Definitions

  • the invention relates to a shielded connector according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such connectors are mainly used in electronics, automation and telecommunications for passive or active components to connect a shielded cable to a connector receiving component.
  • Known shielded connectors have a plug insert in which at least one or more contact elements are provided on which or to which the strand (s) of the line to be connected to the connector is (are) connected.
  • the cable has at least one stranded wire and a braided screen. Between the plug insert and the line a shield is provided to which the braid is attached.
  • the shield braid of the line is exposed, pushed the shield on the line, the strands are stripped and connected to the contact elements and the braid is attached to the shield. Then the connector is encapsulated.
  • Shielded connectors having the features of the preamble of claim 1, for example, in the publications EP 0 040 941 A1 . DE 10 2004 029 300 A1 and US 4,611,878 A1 shown.
  • the invention is therefore an object of the invention to provide a shielded connector according to the preamble of claim 1, wherein the shield for different cable diameter can be used.
  • a shielded connector according to an embodiment of the invention comprises a line comprising at least one wire and a screen braid, a contact carrier in which at least one contact element is provided which receives a stripped end of the at least one wire of the line, and a shield for the at least one wire, wherein the shield has a mounting portion to which the screen braid of the conduit is attached, wherein the braid is attached to the outside of the shield.
  • braided shield is not to be understood in the strict sense.
  • braided shield a line shield is to be detected from an elastic material.
  • These include in particular the usual shields made of braided metal wires.
  • the braid could be formed of an elastic conductive material, such as an electrically conductive plastic.
  • Other cable shields known to those skilled in the art are also conceivable.
  • the invention has the advantage that the line is not in the Shielding is introduced. Therefore, the same shield can be used for different lines with different outside diameters.
  • the inner diameter of the shield may be smaller than the outer diameter of the conduit.
  • tools can be saved, for example, for different sized shielding.
  • the braided screen is fastened to the shield by means of a crimp barrel, there is the advantage that the crimping can take place against a hard counterstop.
  • the shield has a hard housing on which the braided shield and the crimp sleeve can be arranged so that a hard counter-stop is provided during the crimping process.
  • the shield does not have to be pushed for mounting on the line, but after the connection of the at least one core can be attached to the at least one contact element. Therefore, the shield may have an opening with a diameter that is smaller than the outer diameter of the conduit, but sufficient to accommodate the at least one core. That has the advantage that one is independent of the cable sheath diameter, because the cable sheath can be arranged outside the shield and only the shield braid must be placed on the mounting portion of the shield and secured there in a suitable manner. By this arrangement, a virtually smooth or continuous transition from the line to the connector can be achieved when the shield is overmolded with the braid.
  • the shielded connector according to the invention may preferably comprise a plurality of contact elements in a contact carrier, wherein the number of contact elements preferably corresponds to the number of wires of the line, for example 3, 4, etc.
  • the stripped strands of the wires can be soldered, welded, lasered, for example, to the corresponding contact elements or be crimped.
  • the shield in the shielded connector, has at least in the attachment region for the braided shield a plurality, preferably two, in the longitudinal direction of the line adjacent to each other parts which are connectable to a shield enclosing the at least one core.
  • the shield has at least in the attachment region for the braided shield in the shielded connector, a screen housing on which a plurality, preferably two, parts is formed.
  • the parts may be connected to each other via a hinge connection (e.g., Filimschanier, etc.).
  • a hinge connection e.g., Filimschanier, etc.
  • the shield housing can be made of die-cast zinc, for example, Die cast aluminum, sheet metal (stamped and bent part, deep-drawn part), brass, steel, copper, aluminum or a conductive plastic may be formed.
  • the shield may have a longitudinal slot at least in the attachment region for the braided shield.
  • the shield is expandable to the arrangement on the shielded connector.
  • the shield can be designed to be elastic or provided with a joint (for example, film hinge, hinge, etc.).
  • the shield may extend from the male member to the braided shield of a lead attached to the male connector.
  • the shield may be formed of brass, steel, die-cast, conductive plastic, copper alloy, or a combination of several materials.
  • the shield may comprise a shielding sleeve which surrounds the contact element and adjoins the plug insert.
  • the shielding sleeve can be added, screwed, pressed, glued or welded by means of a suitable device to the plug insert or the contact carrier receiving the contact element or the contact elements.
  • a union nut or other connecting element could be mounted at the end of the plug side. It could be provided on the shield (or the screen housing halves) an insertion bevel and clearances for the purpose of a detent effect.
  • the shield has two shells, which together form a shield housing, one end of which encloses the shielding sleeve and whose other end forms the fastening region.
  • the shielding sleeve can for example comprise a groove, engage in the corresponding folds on the shells of the screen housing. Stops may also be provided on the shells in order to achieve a good orientation of the shielding sleeve to the shielding housing.
  • the two shells are connected to one another by means of a press connection.
  • the two shells can be provided with pins and holes with which a press fit is created during joining.
