Definitions
- the present invention relates to a security lock with a lock housing and lock cylinder, in the latter of which a plurality of frame-shaped locking plates are arranged, which have stop surfaces interacting with the lock housing on the frame circumference, each locking plate having an opening which can be penetrated by the key and having a frame section resiliently against the toothed key side of a key inserted in the lock cylinder.
- Security locks of this type have been known for decades. They have the disadvantage that the comparatively thin locking plates have correspondingly narrow stop surfaces, so that if an attempt is made to turn the lock cylinder with the wrong key, a high surface pressure arises between the locking plates projecting beyond the lock cylinder and the lock housing. This becomes particularly serious when the wrong key is inserted and only a few locking plates protrude slightly beyond the lock cylinder. In this case, the lock can be damaged, or at worst even strangled.
- the present invention has as its object a security lock of the type mentioned to improve in such a way that the surface pressure between the protruding locking plates and the lock housing becomes smaller without the lock cylinder having to be made longer.
- this purpose is achieved in that the stop surfaces are widened by reinforcements on the corresponding frame sections of the locking plates.
- the locking plates can be produced with high accuracy and easily (by stamping or casting) if the frame sections forming the stop surfaces are reinforced by rib-like beads, such that the reinforcing plates have a Z-shaped or U-shaped cross-sectional shape.
- the locking plates are also displaceably mounted in a known manner in guides of the lock cylinder with respect to their cross-sectional shape, this results in larger guide surfaces in the lock cylinder for each locking plate and therefore more precise guidance.
- reference numeral 1 denotes a lock cylinder which is rotatably mounted in a lock housing 2 (shown in dash-dot lines in FIG. 2).
- the lock cylinder 1 are at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the cylinder and below each other in a parallel arrangement guides 3, in which locking plates 4 are slidably mounted with the guides corresponding cross-section.
- Each locking plate 4 is with an opening 5, which is penetrated by a key 7 inserted into the lock cylinder 1 through the keyhole 6.
- the locking plates 4 each have a projection 8 against which a helical spring 9 supported on the lock cylinder 1 (shown in dash-dot lines in FIGS. 2 and 3) in order to push the locking plate outwards.
- the parts of the locking plate protruding over the lock cylinder 1 protrude into a groove in the lock housing 2 and prevent the lock cylinder from rotating in the lock housing in a form-fitting manner. If the appropriate key is inserted into the lock cylinder 1, the locking plates 4 are withdrawn behind its outer surface and the lock cylinder 1 can be rotated in the lock housing 2. The locking plates 4 have on the part protruding into the aforementioned lock housing groove when the key is removed, with which they face one of the two groove flanks. As far as the structure and functioning of the security lock is known.
- the outer sections of the frame-shaped locking plates 4 are reinforced so that when the lock cylinder is forcibly turned with the wrong key, each locking plate 4 comes to lie with as large a surface as possible against one of the groove flanks.
- the reinforcements consist of the side Frame parts following wedge-shaped ribs 11 which lie on one side of the locking plate and give it a U-shaped cross section.
- the lower frame section 13 comes into abutment with the toothed side of an inserted key because of the spring 9.
- the wall thickness is greater Enlarging the locking plate 4 further, this can be achieved without enlarging the toothing on the key 7 (and thus without lengthening the lock cylinder because of the enlargement of the locking plate spacing) by breaking the edges 15 facing the opening 5 in the frame section 13 or that the section 13 is tapered in a wedge shape against the opening 5.
- the locking plates 4 can also be Z-shaped. Cross section can be designed, wherein the ribs 11 may be rectangular or wedge-shaped.

Abstract
Description
- Fig. 3 eine Ansicht eines Verriegelungsplättchens,
