worin η eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 3 ist, während X Chlor, Brom oder die Gruppe C2H5SO4 bedeutet,
enthält, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es insgesamt besteht aus:
(a) 4 bis 10 Gew.-% des quaternären Ammoniumsalzes derellgemeinen Formel (I),
(b) 0,1 bis 5 Gew.-% eines äthoxylierten quaternären Ammoniumsalzes der allgemeinen Formel:

Die Erfindung ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das
neue Weichmachungsmittel neben 4 bis 10 Gew.-% eines quaternären Ammoniumsalzes der Formel (I) noch
0,1 bis 5 Gew.-% eines äthoxylierten quaternären Ammoniumsalzes der allgemeinen Formel (II), ferner 0,5
bis 15 Gew.-% eines Alkohols mit 3 und weniger Kohlenstoffatomen im Molekül oder Harnstoff und
gegebenenfalls noch 0,01 bis 0,5 Gew.-% eines anorganischen Salzes enthält, während der Rest aus
Wasser besteht:

In dieser Formel bedeuten Ri und R2 eine Alkylgruppe mit 14 bis 22 Kohlenstoffatomen und R3 und Rt eine
Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis 3 Kohlenstoffatomen oder eine Benzylgruppe oder die Gruppe (C2H4O)nH, worin η eine
ganze Zahl von 1 bis 3 ist, während X Chlor, Brom oder
(II) jo die Gruppe C2H5SO4 bedeutet

und Harnstoff;
(d) gegebenenfalls 0,01 bis 0,5 Gew.-% eines

Die Erfindung betrifft ein antistatisches Weichmachungsmittel für Textilien auf der Basis eines quaternären Ammoniumsalzes. Aus der DE-AS 14 19362 sind
bereits Weichmachungsmittel für Textilien bekannt, die außer einem quaternären Ammoniumsalz der allgemeinen Formel:

enthalten. In der Formel bedeuten R eine Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis 3 Kohlenstoffatomen und/oder eine Benzylgruppe, R' eine Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis 3 Kohlenstoffato-

