Die Erfindung "betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Oxazinfarbstoffen
der Formel I
in der
R Wasserstoff, Methyl, Methoxy oder Äthoxy,
R Wasserstoff, Allcyl mit 1 bis 4 C-Atomen, Benzyl oder Phenyläthyl,
R Wasserstoff, Allcyl mit 1 bis 4 C-Atomen, Cyanätliyl, Hydroxyalkyl
mit 2 oder 3 C-Atomen, Phenyl oder Metliylpaenyl,
R Wasserstoff, Allcyl mit 1 bis 4 C-Atomen oder Cyanäthyl und
X ein Anion bedeuten, das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß man Verbindungen der Formel II

mit Verbindungen der Formel III

in Gegenwart saurer Kondensationsmittel umsetzt, wobei

Hydroxyalkylreste sind ζ. B. ß-Hydroxyäthyl oder -propvl.
Als Anionen Χθ kommen einfache oder komplexe, anorganische
oder organische Anionen in Betracht, z. B. seien Chlorid, Bromid, Sulfat, Nitrat, Phosphat, Formiat, Acetat, Toluolsulfonat,
Tetrafluoroborat oder Tetrachlorzinkat genannt.
Die Reste D der Diazokomponenten leiten sich vorzugsweise von
Anilin-oder Naphthalinderivaten ab.
Verbindungen der Formel II erhält man durch Umsetzung von Diazoverbindungen von Aminen der Formel IV
D - NH2 IV mit Verbindungen der Formel V

nach an sich bekannten Methoden.
Amine der Formel IV sind beispielsweise:
Anilin, 4-Toluidin, 4-Ohloranilin, 5-(
Anilin-3- oder -4-sulfosäure, 4-Toluidin-2-sulfosäure, 1-Aminonaphthalin-5-sulfosäure oder 2-Aminonaphthalin-4,8-disulfosäure.
Kupplungskomponenten der Formel V sind beispielsweise: 3-Methoxyanilin, 3-Methoxy-N-<ß-cyanäthyl)-anilin, 3-Methoxydiphenylamin,
3-Methoxy-dimethylanilin, 3-Äthoxydiäthylanilin,
2-Methyl-5-methoxyanilin, 2-Methyl-5~methoxy-N-äthylanilin,
2,5-Dimethoxy- oder -diäthoxyanilin, 2.5-Dimethoxy-N-(ß-cyanäthyl)-anilin
oder 3-Äthoxy-4f-methyldiphenylamin.
Verbindungen der Formel III sind z. B.:
3-Dimethylaminophenol, 3-Diäthylaminophenol, 3-Amino-4-methylphenol,
3-Äthylamino-4-n]ethylphenol, 3-N-(ß-Gyanäthyl)-amino-4-methylphenol
oder 3-Dimeth.ylamino-4-methylphenol.

