Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for applying one or both sides of at least two liquid to pasty application media on a running surface, comprising a curtain applicator for applying the application media, wherein the curtain applicator delivers the application media as essentially gravity-induced moving curtains to the moving surface, and the surface in the case of direct application is the surface of a material web, in particular of paper or cardboard, and in the case of indirect application is the surface of a transfer element, for example an applicator roll, which transfers the application media to the surface of the material web.
  • Such curtain applicators with which a plurality of application media can be applied, are generally known from the prior art.
  • the application media are collected together with a tub.
  • the tub is positioned between the curtain applicator and the moving surface so that it is used when starting or stopping the curtain applicator, or to produce uncoated edges on the moving surface. Since the application media are collected together with the tub, they mix in the tub. Therefore, the expensive application media for a further coating can not be used.
  • a separation of the order media from each other is very complex to implement and therefore expensive. Therefore, the mixed order media must be disposed of, resulting in further high costs.
  • the invention has the object to improve a device of the type mentioned in that the application media can be reused in the future after collecting, and no longer need to be disposed of.
  • the invention solves this problem by a curtain applicator of the type mentioned, in which according to the invention between the curtain applicator and the web a catcher for separate collection of each application medium is provided, the curtain applicator and the catcher are relatively movable. Since the collecting device collects the different application media separately, they can no longer mix. They can therefore be used again for another coating process, and no longer need to be disposed of. This reduces both the high acquisition costs for the order media and the disposal costs.
  • At the collecting device can be arranged a drain device. Then the collected application media can be removed from the catcher to again be available for the coating process.
  • the collecting device can be equipped with discharge openings for transferring the application media to the discharge device.
  • the collecting device has bevels arranged above the discharge openings, the application media can be fed via the bevels to the discharge openings.
  • the collecting device can be subdivided into a plurality of mutually adjacent sections, wherein each of the sections receives only one application medium.
  • the mutually adjacent portions of the collecting device may be separated by a separating element. This ensures that the different order media do not mix with each other.
  • the drain openings of the one portion are adjacent to the slopes of the adjacent portion. Then, the application medium received by one of the sections can flow into the drainage holes of this section, and flow under the slopes of the adjacent section adjacent to the drainage holes to be supplied to the drainage device.
  • the bevels thus fulfill another function in that they can intersect different application media without the intersecting application media mixing with one another.
  • the discharge device can have a drainage plate, at the end of which a separate discharge channel is arranged for each application medium.
  • the flow sheet can have at least one separate channel for each application medium.
  • the gutters of the drainage plate can bridge at least one of the adjacent discharge chutes at the end of the drainage plate. Then one of the application media, which is guided in the bridging channel of the drainage plate, crosses at the transition from the drainage plate into the discharge channel of at least one of the other application media. By this crossing a mixing of the two order media is safely excluded.
  • the gutters are separated by a metal sheet.
  • the drainage plate may have a slope in order to remove the application media as quickly as possible.
  • a satisfactory discharge flow is provided with a Gradient of at least five degrees.
  • the application media can preferably be removed to the side where the drives are placed. Then, from the other side, where there is a driver's cab, the device can be freely surveyed by the operator of the driver's cab. In principle, however, the application media can be removed on both sides of the device.
  • the collecting device and the drainage device can be formed in one piece. As a result, the entire unit of collecting device and drain device is very dimensionally stable, so that a reliable flow of the application media is given.
  • the collecting device and the drainage device are separate components. Then, only the catcher needs to be moved to begin or end the coating process. The drainage device and associated with it discharge tubes can then stand so that a total of a smaller mass is to move. In this case, only a smaller drive is required for the catcher. In addition, the catcher can be moved faster under the curtain or moved away under the curtain when the mass to be moved is smaller.
  • the collecting device can have two sections, which can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the material web in opposite directions. Then minimal mixing of the application media is absolutely excluded when the coating process is started or terminated. However, a minimal mixing of the application media occurs when the sections are moved in the same direction at the beginning or end of the coating process.
  • the separating element arranged between the sections may comprise a deflection device for deflecting the Have application media in the designated sections. Then, at the beginning or at the end of the coating process, a minimal mixing of the application media is reliably ruled out because the deflection device deflects the respective application medium into the section provided during the process of the collecting device.
