Definitions

  • the invention relates to the field of warning radio receivers, which is defined in the preamble of claim 1.
  • Warning radio receivers are, inter alia, from the applicant's PINS prospectus and from Patent Abstracts of Japan, Volume 2, No. 153 (E-78) [9845], January 1979 (Tokyo Shibaura Denki) (& JP-A-53 121 509 ) and Patent Abstracts of Japan, Volume 6, No. 12 (E-91) [890], January 23, 1982, Matsushita Denki Sangyo KK) (& JP-A-56 134 842). These receivers can have self-monitoring circuits as described in DE-PS 32 11 813.
  • the known receivers are supplied by an integrated accumulator.
  • the supply from an accumulator requires the lowest possible power consumption in the receiver in order to ensure the longest possible supply period.
  • the warning radio receiver according to the invention comprises a receiving part 2 connected to the antenna 1, the output of which is connected to an output stage 3 which drives the loudspeaker 4.
  • a control signal decoder 5 is connected to the output of the receiving part 2.
  • these device stages require a power supply, which in the warning radio receiver comprises a power supply unit 6 and a battery 7 or an accumulator.
  • control signal decoder 5 can therefore be a decoder for the radio data signal, but is not limited to this.
  • a controllable switch 9 is looped into the circuit of the output stage, which can separate the output stage from the power supply 6, 7.
  • the lines of the power supply are highlighted in the circuit diagram because they form a separate line network from the signal lines.
  • the switch 9 is switchable from two separate control circuits 10 and 11.
  • the first control circuit 10 comprises an auxiliary contact 12 of the changeover switch 8, which ensures the power supply of the receiver from the battery in the event of a power failure. In the position which it assumes in the event of a power failure, the contact opens the switch 9, as a result of which the output stage 3 is separated from the receiving part 2 and control signal decoder 5 which continue to consume power.
  • the second control circuit 11 is connected to the control signal decoder 5 in addition to other control stages. When a predetermined control signal arrives, the second control circuit 11 causes the switch 9 to reclose.
  • the second control circuit must include a holding circuit 13 and a third control circuit 13 control the reopening of the switch 9. The effect of this third control circuit is then parallel to the first control circuit.
  • control circuits are best implemented with semiconductor switches. Their structure is essentially determined by the above information, so that the reproduction of a more precise circuit diagram is unnecessary.
  • this circuit In the event of a power failure, this circuit not only switches the power supply to the built-in battery, but also disconnects the output stage from the power supply network.
  • the warning radio receiver is thus in a so-called stand-by mode.
  • the switch 9 is opened again, be it that it is no longer held by the control circuit 10 or is caused by the control circuit 12 to open. In the latter case, the end of the warning signal must be broadcast by the warning radio transmitter at the end of the warning broadcast.
