Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren βατ Herstellung
wertvoller harzartiger Gemisohe, die( insbesondere für Überzüge !•eignet sind.
In de» Patent (Patentanmeldung P 15741 Case 2290) sind harzartige Stoffe beschrieben, die durch Umsetzung eines Aldehyds, insbesondere Ton Formaldehyd, alt einem Mischpolymerisat eines Acrylamide und eines oder mehrerer polymerisierbarer, äthylenisoh un -gesättigter Monomerer, wofür insbesondere Monomere, die eine

Gruppe enthalten, verwendet werden, hergestellt werden. Diese Harse reichen, je nach der Wahl des Monomeren, das zur Herstellung des ^orylamid-Mlechpolymeren, das seinerseits mit dem Aldehyd umgesetst wird, verwendet wird, ron weichen, biegsamen
Materialien bis au sehr harten festen Stoffen.
Als Acrylamide können nioht nur Acrylamid selbst, sondern
auch Methacrylamid und Itaeonaäurediamid verwendet werden. In dem genannten Patent ist ferner ausgeführt, daß wertvolle Übersugsgemische durch Vermengen der mit einem Aldehyd modifizierten Amid-Xlschpolymeren mit einem Bpoxyd- oder einem Alkyd-Harz hergestellt
werden können. Die darin beschriebenen Überzugsgemische eignen sich für derate, wie Herde, Kühlschränke, Klimaanlagen, Waschmaschinen,

Zwar besitzen die In dem Patent beschriebenen Gemische aus
Alkyd- oder Bpoxyd-Harzen und den mit einem Aldehyd modifizierten Amid-Mischpolymeren viele hervorragenden Eigenschaften, doch
haben sie den Naohteil, daß für viele Verwendungsaniecke der anfängliche Glanz und die Glanz-Beständigkeit der Überzüge aus daraus hergestellten Überzugsgemischen nicht befriedigend sind. Uli
den anfänglichen Qlriz und die Glanzbeständigkeit zu verbessern,
sind u.a. kcnpliÄicr·1-* Mahl verfahren verwendet «orden. Dies ist
jedoch zeitraubend und kostspielig.
Bs wurde sr ,gefunden, daß ein ausgezeichneter Anfangs -glänz und (fianzbeständigkeit auf eine sehr wirtschaftliche Weise
dadurch erzielt warden können, daß, gewöhnlich unter Rückfluß, das mit einem Aldehyd modifizierte Amid-Mischpolymerisat vorher
während einer kurzen Zeit entweder mit dem Alkydharz oder mit dem Epoxydharz umgesetzt wird. Das entstandene Harz kann Überzugsgemischen zugesetzt werden, die dadurch einen ausgezeichneten Anfangsglanz erhalten, den sie auch nach langer Lagerungezeit nicht
verlieren. Daher eignen sich die erfindungsgemäß hergestellten Zusammensetzungen insbesondere für solche Verwendungszwecke, die
gute Glänzeigenschaften verlangen.
Die erfindungsgemäß hergestellten Harzgemisch· besitzen
nicht nur ausgezeichnete Glanzeigenschaften, sondern verleihen
den überzugsgemischen, in denen sie verwendet werden, auch eine
aasgezeichnete Kratzfestigkeit, Färb-, Wasser-, Fett-, Hitze-, Rost·»,
Rtinlgungs- und Korrosionsbeständigkeit, sowie eine ausgezeichnete Haftfestigkeit und Biegsamkeit.
Sin weiterer wesentlicher Vorteil der erfindungsgemäß hergestellten Harzgemisohe besteht darin, daß diese bei der Herstellung

gehaltenes Gemisch katalysiert, so tritt innerhalb weniger Tage

Vie vorstehend ausgeführt, wird Acrylamid oder ein anderes polymerisierbars Amid mit einem oder mehreren, äthyleniech ungesättigten Monomeren polymerisiert und das entstandene Mischpolymerisat mit einem Aldehyd umgesetzt, wodurch eine Komponente
der erfindungsgemäßen Überzugegeaisehe entsteht. Der Vorgang,
der zur Bildung dee Amid-Mischpolymerieats führt, ist nioht genau bekannt. Doch kann angenommen werden, dafi dieser mit der ausgangs erfolgenden Bildung eines verhältnismäßig kurzkettlgen,
löslichen Mischpolymerisats beginnt, das die nachstehend aufgeführte Struktur aufweist. Hierbei wird Acrylamid zur Erläuterung verwendet.

