the sleeper ends (22) of the new sleepers (2) which are placed down.
