Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a wide-width cruising or leisure vessel of the kind comprising an open main public space or semi-open bordered by longitudinal superstructures.
  • Cruising or recreational vessels such as cruise ships and large yachts are usually monobloc monohulls composed of bridges whose width is the same or close to the width of the ship at the waterline. Open or semi-open public spaces are generally located on the upper decks.
  • some ship concepts have a longitudinal main public space lined with vertical longitudinal port and starboard superstructures where are mainly cabins. where one sees the outside, either towards the sea if they are located on the side away from the axis of the ship, or towards the main public space in question if they are located on the side close to the axis of the ship.
  • These ship concepts have a total width equal to or close to their width at the waterline.
  • the document GB-A-1297245 describes a boat forming a "floating hotel". Its hull is open to form a pool of bottomless seawater. It has superstructures "stacked" on top of each other in a purely vertical direction.
  • the document US Patent 4046092 describes a cargo ship, that is, a cargo ship with an enlarged hull.
  • the present invention aims at avoiding the various disadvantages above, by the use of a new design principle which makes it possible to obtain outdoor or outdoor spaces that are numerous, user-friendly and functional while meeting the requirements of comfort. and security.
  • the ship according to the present invention of the kind comprising an open or semi-open main public space situated around the axial longitudinal plane of the ship, a space located at the foot of port and starboard longitudinal superstructures, is characterized in that these longitudinal superstructures port and starboard that border the public space are spaced from the axial longitudinal plane of the ship so that the width of the assembly consisting of the longitudinal superstructures and the public space is significantly greater than the width of the ship at the waterline, the ratio of the width of the assembly consisting of longitudinal superstructures and public space on the width of the ship at the waterline being between 1.3 and 3, and preferably between 1.6 and 2.5.
  • the ship is advantageously of the monocoque type.
  • the works of the ship are of classic proportions, adapted to the requirements of comfort, stability and resistance to progress.
  • the longitudinal superstructures are of dimensions and mass close to each other to facilitate the transverse balance of the ship, but may not be exactly symmetrical. Let's call "expanded set” the set composed of public space and superstructures longitudinal port and starboard lining. The ship may have one or more expanded sets.
  • the longitudinal flexural strength of the ship beam may be provided by the entire hull and superstructure or by only that part of the ship to which the longitudinal superstructures are attached, these being decoupled longitudinally by sliding joints.
  • the transverse resistance of the ship to roll movements can be ensured by a large number of transverse structural partitions which extend in the hull and in the longitudinal superstructures, horizontal transverse beams which can connect at the top. one longitudinal superstructure to another.
  • the horizontal circulation of the air conditioning ducts can be grouped at one level, the booths located in these superstructures on a different floor being supplied with air conditioning, in groups of two to four, by vertical ducts from this level. This simplifies the studies, manufacture and assembly of these areas. In particular, it is convenient to manufacture prefabricated cabin elements, elements in which are integrated vertical air conditioning ducts (or water pipes, electrical cables, etc.).
  • the ship according to the invention can be made in such a way that its cross section is close to V or Y, the port and starboard longitudinal superstructures having a transverse inclination overall. This overall inclination gives the public space at the foot of the longitudinal superstructures better sunshine and creates a spirit of bleachers.
  • the ship according to the invention can be made in such a way that the hull flares out rapidly above the waterline, with an average angle of at least 25 degrees with respect to the vertical, the longitudinal superstructures bordering the main public space being located at the front of each side on this flared hull.
  • the overall shape of the ship causes an increase in the width at the waterline when the ship sinks and thus significantly improves the stability of the ship, it directly depends on the transverse inertia of flotation.
  • the ship according to the invention can be made in such a way that the width of the hull does not increase or increase slightly above the waterline, the average angle between the edge of the hull and the vertical being less than 25 degrees, the longitudinal superstructures bordering the public space being located first on a superstructure situated on the hull, a superstructure of at least 2.5 meters in height and which is significantly wider than the width from the ship to the waterline.
