Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a flexible protective helmet according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such folding or collapsible helmets are some known, such as from WO 00/57739 (D1), WO 01/24651 (D2), EP 0 802 741 (D3), EP 1 332 688 (D4) and US 3,208,080 (D5).
  • the one disclosed under D1 is modular in design and can also be assembled and disassembled, but clearly identifies itself in use as a protective helmet for cyclists, for example. Also, the space savings in the merged state is rather marginal.
  • D2 helmet The well-known from D2 helmet consists of an inner layer of shock-resistant material, which is dissolved in butting or interlocking sections. Outside and inside, this layer of shock-resistant material is covered with a textile and stretchable material. This results in wearing rather the aspect of a cap. Foldability is limited because of the shape of the shock resistant inner layer.
  • the protective helmet known from D3 has a cap-shaped construction, wherein this cap is constructed from a plurality, preferably six, spherical segment-like individual parts, which are preferably made of foamed plastic. These segments are connected to one another, for example, by fabric strips.
  • D4 helmet is in turn modular and can, depending on the desired intensity or type of head protection, modular supplements.
  • the protective helmet known from D5 consists of three interconnectable layers, an inner hood of a textile material; a substantially hard outer layer formed of plates, and a middle layer of several separate parts.
  • the object to be solved by the present invention is to provide a collapsible or foldable protective helmet for sports people, which should provide optimum protection for the chosen sport and at the same time should not be recognized as a protective helmet prima vista.
  • Fig. 1 shows in a schematic way the longitudinal section through an innermost layer of the inventive foldable protective helmet. It preferably consists of a so-called monofilar spacer fabric in which a monofilament yarn is incorporated between two knitted or knitted layers 2. Such spacer knits are known, they can be cut into any shape and sew, in such a way that an adjacent, elastic, but highly permeable hood 1 can be made. On the outer layer 2 of this hood 1 is at appropriate locations one side of a connecting means 3, for example, an adhesive fastener, attached by sewing or gluing. Thus, a middle layer according Fig. 2 be secured against displacement on this innermost layer.
  • a connecting means 3 for example, an adhesive fastener
  • Fig. 2 is the representation of a second double-walled and gas-tight designed, can be acted upon with compressed air middle layer 4.
  • a material for the middle layer are preferably plastic films, for example of PU or PVC, in question.
  • the middle layer 4 for example, two layers of such a film are placed on each other and, as in the Fig. 3 -6 shown, welded together.
  • the middle layer 4 is pulled over the hood made of Distanzgewirk 1 and releasably connected to corresponding, attached to the middle layer 4 adhesive fastener parts 3 with those of the hood 1.
  • An air pump 5, for example of a compressible bladder, is located on a suitable point which does not interfere with the wearing of the protective helmet according to the invention.
  • the air pump 5 has a respective valve 6 each for the supply of the pneumatic middle layer 4 and those of the air pump 5 itself. Such valves are known per se.
  • Fig. 3 to 6 are schematic, planar representations of embodiments of the pneumatic middle layer, each in plan view. It is possible to effect the desired concave shape of the pneumatic middle layer 4 only by attaching welds 7 in the airtight material of this middle layer 4 in the pressurized state. Preferably, however, this material is by cutting already preformed so that it only has to be brought into the necessary fit by pumping. By suitably arranged interruptions 8 in the welds 7 it is ensured that the entire middle layer 4 consists of communicating individual volumes. According to the invention are also openings or slots in the pneumatic middle layer 4, which are limited by welds 7 all around. Such breakthroughs allow vapor diffusion from the scalp through the hood 1 and through the pneumatic center layer.
  • the pneumatic middle layer 4 sets to the made of Distanzgewirk hood 1 with simultaneous training of many, limited by the welds 7, air cushions 9, as in Fig. 2 shown schematically.
  • FIG. 7 is - representative of many more - an embodiment of an outer layer 10 shown.
  • connecting means 3 are provided between the pneumatic middle layer 4 and a textile layer 11 of the outer layer 10, which permit the two layers 4, 10 to be detachably connected to one another.
  • an adhesive closure is again provided. While this may be occasion for many, in decorative, opportunities, here are only the technical features to describe.
  • FIG. 8, 9 show schematic cross-sections through such outer layers according to Fig. 7 .
  • An inner textile layer 11, for example made of a knitted or knitted fabric, carries a plurality of plates 12.
  • These plates 12 are preferably concave in shape. They may be contoured to overlap each other in a brick-like manner, as in FIG Fig. 8 represented, or substantially form a smooth layer, as in Fig. 9 shown.
  • materials for the plates 12 are conceivable and according to the invention mainly impact-resistant plastics, but also natural materials such as wood, coconut shells or other hard, non-brittle and naturally renewable materials and metals or composites made of plastic and metal.
  • Grooves 13 are shown, which serve to compensate different head sizes and shapes. If the plates are to form a surface which is interrupted by the joints 13 but which is essentially smooth, they are cut, for example, with polygonal, preferably hexagonal contours. Other forms are of course possible and known by the term tilings.
  • plates 12a which are substantially planar, form an inner layer
  • plates 12b which are cup-shaped, overlap the inner plates 12a respectively by their edges.
  • the plates 12 are attached to the textile layer 11 preferably by gluing.
  • the size of the textile layer 11 can again be taken into account in the context of the elasticity of different head sizes and shapes without having to provide many such head sizes in the blank and the remaining production.
  • the pneumatic middle layer 4 can also be dispensed with.
  • the outer layer 10, consisting of the textile layer 11 and the plates 12 mounted thereon, is then pulled directly over the hood 1. It is essential that the connecting means 3 are attached to the mutually corresponding locations. At best, a smaller cut outer layer must be provided for this procedure.

Description

  • Fig. 8, 9 zeigen schematische Querschnitte durch solche Aussenschichten gemäss Fig. 7.
