Definitions
- the invention relates to an insert for a projectile-forming charge according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a projectile-forming explosive charge insert of a generic type is known from DE-OS 29 13 103 and from FR-OS 24 25 047. To promote the process of implosion transformation of the insert into the projectile aimed at a target, it is provided that the material thickness increase from the center to the area of the clamped base edge of the insert; So choose an insert that has a non-constant material thickness in the centripedal direction.
- the invention is based on the object of designing a projectile-forming explosive charge insert of a generic type in such a way that, in the course of the shaping, it leads to a projectile which, even with larger-caliber ammunition and with a larger target distance, leads to improved penetration in the target.
- Such an insert which is facetted in the view, namely having a material thickness that fluctuates in the peripheral direction, furthermore allows, in the interest of implosion of the insert that progresses outwards from the center, to accommodate relatively large masses on the insert base; while on the other hand, the Dickenschwan- k L nts in the circumferential direction cause certain centripetally extending zones of the insert, preferably, their implosion-folding out and leave the thicker deposit edge portions after folding as aerodynamically shaped stub wings protrude star-shaped at the rear of the projectile in cross section.
- the faceted fluctuation of the insert material thickness not only promotes the rapid formation of the projectile despite the large diameter and thick insert base, but in particular now also one Projectile training in a streamlined geometry, i.e. the firing of a single-layer projectile in a relatively stable trajectory and thus with a great impact even after overcoming relatively large target distances.
- a projectile of these properties does not result from inlays of such configurations as are known from the generic publications cited above; and from those previous publications there is also no indication that, in the interest of improved combat effectiveness with larger-caliber ammunition, despite a larger target distance, the material thickness of the insert also varies periodically in the peripheral direction, so that a defined stub wing at the rear of the projectile changes during projectile folding can achieve more stable trajectory.
- This defined tailplane-like folding of the projectile tail takes place through periodically changing material thickness in suitable areas of the metal coating.
- the wings caused by the rear folding of the insert that there are approximately centrally aligned zones of different thicknesses in the material thickness.
- the thin zones form the base of the wings, while the thick zones form the top of the wings.
- the distance of the thin zones from the center of the insert determines the beginning of the wing start.
- the material thickness increases continuously, namely up to approximately 150% of the basic thickness, i.e. the lowest material thickness.
- the detonation wave guidance for converting the metal coating into a projectile is based on customary measures, such as multiple detonation of the explosive, inert substance deposits or cavities in the explosive.
- an insert 1 is designed as a spherical cap 2.
- the material thickness - seen in the circumferential direction - runs in a wave form 4.
- zone 5 which is also the axis of symmetry for the recess 3
- the material thickness 8 is constant.
- the material thickness 8 decreases in the centripedal direction 9.
- the original insert without recesses 3 is indicated in FIG. 1c by a dash-dotted line la.
- an insert 15 is designed as a spherical cap 16.
- Concavely curved recesses 1b in the convex side of the insert lie at a distance 17 from the center 18.
- the recesses 1b delimit an area 19 with a constant material thickness.
- the material thickness 21 is constant.
- the material thickness 23 increases in the centripedal direction.
- the original shape and thickness of the insert is indicated by a dash-dotted line 15a.
- an insert 35 is designed as a spherical cap 36.
- Recesses 37 in the concave side of the insert 35 correspond to the distance 17 from the center 18 shown in FIG. 2b.
- the remaining features correspond to the features according to FIGS. 2a to 2c.
- the original material thickness 38 of the insert 35 can be seen in FIG. 3.
- FIGS. 4a to 4c the formation of an explosive-shaped projectile 40 from the insert 1 or 15 or 35 is shown in two stages (FIGS. 4b, 4c).
- the insert made of a suitable material is arranged with an explosive charge 41 in a housing 42 with an ignition device 43. After ignition of the explosive charge 41, the insert 1; 15; 35 inverted hat-shaped (dash-dotted line 45) and receives the intermediate shape 40a shown in FIG. 4b with preformed wings 47a.
- the projectile 40 with the wings 47 is completely formed.
- the wings 47 extend approximately 2/3 of the length 48 of the projectile 40 from approximately the distance 17 from the former center 18, now the tip 50 of the projectile.
- the zones 5 each form the base 51 of the wings 47.
- the zones 7 form the head 52
- other forms of inserts such as conical inserts, can also be used.
- the geometry of the basic shape of the insert is arbitrary, e.g. spherical cap with flat cone or a combination of flat cone and spherical cap. A degressive or progressive basic form is also possible. With a corresponding number of zones of different material thickness, the projectile can have 3 or 4 or 6 or 8 wings.

Abstract
Description
- Fig. 1-3 verschieden ausgebildete Einlagen in zwei Ansichten und im QLerschnitt;