Zahlen, die mindestens den Wert 1 besitzen unter der Bedingung, daß m und π zusammen einem Wert von 20
bis 100 entsprechen.
Die in der deutschen Auslegeschrift 14 19 362 angegebenen äthoxylierten quaternären Ammoniumsalze, die neben einem der anmeldungsgemäßen Formel (I)
weitgehend entsprechenden quaternären Ammoniumsalz als Weichmachungsmittel anzuwe&ien sind, unterscheiden sich in ihrem chemischen Aufbau grundsätzlich
von dem erfindungsgemäß verwendeten zweiten Ammoniumsalz. Das Monoammoniumsalz, das in Spalte 5
Zeile 16—30 der Entgegenhaltung beschrieben ist, weist
lediglich eine Polyoxyäthylenkette, dabei aber zwei langkettige Alkylgruppen und einen Methyl-, Äthyloder Benzylrest auf. Das Diammoniumsalz, das auf Zeile
31—46 beschrieben ist, besitzt eine langkettige Alkylgruppe, einen Methyl-, Äthyl- oder Benzylrest und drei
Polyoxyäthylenketten.
Hier unterscheidet sich das erfindungsgemäß verwendete äthoxylierte quaternäre Ammoniumsalz dadurch,
daß es eine langkettige Alkylgruppe, eine kurzkettige Alkylgruppe und zwei Potyoxyäthylenreste besitzt
Dieser Unterschied im Aufbau der Verbindungen ist
entscheidend für die besondere Wirkung des Mittels gemäß der Erfindung. Denn erst durch die Verwendung
dieses speziellen äthoxylierten quaternären Ammoni-
umsalzes werden den behandelten Textilprodukten die
erwünschten antistatischen Eigenschaften verliehen.
Im übrigen enthält das Mittel gemäß der Erfindung noch eine drifte Komponente in Form niederer
Alkohole, welche die Erfindung ebenfalls grundsätzlich von der Entgegenhaltung unterscheidet
Die besondere Wirkung des neuen Mittels nach der Erfindung, insbesondere seine Frostbeständigkeit, sein
Dispergiervermögen, seine Viskosität und nicht zuletzt seine antistatischen Eigenschaften sowie die dem ι ο
behandelten Gewebe erzielte Weichheit sind aus den umfangreichen, der Anmeldung beigefügten Tabellen
klar ersichtlich. Dieser technische Fortschritt war auch
für den Fachmann nicht zu erwarten.
Die bevorzugten Mischungen werden im folgenden im einzelnen beschrieben. Für die Gruppen Ri und R2
sind Alkylgruppen mit 16 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen bevorzugt Für die Gruppen R3 und R4 werden
vorzugsweise Alkylgruppen mit 1 bis 3 Kohlenstoffatomen oder eine Benzylgruppe eingesetzt Die Gruppe Rs
enthält vorzugsweise 12 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatome, und die Summe der Werte m und π beträgt vorzugsweise 30
bis 70. Bevorzugte Zusatzstoffe sind Propylenglycol, Äthylenglycol und Glycerin. Die bevorzugte Menge des
äthoxylierten quatemären Ammoniumsalzes der oben erwähnten allgemeinen Formel (II) liegt bei 1,0 bis 5,0
Gew.-%. Die bevorzugte Menge des Zusatzstoffes beträgt 3 bis 8 Gew.-%. Das günstigste quaternäre
Ammoniumsalz, das der obengenannten allgemeinen
Formel (I) entspricht, ist Distearyldimethylammoniumchlorid und zweifach hydriertes Talgalkyldimethylammoniumchlorid. Obwohl die Ziele der vorliegenden
Erfindung in genügender Weise unter Verwendung der obigen Masse ohne weitere Zusatzstoffe erreicht
werden können, wird vorzugsweise eine geringe Menge eines anorganischen Salzes, wie Natriumchlorid, Natriumbromid oder Natriumsulfat, gewöhnlich in Mengen
von 0,01 bis 0,5 Gew.-%, der Masse einverleibt um die
Beständigkeit der Mischung während längerer Zeitdauer zu sichern.
Dieses Beispiel zeigt die Wirkungen, die auf den Bestandteilen der Mischung beruhen.
Von den in der folgenden Tabelle I angegebenen Mischungen entsprechen die Mischungen A bis G der
vorliegenden Erfindung, während die Mischungen K bis M Vergleichsbeispiele darstellen. Die in der Tabelle
angegebenen Prozentwerte sind Gewichtsmengen, der Rest besteht aus Wasser.
Die Viskosität die antistatischen Eigenschaften und das Weichmachungsvermögen, das in Tabelle I angegeben ist sind nach Verfahren gemessen, die weiter unten
näher beschrieben sind. Die Ergebnisse der Messungen
sind durch vier Zeichen, nämlich: © O Δ und χ
bezeichnet ® bedeutet den besten Wert Das Symbol »EO« bedeutet Äthylenoxyd. Im einzelnen ergibt sich
die Bedeutung der Symbole aus folgender Tabelle:

