Definitions

  • the invention relates to a laundry treatment device such as washing machine, washer-dryer or dryer with a program control device and a user interface for cursor-assisted user guidance in program selection and programming with a display device for program information and with an operating device with program function keys and with a multi-function rotary selector switch with selection function on the in the display device in Plain text representable operating programs and program parameters are selectable.
  • Such a laundry treatment appliance is known from EP 0 898 003 A2 and the content of the same DE 297 14 901 U1, in which a multi-functional control device for washing machines with a display device for displayable in plain text and selectable operating programs and program parameters is provided.
  • the operating programs and program parameters are selected via a multi-function rotary selector switch and put into operation via the enter function of the multi-function rotary selector switch.
  • program function keys with memo function are provided, via which operating programs can be quickly called up or stored.
  • the plain text display is in a multi-line display device.
  • the screen display is set to the multi-line structure of a dot matrix display.
  • a disadvantage of this embodiment lies in the limited to the multi-line screen display of the display device plain text display.
  • the operating programs of a program group are offered in a row-like subdivision in the display device for selection. Selection is made via the multi-function rotary selector switch with enter function.
  • the multi-function rotary selector switch is actuated until the cursor in the display device marks the desired operating program of the first program group. Pressing the multi-function rotary selector switch calls up a subroutine group in which an operating program can be selected in the same way. Pressing the multi-function rotary switch with the Enter function selects the desired operating program.
  • the display In the display then appears in the top line, the name of the operating program and below program parameters that appear on a repeated pressing of the multi-function rotary selector switch in a row of the display device and in the same way are selectable. Thereafter, the program can be started via the multi-function rotary selector switch with the Enter function. Particularly preferred operating programs can be started directly via the program function keys.
  • the bottom line displays status displays and error messages. This definition of the display format and the display contents on the purely multi-line structure is confusing and difficult to operate or the selection and design of the operating programs. By this definition, the display device is also not designed to display generally understandable symbols such as pictograms, which can greatly facilitate the operation regardless of the national language.
  • a major disadvantage of the user interface described above is that operating programs or settings and operating functions with the multi-function switch, via which the selection and design is done, put into operation or acknowledged. As a result, incorrect operation is possible by early pressing of the Enter function of the multifunction switch and a completely new selection of the settings or operating programs is required.
  • a method for controlling a cooking appliance or a washing machine which includes a graphical display device, at least one input control element associated with the display device and at least two functional controls for selecting respectively associated cooking or washing functions of the Garellas or the washing machine, in which after selecting a cooking or washing function by pressing one of the function controls a belonging to the selected cooking or washing function cooking or washing program is started and at least for a predetermined period of time, the current program parameters the cooking or washing process are displayed on a respective display panel of the display device and the input controls are activated so that at least one of the program parameters by operating at least one of the associated display panel associated input control changed is.
  • a selection of a washing program always via function controls that are directly associated with the display content for a program to be selected.
  • the selected program is started and at the same time associated program parameters are displayed in display fields which can be changed via input control elements assigned to these display fields.
  • the variable program parameters are displayed to the user only for a predetermined period of time for modification. After a change, the program continues with changed program parameters.
  • the operating procedure is defined by the selection of washing functions via the function controls and the modification of parameters via the input controls.
  • it is considered particularly disadvantageous that the program parameters are displayed to the user only for a predetermined time for the change. Thus incorrect operation is not excluded.
  • the sewing machine has a seam information display device and an operation device with function keys and cursor run keys.
  • the display device displays various screen contents. Use the function keys to select a menu for a seam type or a sewing process.
  • the seam parameters can be selected and changed in the display device by means of the cursor run buttons.
  • the invention had the object to improve the known user interfaces for household appliances with display devices and multi-function rotary selector switches for forced user guidance in program selection and program design to the effect that operating programs and program flows are taking advantage of the diverse design options novel program control devices and control electronics of a household appliance individually to assemble and select and with a clear design of the user interface and simple operation of the control device to facilitate program selection and programming, with the possibility of incorrect operation is excluded.
  • a further significant advantage of the embodiment according to the invention is that a program start of a selected or defined operating program can only be carried out by operating a program start button assigned separately to the operating device when the program selection or program design has been completed.
