Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil (10) de plissage d'un matériau plan (18), dans lesquels on utilise une paire de rouleaux opposés (12, 14) entre lesquels on fait passer le matériau. Un filament électrique (34) conçu pour pénétrer dans le matériau plan à mesure que ce dernier passe entre les rouleaux, et pour faire fondre ledit matériau sur une profondeur prédéterminée (24), est prévu sur au moins un des rouleaux. Les filaments sont de préférence à chauffe rapide et dissipent rapidement la chaleur, si bien qu'ils peuvent être activés et désactivés à intervalles rapprochés, de manière que les rouleaux sur lesquels les filaments chauffants sont montés ne chauffent pas entre les filaments .
