L'invention concerne un cylindre de fermeture, destiné notamment à des véhicules à moteur, comprenant un boîtier (1) dont la cavité cylindrique intérieure abrite un noyau de cylindre (2) pourvu d'un canal de clé (22) et de gâchettes (20, 20') montées sur ressorts. Lorsqu'une clé inappropriée est insérée dans le canal de clé (22), des parties saillantes de blocage (201) des gâchettes (20, 20') s'engagent dans une rainure de blocage (13, 13) ménagée dans un organe dans lequel le noyau de cylindre (2) est monté de manière rotative. Lorsque la clé appropriée est insérée, les parties saillantes de blocage (201) des gâchettes (20, 20') ne dépassent pas le contour du noyau de cylindre. Ce cylindre de fermeture présente en outre des moyens servant à accoupler le noyau de cylindre (2) avec un organe de sortie (3) du cylindre de fermeture, lorsque le noyau de cylindre (2) est tourné au moyen de la clé appropriée, et à désaccoupler le noyau de cylindre (2) de l'organe de sortie (3) du cylindre de fermeture, lorsque le noyau de cylindre (2) est tourné au moyen d'une clé inappropriée ou en force. L'invention est caractérisée en ce que la cavité cylindrique intérieure du boîtier (1) présente des rainures annulaires (11), à l'intérieur desquelles peut s'effectuer une rotation, et en ce qu'au moins une nervure (12), qui délimite ladite rainure annulaire (11) d'un côté opposé à une direction (o) d'un coulissement axial entraînant le désaccouplement du noyau de cylindre (2) et de l'organe de sortie (3), est interrompue par au moins une rainure de blocage (13), les flancs (130, 131) des rainures de blocage s'élargissant dans la direction (o) du coulissement axial qui entraîne le désaccouplement du noyau de cylindre (2) et de l'organe de sortie (3).