Wird Formaldehyd in Form einer Lösung in Butanol oder einem anderen Alkenol verwendet, so kann eine Veresterung eintreten,
die dazu führt, daß mindestens ein Teil der Methylol-Qruppen in
obiger Formel in Gruppen folgender Struktur

umgewandelt werden, wobei die Alkyl-Gruppe sich nach dem ver wendeten
Alkanol bestimmt. Das Ausmaß der Veresterung hängt weitgehend von dem pH-Wert des Reaktionsmediums ab, wobei die Veresterung
durch saure Bedingungen begünstigt wird. Die Veresterung des Acrylamid-Mischpolymerisats entspricht der üblichen Buty lierung
von Harnstoff- und Melamin-Harzen. Weitere Einzelheiten über das Kondensationsprodukt des Acrylamid-Misehpolymeren, das
zuvor mit dem Alkyd- oder Epoxyd-rHarz umgesetzt wird, werden in
dem oben genannten Patent gegeben.
Vorzugsweise wird der Aldehyd mit einem Mischpolymerisat umgesetzt, das etwa 5 bis etwa 45 Gewichts % Acrylamid und als
Rest das oder die anderen, äthylenisch ungesättigten Monomere/n enthält. Wie gefunden wurde, ergeben solche Mischpolymerisate,
die höhere Acrylamid-Anteile aufweisen, zusammen mit Monomeren, die gewöhnlich harte Homopolymere bilden, harte, biegsame Überzüge,
während Mischpolymerisate mit kleineren Acrylamid-Anteilen zusammen mit Monomeren, die im allgemeinen weiche Homopolymere bilden,
erheblich weicher sind. Wird mehr als ein äthylenisch ungesättigtes Monomeres mit Acrylamid polymerisiert, so hängen die
zu verwendenden Mengenanteile der zusätzlichen Monomeren von den Eigenschaften ab, die ein solches Monomeres oder Monomere dem

fertigen Mischpolymeren verleiht. So kann es beispielsweise in einem ternären Mischpolymerisat-System zweckmäßig sein, etwa 20
Gewichts % Acrylamid und jeweils 40 Gewichts % der beiden zusätzlichen Monomeren, wie Styrol und Butadien zu verwenden. In anderen
Fällen, z.B. dann, wenn Acrylsäure oder eine andere äthylenisch ungesättigte Säure als innerer Katalysator verwendet wird, ist es
angebracht, ein Mischpolymerisat einzusetzen, das etwa 20 % Acrylamid, Insgesamt etwa 72 bis 79 £ der beiden zusätzlichen, äthylenisch ungesättigten Monomeren und etwa 1,0 bis etwa 8,0 % der
ungesättigten Säure enthält. Die bei einer Mischpolymerisation einzusetzende Menge der Monomeren kann leicht durch einfaches Experimentieren festgestellt werden.
Im allgemeinen ist es vorteilhaft, zwei Äquivalente For -maldehyd für jede, in dem Mischpolymeren vorhandene Amid-Gruppe
zu verwenden, obgleich diese Menge erheblich größer sein kann als die zur Bildung der Methylol-Gruppen an der Polymerkette erforderliche Menge. Daher kann das genannte Verhältnis gegebenenfalls erheblich erhöht oder herabgesetzt werden. So kann dieses
Verhältnis zum Beispiel bis zu 3,0 Äquivalente Formaldehyd oder nur etwa 0,2 Äquivalente Formaldehyd je Amid-Gruppe in dem Mischpolymerisat betragen.
Die chemische Struktur des Spoxyd-Harzes, das erfindungs -gemäß vorher mit einem mit einem Aldehyd modifizierten Acrylamid-Mischpolymerisat umgesetzt wird, kann sehr unterschiedlich sein.
Diese Stoffe, die im allgemeinen Polyglycidylether von Bisphenol oder Polyäther-Derivate von mehrwertigen Phenolen mit Epoxyd -Gruppen darstellen, werden gewöhnlich durch Umsetzung von BiS-phenolen mit Epiohlorhydrin gebildet und liegen in Form von viskosen Flüssigkeiten bis zu harten, spröden Harzen tot. Nachstehend
wird eine typische Bpoxy-Harz-Formel wiedergegeben:

esterung abhängige Größe. Das einfachste Epoxy-Harz besitzt außer
den Spoxyd- und Hydroxyl-Gruppen keine f unktionellen Gruppen und
enthält mindestens 4 Kohlenstoff atome. Bin Beispiel hierfür ist
1,2-EpOXy^, 4-epoxy-butan. Bs können auch komplexere Epoxy-Harze
-verwendet werden, wie solche, die durch Umsetzung von 2 oder mehr
Mol eines Diepoxydes mit einem Mol eines zweiwertigen Phenols, oder durch Umsetzung von 3 oder «ehr Hol eines Diepoxydes mit
einem Mol eines dreiwertigen Phenols, sowie Diepoxyde oder PoIyepoxyd,
die sich von mehrwertigen Alkoholen ableiten, wie Sor bitol, Pentaerythritol oder Polyallylalkohol. Phenol-Verbindungen,
die «ur Herstellung von Epoxy-Harzen verwendet werden können, sind:

