- CH-A-187 383 Electric hot plates according to the preamble of claim 1 have become known from CH-A-187 383. These are circular hot plates with a cast body, which consist of separate or connected, heated rings. CH-A-187 383 shows the connection of these rings by means of a sheet metal strip with an expansion bead.
- an electric hotplate which has an oval shape in plan view and a common heating with inserted electrical heating resistors on its underside. They are used to heat elongated cooking or roasting dishes.
- FR-A-2 448 693 describes a radiant heater for heating a glass ceramic plate. It consists of a round radiant heating field, which is separated by a web from an adjoining crescent-shaped field, so that an oval field consisting of two heating zones of different sizes is created. With radiant heaters of this type, which work together with a glass ceramic plate running over several cooktops, heating zones of this type which can be switched differently pose no problems. Glass ceramic cooking appliances are, however, generally much more complex and inferior to the cast-iron hot plates in many of their properties.
