Um Produkte zu erzeugen» die bei normalen Zimmertsinpera—
türen flüssig sind, ist es in vislsr F&llen erforderlich, die
Phoaphorylierurija-Polymeriaationsrealct'or. bsi einer Temperatur
oberhalb -60° C auszuführen. Geeigrete Friadel-Crifta-Katalysatoren
sind bei.-viel-J-vaise Aluu;iriiu;i:cblorid, ^ir.kchlorid, Antiaonohlorid,
Ei3er.(TTT)-clilorid,- Zinn(T¥)-cl:lorid, Titarehlorid, Eortrifluorid

Die Beaktion wird vorzugsv/eise in einei ii erter. Lösungsmittel, wie einevt ehlorierteri Kohlen aas. rs toff, z.B. Methjlerichlorid,

ausgeführt.

Polymerisationsreaktion eil. Friedel-Crafts-Katalysator verwendet

kann» Beispielsweise kanr, wenr·. Alu^initi^ciilorid als der Katalysator verwenet wird, die tirässerige Schicht nach der Hydrolysereaktion
mit Aüüüoniok neutralisiert werden, un· das Aluminiiti-ohloriä
in Alu^iiiiuxJiy: roxyd uiLzuv/andeln, und das Gemisch dann
unter Rückfluß erhitzt werden.-» ua. das Pol/:.er zu neutralisieren.
Die Erfirdunr uiirCaßt auch phosphcrlultige Olefinpolymere '
oder deren Salze, die v,ie oben'beschrieben hergestellt wurden.

Es wird jetzt beispielsweise die Herstellung von drei
Polymeren nach der Erfindung (Polymer fiW7(a), Bt7(b) und MW8(a)
beschrieben. *
Eb wurden die folgenden foakt ions teilnehmer verwerfet t

Ein Gemisch aus 200 ecm Methylenchlorid, 6,497 g AlCl,
und 2,15 ocm PCl5 wurde unter einer Stickstoffatmosphäre auf
-40° C gekühlt. JSs wurde langsam unter Rühren 4-MP-1 zugesetzt
und eine gewisse Reaktion setzte ein. Nachdem auf diese weise
etwa 15 g 4~MP-1 zugesetzt worden waren, wurde die Zusatzgeschwindigkei't
beschleunigt, indem es in Anteilen von etwa 5 g zugesetzt wurde. Ea wurde ein Temperaturanstieg von 30° C erhalten, aber man
ließ den KoIbeninhalt nicht auf über -200C ansteigen. In dem Gefäß
trennte sich Polymer ab. Nach vollständigem Zusatz des 4-MP-1
wurde das Rührer, weitere 2 Stunden, fortgesetzt, wobei man sich
den Inhalt des Kolbens auf 0° C erwärmen ließ.
Die lösung wurde dann über fiaoht stehen gelassen und am
nächsten Moi*ge:tt, wurde festgestellt, daß sie sich von einer
schwachen gelben Farbe in braun verändert·hatte.
Es wurden etwa 50 ecm Wasser un 1ÖÖ ecm CCl. zugesetzt
und daa temisth 1 1/2 Stunden unter Rückfluß erhitzt, um die
Hydrolyse »u vollenden. Die organische Phaee wurde abgetrennt,
dreijBftl-jEit Waj3S<|r gewaschen, über wasserfreiem Na2SO. getrocknet
und unter.Tiäuziertem Druck auf einem Wasserbad verdampft. ■

0,05-0,02 mm Hg auf 200° C erhitzt bis kein leichtes Destillat
•nähr erkalten wurde. Ea wurde ein Stickatoffstrom verweilet.
Das Produkt war ein sehr viskoses Polymer, leicht trübe
und von einer hellbraiinen Farbe.

Die Ee£drtioi>
wurde im wesentlichen wie bei MW7 (ä) attsgeführt
.it den· Unterschied, daß das Anfangs gemisch auf -50° C gekühlt
,vurcle. Der Zusatz von 4-MP-T rief keinen Temperaturanstieg hervor
iin-i 3ohliaClich war das ganze loromer zugesetzt worden. Hüch einer
v/eitere/: Verzögerung vor 15 Minuten setzte dann eine sehr schnelle
Eeu!:tioi; ain, und die Temperatur stieg, wurde aber schnell auf
-50° C reduziert... Es'wurde Polymer gebildet. In diesem IPaIl war
keine Verzögerung zwischen de:: Ende der Reaktion und dea zusatz
το" luu:. .χ- vorhanden. Die Hydrolysereaktion und die Aufarbeitung
-Is- Prod.iktea wurde v;ie bei MW7 (a) ausgeführt, und das Endprodukt
war ein viskoses Polymer, leicht trübe und vor einer hellgelben

Ea .mrae Ba(OH)2. 8H2O (0,325 g, d.h. die dreifache Merge der
für -lie neutralisation erforderlichen) zugesetzt und das Gemisch
eine Stunde unter Rückfluß erhitzt, mit wasserfreiem HA2SO^ gefcrock;·

Das Produkt war eine hellbraune viskose Flüssigkeit, dia
ähnlich wie das Ausgangspolymer attssah. Es hatte ein Barium- s
Phosphorverhältnis von 1^4» welches in Übereinstimmung mit der
Neutralisationszahl des Ausgangspolymers (nicht neutralisiert) MW7 (a) ist, das ein Hydroxyl : Phosphorverhältnis von 1 : 2 hatte.
Die Eigenechafteii der Polymeren MW7 (a), MW7 M und MW8 (a)
sind unten in der Tabelle angegeben. Das Grundül, das für die Viskositäts-
und Viskositätsindexprüfungen verwendet wurde, war ein völlig raffiniertes Schmieröl, das aus einem Middle East Eohb'l
erhalten wurde.
Der Kohlenstooffabla&erungstest gibt einen Anhaltspunkt
für die Öls chlamniabsonde rung verhütenden dispergierenden Eigenschaften
der Polymex'en, indem ihre Fähigkeit, das Absetzen einer
Suspers ion von KohleruS in n-Haptan zu verhindern, gemesaeii "vvir&*
Bsi diesem Test werden 0,05 g des zu prüfenden Materials in ein Prüf rohr von 15,24 x 1,27 cm eingewogen und 10 £.1 n-Heptan zugesetzt;
notigenfalls wird das Material durch Erwärmen gelöst. 0,1 g
amerik&niscxisr pohlenruß "Eosmua BB" werden zu der Lösung zugesetzt
welche kräftig geschüttelt und über· Macht stehen gelassen wird.
Am nächster Tag wird das Prüfrohr lörnal umgekehrt und die Geschwindigkeit,
mit der der Kohlenruß auf der Boden des Prüfrohrs
fällt ist ein Maß für die dispergiereuden Eigenschaften des Materials.
Es wurden vergleichende Abschätzungen gemacht, indeiu die Zeit
gemssen wurde, die eine Kohlenrußschicht braucht, um unter 1,2 cm
Höhe zu sinken. Die Höhe der lösung ist zu Begin 7,5 em. Ohne Additiv war die Zeit, die der K&hlenruß brauchte, tun auf 1,2 cm
abzusinken, annähernd 1 tviinute und mit 0,05 g Poly-4—Methylpenten-1.

Die Wirksamkeit der Polymeren nach der Erfindung im Hinblick auf VI-Verbesserung und ÖlsdöLanunabsonAerung verhütende
diapergierende Eigenschaften ist deutlich aus den in der Tabelle verzeichneten Ergebnissen zu ersehen.