Besonders vorteilhaft sind die Epoxy-Verbindungen, die durch

Umsetzung von bis (4-Qxyphenyl)--2,2-propan und Epiehlorhydrin
hergestellt «erden, da sie im Handel mit verhältnismäßig geringen Kosten erhältlich sind. Doch können auch andere Epoxy-Verbindungenr verwendet werden, insbesondere dann, wenn besondere Eigenschaften des Harzes verlangt werden.
Die Epoxy-Harze werden häufig durch ihr Molekulargewicht
gekennzeichnet. Hierbei wurde gefunden, daß Epoxy-Harze, deren Molekulargewicht mehr als 200, vorzugsweise etwa 400 bis 1900
beträgt, sich am besten für die erf 1 ndungegeaäflen Produkte eignen. Doch können natürlich auch Epoxyde ■*-* anderen Molekulargewichten verwendet werden.
Die zur Herstellung der erfindungsgeiiäßen Harzgemische
verwendeten Alkyd-Harze entsprechen im allgemeinen den in Überzügen verwendeten Alkyd-Harzen und sind leicht herzustellen. Vorzugsweise werden gesättigte oder halb-gesättigte Alkyde verwendet, und zwar insbesondere solche, die mit Kokosölen oder TaIlölsäuren hergestellt wurden. Die Alkyds sollten so hergestellt
werden, daß sie einen überschüssigen Hydroxyl-Gehalt von 21 bis etwa 25 £ aufweisen, um sie mit des Amld-Mischpolymeren verträglicher zu machen.
Das verwendete Öl ist am zweckmäßigsten Tallöl oder Castoröl. Doch können auch andere trocknende oder halbtrocknende öle,
wie Fischöle, Leinöl, Sojaöl usw. verwendet werden. Es ist ferner möglich, ein Teil der Phtalsäure oder des Phtaleäureanhydrids
in dem Alkyd durch kleinere Mengen äquivlaenter, mehrfunktio -neller Säuren, wie Maleinsäure oder Maleinsäureanhydrid, Fumarsäure, p-tert.-Butylbenzoesäure, Isophtalsäure und dergl. zu ersetzen. Ein Teil des Glycerins kann in gleicher Welse durch kleinere Mengen anderer, mehrfunktioneller Alkohole, wie Pentaerythritol, Trimethylolpropan, Äthylenglykol oder dergl., substituiert
werden. Diese anderen mehrfunktianellen Säuren oder Alkohole sollten natürlich in solchen Mengen verwendet werden, daß die
Alkyd-Harze während der Herstellung gelieren.
Das Alkyd wird normalerweise durch Erwärmen der Phtalsäure oder des entsprechenden Anhydrids und des Glycerins zusammen mit
einem trocknenden Öl-Derivat, das durch Esteraustausch mit GHLy-

cerin modifiziert wurde, um die Monoglyceride oder Diglyceride
der Fettsäuren zu gewinnen. In manchen Fällen wird die Modifi zierung
mit einem Öl so durchgeführt, daß zunächst die freie Fetisäure
eines trocknenden Glyceridöles mit Glycerin zu Mono- oder
Diglyceriden oder deren Gemischen umgesetzt wird. Diesen Teilester
können dann Fettsäure und Glycerin zugesetzt werden, wonach das Gemisch erhitzt wird, um das Alkydharz zu gewinnen. Bas alt Öl
modifizierte Harz kann auch dadurch hergestellt werden, daß der
Phtalsäure oder dem entsprechenden Anhydrid die Fettsäure und das Glycerin zugesetzt werden und daß das Gemisch aufdie Reaktionsteaperatur
erwärmt wird. Die Harz-Komponenten werfen zweckmäßig so lange erhitzt, his sich durch die Kondensation Wasser bildet
und aus der Reaktion abscheidet. Die Umsetzung wird fortgesetzt, bis die Tiekosität recht hoch ist, d.h. bis sie etwa den Haß einheiten
V bis Z entspricht oder höher ist, wenn das Harz mit
etwa 50 Gewichts^igem Xylol oder einem entsprechenden aromatischen
Lösungsmittel verdünnt ist.
Gemische des mit einem Aldehyd modifizierten Amid-Hischpolymerisat
und eines Alkyd- oder Epoxyd-Harzes, die einen gcften
Anfangsglanz besitzen und diesen nach langer Lagerung nicht verlieren, werden dadurch hergestellt, daß das Amid-Mischpolymerisat
and das Bpoxyd- oder Alkyd-Harz während einer verhältnismäßig
kurzen Zeit, z.B. während etwa 30 Hinuten bis 3 Stunden auf Rückflußtemperatur
erhitzt werden. Besonders geeignete Gemische werden gewonnen, wenn das Umsetzungsgemisch während etwa einer Stunde
unter Rückfluß gehalten wird. Die Rückflußtemperatur hängt offensichtlich von dem einzelnen, in dem Verfahren verwendeten
Amid-Mischpolymerisat und Epoxyd- oder Alkydharz ab. Gewöhnlich
jedoch liegt die Rückfluß temperatur der verschiedenen Gemische
bei etwa 115 bis 130° . Mit fortschretendem Bückfluß erhöht sich
die Viskosität des Gemisches um etwa 3 bis 10 Buchstaben auf der Gardner-Holdt-Skala. Diese geringe Erhöhung wird auf die in kleinerem
Maße stattfindende Umsetzung zwischen dem Amidharz and das Bpoxyd- oder Alkydharz zurückgeführt.
Die Mengen des mit einem Aldehyd modifizierten Ataid-Mischpolymerisats
und des Alkyd- oder Epoxydharzes, die erfindungsgemaß
unter Rückfluß gehalten werden, können erheblich variieren. Die

