Definitions
- Powdery cleaning agents also known as dry foam, are often used to clean carpets.
- Various devices are known for applying the cleaning powder.
- a device which can be placed on the mouthpiece housing of a vacuum cleaner which is of funnel-shaped design and has a rotating roller on the funnel base for dispensing the cleaning powder.
- the storage space for the cleaning powder consists of a cloth container, so that cleaning powder clumped onto this cloth container can be loosened. Since the cleaning powder presses the entire weight of the cleaning powder onto the roller due to the shape of the funnel, a specially designed dosing device must be provided, which ensures uniform application of the cleaning powder. This and the drive required for the roller make the device technically very complex overall.
- a spreading device known from DE-A-1 409846 also has a funnel-shaped container for the spreading material, at the bottom of which a rotatable spreading roller is arranged.
- a separate agitator roller is provided for crushing clumped spreading material, on which spring arms are attached in a helical line, through which the spreading material is processed. Clumped grit is crushed and the grit is conveyed to the outlet slot of the device.
- the funnel shape the spreading material rests on the agitating roller with a high weight, particularly when the container is full, so that a high level of force is required to drive it.
- a device for applying a cleaning powder known from BE-A-667160 has a container, on the bottom side of which two rollers are rotatably arranged. At the front and rear of the container, the walls of the container are inclined towards the rollers, so that a narrow discharge slot is formed between the edge of the container wall and the roller in question.
- a plate is inserted between the two rollers approximately at the level of the circumference of the two rollers in such a way that discharge slots are likewise formed between their side edges and the rollers.
- the rollers are provided with an elastic pad. If lumps contained in the cleaning powder get into one of the discharge slots, the elastic support is compressed accordingly, so that the lump can pass through the discharge slot.
- a machine for applying and incorporating cleaning powder into a carpet is known from AU-B-83 508.
- This machine has a funnel-shaped container for the cleaning powder.
- a roller for applying the cleaning powder to the carpet is rotatably mounted in the mouth of the funnel.
- a swirl roller is also arranged above this roller, through which the cleaning powder is continuously whirled up and thus loosened. This prevents the cleaning powder from resting on the roller due to the funnel shape of the receptacle and prevents uniform discharge.
- the constant swirling of the cleaning powder requires a lot of effort.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of providing a device with which a cleaning powder can be distributed as uniformly as possible on the carpet surface and clogging of the discharge openings by powder parts which are easily adhered to one another is prevented.
- the equipment box is provided with an obliquely downward vibrating base which can be set in vibrating movements when the cleaning powder is applied and which has scattering openings over its entire width in the region of its free end in relation to the front boundary wall of the equipment box which are covered by a cover strip arranged at a vertical distance from the vibrating base on the inside of the front boundary wall, between the free end and the vibrating base of which there is a passage slot for the cleaning powder.
- the cleaning powder slides to the scattering openings located at the lowest point of the vibrating floor and falls through them onto the carpet. Due to the passage slot formed from the cover strip to the vibrating bottom provided over the scattering openings, the cleaning powder is supplied to the scattering openings only in a thin layer corresponding to the slot height, and thus clogging of the scattering openings by the slightly clumping cleaning powder is avoided.
- the cover strip is arranged too inclined towards the vibrating base, no residues of the cleaning powder remain on the cover strip.
- a plurality of holes arranged in a row are provided as the scattering openings.
- the vibrating movements of the vibrating base can be generated in a simple manner by arranging a pair of wheels connected by an axis in the area of the front end on the equipment box and by installing a gear on the axis rotating with the wheels, which meshes with a cam provided on the vibrating base .
- the one for the vibrations The necessary movable connection of the vibrating base with the equipment box is achieved without additional assembly parts and work by connecting the vibrating base on its side opposite the free end to a fixed base part or the rear wall of the equipment box via a film hinge.
- the device box is adapted to the dimensions of a housing of a training device containing a rotating or oscillating brush and can be plugged onto the device in such a way that the pair of wheels of the device continues to roll on the carpet.
- the equipment box 1 has a vibrating base 4, which runs obliquely downwards to the front boundary wall 2.
- the vibrating base 4 is connected to a base part 6 fixedly arranged in the rear section of the device box 1 via a film hinge 5.
- the vibrating base 4 is separated from the side walls 8 and 9 and the front boundary wall 2 by a slot 7, so that the vibrating base can be moved up and down.
- the up and down movements are effected by a gear wheel 10, which is arranged on an axle 12 driven by a pair of wheels 11 and meshes with a cam 13 formed on the shaking plate 4.
- the axis 12 is supported in cheeks 14 which are pulled down on the side of the equipment box. Due to the shaking movements of the shaking base 4, the cleaning powder 15 filled in the equipment box 1 is conveyed through a slot 16 formed between the shaking base and the cover strip 3 to the scattering openings 17 provided at the free end of the shaking base. The cleaning powder falls onto the carpet 18 to be cleaned through these scattering openings 17.
- the cover strip 3 is arranged with an inclination on the vibrating base 4 on the front boundary wall 2. As a result of this tendency, no residues of the cleaning powder remain on the cover strip 3. Through the passage slot 16, the cleaning powder only reaches the scattering openings 17 in a thin layer corresponding to the height of the passage slot 16. There is no risk of clumping in this thin layer. As can be seen from the top view in FIG. 1, a plurality of holes arranged in a row are provided as scatter openings 17. Through these holes, a sieve effect is created, through which any powder lumps that may still be present are comminuted.
- a guide rod 19 can be fixed or plugged. This allows the device to be pushed over the carpet.
- the gear 10 is driven via the pair of wheels 11 and, as already described, the vibrating base 4 is thereby set in vibrating movements.
- the dimensions of the device box 1 can also be adapted to the housing of a training device equipped with a rotating or oscillating brush, so that the device box can be plugged onto this housing.
- the arrangement of the pair of wheels 11 is such that the wheels rest on the carpet when the device box 1 is plugged in and roll on the carpet when the training device is moved back and forth.
- This in turn causes the vibrating base 4 to vibrate and the cleaning powder to be applied to the carpet via the scattering openings 17 located in front of the housing of the incorporation device.
- the cleaning powder is then immediately worked into the carpet pile by the brush of the incorporation device.
- This configuration of the device box 1 means that the cleaning powder can be applied and incorporated in a single operation.

Description