  • This configuration makes it possible to design a relatively simple longitudinal structure of the ship.
  • the ship according to the invention can be made in such a way that at least two thirds of the rear of all superstructures consist of one or more public space (s) lined with longitudinal superstructures, the front part consisting of a solid zone over the entire width.
  • This area can be dedicated mainly to public spaces, crew premises and the wheelhouse.
  • the center of gravity of this vessel is thus positioned significantly more forward than that of a cruise ship or conventional leisure.
  • the longitudinal shift of the center of gravity relative to the center of inertia of flotation is a factor improving the behavior of the ship when pitching on certain swells.
  • the ship has a main structure (1) whose share below the flotation level (2) constitutes the live works.
  • An open or semi-open main public space (4) is located on the main structure (1).
  • the vessel has superstructures port and starboard longitudinal lines (3) which border the public space and which are well away from the axial longitudinal plane of the ship so that the ratio of the width (5) of the assembly consisting of the longitudinal superstructures (3) and the public space on the width (6) of the vessel at the waterline is between 1.3 and 3, and preferably between 1.6 and 2.5.
  • the internal facade of the superstructures may have an average opening angle (7) of between 3 degrees and 50 degrees, and preferably between 5 degrees and 35 degrees.
  • the vessel may have a hull with a width that does not increase (10) or increase slightly above the waterline, the average angle between the edge of the hull and the vertical being less than 25 degrees, the superstructures (3 ) which border the public space being located first on a superstructure (9) at least 2.5 meters high and significantly wider than the width (6) of the vessel at the waterline, superstructure (9) located on shell.
  • the hull of the ship may flare rapidly above the waterline at a mean angle (11) to the vertical of at least 25 degrees; the port and starboard longitudinal superstructures (3) can be raised with an overall transverse inclination such as to increase the sunshine of the lower main public space (4) while substantially increasing the width of the enlarged assembly at above the waterline (5).
  • the longitudinal superstructures (3) can be mainly dedicated to passenger cabins (12) facing the outside.
  • the horizontal circulation of the air-conditioning ducts (13) can be grouped at one level, the booths situated in these superstructures on a different floor being fed, in groups of two to four, in air conditioning by vertical ducts (14) from this level.
  • the figure 4 represents a ship according to the invention which comprises an enlarged set, a marina on the back, a full width area on the front, a panoramic lounge located above the marina.
  • the figure 5 represents a ship according to the invention which comprises two enlarged sets separated from each other by a solid transverse superstructure. The whole set back and protected from the sun and wind by stretched canvases. The rear of the widened space is protected by a full low transverse superstructure.
  • the figure 6 represents a ship according to the invention which comprises port and starboard two longitudinal superstructures separated from each other.
  • the figure 7 represents a ship according to the invention which comprises, on the rear, an enlarged assembly and, on the front, a solid superstructure of width close to the width at the waterline.
  • a rear transverse bridge connects the two longitudinal superstructures.
  • the ship can be made with the materials and equipment commonly used in the construction of cruise ships or recreational.
  • the vessel may have a waterline width of 32 meters and an overall width of 58 meters, for an overall length of 250 meters.
  • the longitudinal superstructures and the main public space may extend over the rear quarter quarters of the vessel, the forward quarter consisting of a full width zone dedicated to public spaces and the wheelhouse.
  • the rear part of this solid area that connects the superstructures port and starboard longitudinal can consist of bleachers that create the overall shape of an amphitheater.
  • the stern of the ship can be converted into a marina.
  • the vessel may have a waterline width of 13 meters and an overall width of 20 meters, for an overall length of 100 meters.
  • the extended set may extend over the aft third of the ship, the two-thirds being a zone full of 13 meters maximum width, dedicated to public spaces and the wheelhouse.
  • the stern of the vessel can be closed by a transverse superstructure of slightly lower heights than the port and starboard longitudinal superstructures.
  • the ship according to the invention is particularly intended for mass cruising.