Die Reaktion der Verbindungen der Formel II mit den verbindungen der Formel III in Gegenwart der sauren Kondensationsmittel wird zweckmäßigerweise in organischen Lösungsmitteln,
die Wasser enthalten können, vorgenommen.
Als saure Kondensationsmittel oder Katalysatoren eignen sioh anorganische oder organische Säuren, Komplexsäuren oder Lewissäuren.
Im einzelnen seien beispielsweise Chlorwasserstoff, wässrige Salzsäure, Schwefelsäure, Salpetersäure, Phosphorsäure,
p-Toluolsulfonsäure, Naphthalin-2-sulfonsäure, Phenol,
Zinkchlorid, Eisessig/Ammonacetat, Eisessig/Natriumacetat, Borsäure, komplexe G-lykol- oder G-lycerinborsäuren genannt.
Als Lösungsmittel kommen z. B. in Betracht: Alkohole, wie Äthanol, Propanol oder Isobutanol, Glykole, wie Ä'thylenglykol
oder Diäthylenglykol, Glykoläther, wie Äthylenglykol- oder Diäthylenglykol-monomethyl-, -äthyl- oder -butyläther, Garbonsäuren,
wie Ameisensäure, Essigsäure oder Propionsäure, Carbonsäureamide, wie Formamid, Dimethylformamid oder N-Methy1-pyrrolidon
sowie Acetonitril oder Dimethylsulfoxid.
Die Umsetzung der Komponenten II und III erfolgt bei erhöhter Temperatur, z. B. im ungefähren Bereich von 50 bis 150 0C.
Bevorzugt sind Temperaturen von ungefähr 80 bis 130 C.
Vorteilhaft arbeitet man ungefähr 10 C oberhalb der Temperatur, bei der die Reaktion einsetzt; der Beginn der Umsetzung
ist beim Erhitzen am plötzlichen Temperaturanstieg oder an der Verfärbung zu erkennen und läßt sich auch chromatographisch
verfolgen.
Die Reaktionsgeschwindigkeit kann durch Zusatz geringer Mengen reduzierend wirkender Substanzen, wie Zinkstaub oder Natriumdithionit,
erhöht werden.
Ein Teil der erfindungsgemäß herstellbaren Farbstoffe fällt
direkt aus der Reaktionsmischung aus und kann z. B. durch Absaugen isoliert werden. Bei besser löslichen Farbstoffen kann
man zur Isolierung z. B. das Lösungsmittel abtrennen oder die Reaktionsmischung mit Wasser verdünnen. Die Fällung der

Mineralsalzen wie
Farbsalze wird wie üblich durch Zugabe von Natrium- oder Kaliumchlorid, Natriumsulfat oder -nitrat,
Zinkchlorid oder aromatischen Sulfonsäuren gefördert. Wenn die Farbstoffe primäre oder sekundäre Aminogruppen enthalten,
!rönnen sie mit Natriumhydroxid auch in die Anhydrobasen tiberführt
und so isoliert werden. Mit Säuren erhält man daraus wieder die Parbsalze, die isoliert oder zur Herstellung einer
Flüssigeinstellung verwendet werden !rönnen.
Die Farbstoffe der Formel I eignen sich insbesondere zum Färben sauer modifizierter Synthesefasern aus Polyacrylnitril»
Polyamiden oder Polyestern.
Von besonderer Bedeutung ist das erfindungagemäSe Verfahren
zur Herstellung von Verbindungen der Formel Ia

Die verfahrensgemäß erhältlichen Farbstoffe sind zum Teil bereits aus der Literatur bekannt. Ihre Herstellung erfolgt
im allgemeinen durch Kondensation von 4-Nitroso-anilinderivaten
mit 3-Aminophenolen (DRP 300 253 u. a.). Demgegenüber ermöglicht das neue Verfahren die Verwendung der einfacher ze
handhabenden und zum Teil leichter herstellbaren 2-Alkoxy-4-aminophenylazoverbindungen.
Es ist bereits beschrieben, daß quartäre Phenoxazinfarbatoffe
durch Kondensation von 4-Aminophenyl- oder 2-Hydroxy-4-aminophenylazoverbindungen
mit 3-Aminophenolen erhalten werden können (DRP l^ 250, 81 242, 82 233, 82 921, 87 901). Das