Die Mischung wurde unmittelbar nach dem Vermischen bei Zimmertemperatur 6 Monate lang und dann 3
Monate lang bei 500C stehengelassen. Dann wurde sie bei -30° C ausgefroren, bei Zimmertemperatur aufgetaut und noch einmal ausgefroren. Dieses Verfahren
wurde fünfmal wiederholt Vier Beispiele jeder Mischung wurden bei 30° C rait einem Brookfield-Viskosimeter gemessen. Die Einheit der Zahlenwerte in den
Tabellen bedeutet Centipoises.
2. Antistatische Eigenschaften
Ein aus Polyesterfasern oder Acrylfasern hergestellter Probestreifen wurde in eine 0,1- oder 03%ige
Lösung jeder Weichmachungsmischung eingetaucht, wobei das Gewichtsverhältnis der Mischung zur
Behandlungslösung 1; 20 betrug. Die Probe wurde unter Rühren 5 Minuten lang behandelt. Dann wurde die
Lösung ausgequetscht bis zu einem Gew.-Verhältnis von 100% Flüssigkeit pro Streifen. Anschließend
wurden die Streifen getrocknet, dann ließ man sie bei 25° C in einem Raum mit 40% Feuchtigkeit 2 Tage lang
stehen, um Meßproben zu erhalten. Die Ergebnisse der beim Reiben erzeugten statischen Spannung gemessen
Universität Kyoto, sind in Tabelle II veranschaulicht Im allgemeinen läßt sich feststellen, daß der durch eine
Spannung statischer Elektrizität von weniger als 300 V erzeugte Nachteil vernachlässigt werden kann. In
diesem Zusammenhang sei vermerkt daß nichtbehan
delte Probestreifen von Polyester- und Acrylfasern
beim Reiben statische Spannungen von 2200V und 1900 V zeigten.

3. Weichmachungsvermögen
Stücke eines Baumwollhandtuches, eines Flachgewebes für Windeln und eines aus Poiyacrylnitrilfasern hergestellten Tuches wurden in der üblichen Weise gewaschen, mit 0,1- und 03%igen Lösungen jeder
Weichmachungsmitteimischung behandelt und anschließend getrocknet Die Proben wurden durch fünf
Personen hinsichtlich des Griffes beim Anfassen untersucht Jeder Person standen 20 Punkte zur
Bewertung zur Verfügung; je größer die Zahl ist umso weicher ist das Textilgut Die Zahlen in Tabelle II
bedeuten die Summe der Punkte der fünf Personen.

Das Beispiel zeigt die "Wirkung der Mengenverhältnisse
der Bestandteile der Mischung.
Die Wirkungen der Änderung der Anzahl der Äthylenoxydeinheiten in den äthoxylierten quaternären
Ammoniumsalzen und die Wirkungen der Zusatzmittel, wie Propylenglycol, wurden geprüft, wobei die in
Tabelle III zusammengestellten Ergebnisse erzielt wurden.

Die Mischungen wurden unmittelbar nach dem h5 Vermischen 1 Monat bei Zimmertemperatur stehengelassen
und bei 3O0C mit einem Brookfield-Viskosimeter
gemessen. Die Einheit der Zahlenwerte in der Tabelle sind Centipoises.

2. Erholung nach dem Ausfrieren
Die Proben wurden durch Stehenlassen bei -250C
während 1 Tages ausgefroren und dann durch Erhöhen der Temperatur auf Zimmertemperatur wieder aufgetaut.
Das Verfahren wurde fünfmal wiederholt. Dann wurde der Zustand der Proben untersucht.
3. Dispersionsbeständigkeit
Die Proben wurden bei konstanter Temperatur in einem Wasserbad von 50°C 1 Monat lang stehengelassen.
Dann wurde die Phasentrcnming gcprüit.
Die Ergebnisse der Bewertung der beiden Prüfverfahren 2 und 3 wurden in der gleichen Weise wie in Beispiel
I durch vier Symbole veranschaulicht.
Auch mit anderen äthoxylierten quaternären Ammoniumsalzen, beispielsweise mit Behenyläthyldipolyoxyäthylenammoniurnmethosulfat
und Laurylbcnzyldipolyoxyäthylenammoniumchlorid, wurden die gleichen
Tendenzen wie in Tabelle III beobachtet. In dieser Tabelle bedeuten die Ziffern in Spalte I die Anzahl der
Äthylenoxydeinheiten in 1 Mol des Moleküls, während die Ziffern in der Zeile 2 den Prozentgehalt des
zugesetzten PG bedeuten.