  • the deflecting device is pivotable, so that it can be pivoted according to the direction of movement and the traversed travel path in order to guide the application medium optimally in the section provided for this purpose.
  • the application media can also be collected when the material web is torn off. Since the movable catcher can not be moved quickly enough under a curtain in a demolition of the web, the lower catcher is particularly advantageous.
  • the application media can also be collected separately with the lower collecting device.
  • the lower collecting device has a separate channel for each application medium in order to be able to collect the application media separately.
  • the channels can be separated from one another, for example by separating elements.
  • Fig. 1 shows a device 10 for applying two a curtain 11 and 12 forming application media.
  • the application media are applied to the material web 102 by means of a curtain applicator 13 extending transversely across a material web 102 to be coated, here in a direct manner.
  • Under the curtains 11 and 12 is a two sections 14 and 15 also having, as the applicator 13 is arranged in the transverse direction Q extending catcher 16.
  • the collecting device 16 catches the application media forming the curtains 11 and 12 with the sections 14 and 15 separately. Since the catcher 16 catches each application medium separately, the application media can not mix.
  • the trapped application media pass from the collecting device 16 to a drainage device 17 extending in the longitudinal direction of the material web 102.
  • the drainage device 17 removes the collected application media, so that they can be used again for the further coating process.
  • the drainage device 17 has a drainage plate 18, at the end of which separate discharge channels 19 and 100 are arranged for each application medium. In order to remove the application media as quickly as possible, the flow plate 18 on a slope.
  • the collecting device 16 arranged above the material web 102 can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the material web 102.
  • the collecting device 16 and the drainage device 17 are integrally formed. Then the collecting device 16 and the drain device 17 can be moved together.
  • the curtain application unit 13 can be moved along the material web 102, so that the collecting device 16 and the discharge device 17 do not have to be moved at the beginning or at the end of the coating process.
  • a lower collecting device 101 is arranged below the material web 102.
  • the lower collecting device 101 catches the application media after a tear in the material web 102.
  • the lower collecting device 101 it is also preferable to collect a plurality of application media separately.
  • the lower collecting device 101 can be equipped with a separate channel for each application medium.
  • Fig. 2 shows a specific embodiment of a collecting device 20 and a discharge device 21.
  • a dotted shown application medium 22 and a dashed line shown application medium 23 fall from a curtain applicator 204 in the two in the direction of the web in succession arranged sections 24 and 25 having collecting device 20.
  • the sections 24 and 25 have a separating element 28 in order to prevent a mixing of the application media 22 and 23.
  • the sections 24 and 25 are provided with drain openings 26. Through the discharge openings 26, the application media 22 and 23 can be passed to the drain device 21.
  • the sections 24 and 25 are equipped with bevels 27.
  • the bevels 27 pass the application media 22 and 23 to the drainage openings 26 on.
  • the application medium 22 falling into the section 24 can flow below the slopes 27 of the adjacent section 25 to the drain device 21.
  • the bevels 27 thus fulfill a further function by allowing the application media 22 and 23 to intersect without the intersecting application media 22 and 23 intermingling.
  • arch form may also be present.
  • the drain device 21 has a drainage plate 201.
  • the drainage plate 201 is provided with grooves 29, in which the application medium 22 expires, and with grooves 200, in which the application medium 23 expires.
  • each of the application media 22 and 23 can be discharged separately.
  • Abgradrinnen 202 and 203 are provided, in which the application media 22 and 23 are discharged separately.
  • the channels 200 which run in the direction of travel L of the material web 102, bridge the discharge channel 202 extending in the transverse direction Q.
  • the application medium 23 crosses the application medium 22 during the transition from the drainage plate 201 into the discharge channel 203. This mixing results in a mixing of the two application media safely excluded.
  • the discharge channels 202 and 203 guide the application media 22 and 23 transversely to the longitudinal direction of the material web 102.
  • Abgradschläuche 205 are connected, through which the application media 22 and 23 are fed to a reservoir.
  • FIG. 3 furthermore shows a device 10 in which the discharge channels 19, 100, 202, 203, viewed in the transverse direction of the device 10, are arranged next to each other.
  • Each of these Abgradrinnen 19, 100, 202, 203 takes separated from each other, the captured from the respective section 14, 15, 24, 25 of the collecting device 16, 20 and to the drain plates 18 and 201 further given application medium 22, 23, from where it is discharged outside the device 10.