erfindungsgemäße Verfahren verläuft dagegen bei beträchtlich,
tieferer Temperatur unter schonenden Bedingungen, so daß die Endprodukte in höherer Reinheit und Ausbeute erhalten werden.
Sofern nicht anders vermerkt, beziehen sich Angaben über Teile und Prozente in den folgenden Beispielen auf das Gewicht.
35 Teile der aus diazotierter Sulfanilsäure und 2,5-Dimethoxyanilin
erhaltenen Azoverbindung, 20 Teile 3-Diäthylaminophenol
und 20 Teile Ammoniumacetat werden in 130 Teilen Eisessig erwärmt, bis sich durch die bei ungefähr 80 0C einsetzende Wärmeentwicklung
der Reaktionsbeginn anzeigt. Man hält die Temperatur daraufhin noch 40 Minuten bei 85 0O und gießt die
Mischung dann in eine Lösung von 120 Teilen Natriumhydroxid in 1000 Teilen Eiswasser. Die rotbraun ausgefallene Farbbase
wird abfiltriert; im Filtrat ist die zur Herstellung der Azoverbindung verwendete Sulfanilsäure als Natriumsalz enthalten.
Die Parbbase wird in 1500 Teilen Wasser mit 25 Teilen Essigsäure gelöst, nach Zugabe von 3 Teilen Aktivkohle filtriert
und mit 55 Teilen einer 50 #igen Zinkchloridlösung und 400 Teilen Natriumchlorid als Farbsalz gefällt, abfiltriert und getrocknet.
Man erhält 36 Teile eines Farbstoffs, der sich in Wasser mit blauer Farbe löst und auf Polyacrylnitrilfasern
blaue Färbungen von guten Echtheiten ergibt.
17,5 Teile der aus diazotierter Sulfanilsäure und 2,5-Dimethoxyanilin
erhaltenen Azoverbindung und 22 Teile 3-Äthylamino-4-methylphenol
werden in 60 Teilen Äthanol nach Zugabe von 0,35 Teilen Zinkstaub und 11,5 Teilen 1On Salzsäure 2 Stunden
zum Sieden erhitzt. Nach dem Abkühlen saugt man ab, wäscht mit 20 Raumteilen Äthanol und trocknet. Der Farbstoff löst
sich mit violetter Farbe in Wasser und ergibt auf Polyacrylnitrilfasern blauviolette Färbungen.

einer 50 %igen wässrigen ZnGl2-LoSUUg werden in 70 Teilen Isobutanol
3 Stunden unter Rückflußkühlung erhitzt. Man versetzt die Mischung nach dem Erkalten mit 400 Teilen Benzol, saugt
ab, wäscht mit Benzol und trocknet.
Das erhaltene Farbsalz löst sich mit blauer Farbe in Wasser
und färbt Polyacrylnitrilfasern licht- und waschecht grünstichig blau.
17 Teile der Azoverbindung aus diazotiertem 4-Chloranilin und
3-Äthoxydiäthylanilin werden zusammen mit 10 Teilen 3-Diäthylaminophenol
und 15 Teilen 50 ?6iger Zinkchloridlösung in 50 Teilen ß-Hydroxyäthyl-methylather (Äthylenglykolmonomethyläther)
1,5 Stunden auf 120 0C erhitzt. Nach dem Abkühlen saugt
man ab und trocknet. Der Farbstoff entspricht in seinem färberischen Verhalten dem des vorhergehenden Beispiels.
Eine Lösung von 20 Teilen Borsäure in 80 Teilen Glykol wird
bei 160 °0 entwässert. Dazu gibt man nach dem Abkühlen 38 Teile der Azoverbindung aus diazotierter Sulfanilsäure und 3-Methoxydiphenylamin
und 20 Teile 3-Diäthylaminophenol. Man erhitzt 2 Stunden auf 100 0G, verdünnt dann mit 1000 Teilen Wasser
und saugt ab. Das Filtergut wird durch Verrühren mit verdünnter wässriger Natronlauge in die Farbbase überführt. Die
filtrierte Base verrührt man mit 1000 Teilen Wasser und 25 Teilen 1On Salzsäure, gibt dann 100 Teile Natriumchlorid zu,
filtriert und trocknet. Der erhaltene Farbstoff ergibt auf Polyacrylnitrilfasern grünstichig blaue Färbungen mit guten
Echtheitseigenschaften.
Analog den angegebenen Herstellungsmethoden lasaen sich auch
die in der folgenden Tabelle durch Angabe der Substituenten
charakterisierten Farbstoffe gewinnen:

dadurch gekennzeichnet,