verwendete Menge des Amid-Mischpolymerisats kann beispielsweise
etna 10 Gewichts % oder noch weniger, bis zu 90 Gewichts # oder
■ehr betragen, wobei der Rest des Gemisches von dem Epoxyd- oder
Alkydharz gebildet wird. Soll ein Gemisch aus einem mit einem ▲mid veränderten Mischpolymerisat und einen Alkydharz unter Rückfluß gehalten werden, so enthält dieses Gemisch vorzugsweise etwa
25 bis 95 Gewichts % Imid-Mischpolymerisat, wobei das Alkydharz
den jeweiligen Best bildet. Wird hingegen das Amid-Misehpolymerisat mit einem Epoxydharz unter Rückfluß gehalten, so ist das
Amidharz vorzugsweise in einer Menge von etwa 90 bis 95 Gewichts i»
vorhanden, wobei der Rest des Gemisches nun von dem Epoxydharz gebildet wird.
Die nachstehenden Beispiele erläutern im einzelnen die
Herstellung beständiger harzartiger Zusammensetzungen, bestehend aus einen unter Rückfluß gehaltenen Gemisch eines mit einem Amid
modifizierten Mischpolymerisats mit einem Bpoxyd- oder Alkyd -harz.
In Beispiel A wird zunächst die Herstellung der erfindungsgemäß zu verwendenden Ausgangsstoffe erläutert.
Mit einen Aldehyd modifizierte Amid-Mischpolymerisate wurden dadurch hergestellt, daß die polynerisierbaren Monomeren in
Butanol genischt, ein Teil des Katalysators zugesetzt und das entstandene Genisch 6 Stunden lang erhitzt wurde. Dabei wurde
nach jeweils zwei Stunden ein weiterer feil des Katalysators zugefügt. Mach sechsstündigem Rückfluß wurde eine 40 £-ige Formaldehyd-Lösung in Butanol in einer Menge zugesetzt, daß je Mol
des anfwfigB eingesetzten Acrylamide 2 Mol Aldehyd vorhanden waren.
Maleinsäureanhydrid wurde als Katalysator der Umsetzung zwischen den Aldehyd und den Aorylamid-Mischpolymeren zugefügt. Das entstandene Gemisch wurde dann noch einmal während drei Stunden unter Rückfluß gehalten, wonach die Hälfte des Butanole abdestilliert und durch Xylol oder andere aromatische Kohlenwasserstoff-Lösungsmittel ersetzt. Bas aus obigen Bestandteilen erhaltene Alkydharz hatte eine
Gardner-Yiskosität Q-, ein Gewicht je Liter von 1,007 kg bei
einem Feststoff gehalt von insgesamt 58,3 %, eine Parbbe ständig -keit nach Gardner von 4 und einen Säure-Wert von 9,6.
In den nachfolgenden Beispielen «erden die erfindungsgeaä0en
Zusammensetzungen erläutert·
Bezogen auf die jeweilige Feststoffbasis, wurden 100 Gewichtsteile des Amid-4üscopolymerisate B und 100 Gewichtsteile
Alkydharz D mit einem Lösungsmittelgemisch, das 50 £ aromatisches
Rohbenzin, 25 % eines aliphatischen Rohbenzins und 25 % Butyl -alkohol enthielt, vermischt. Bas entstandene Gemisch wurde eine
Stunde lang bei etwa 130 unter Rückfluß gehalten und dann ge -kühlt, wonach ein Produkt mit folgenden Eigenschaften erhalten
wurde:

Die nach diesem Beispiel unter Rückflußbedingungen erhaltene
harzartige Zusammensetzung wurde zu einem Überzugsgemisch verarbeitet, das folgende Bestandteile in den angegebenen Mengen enthielt:

Obige Beetandteile wurden 18 Stunden in einer gewöhnlichen
Kugelmühle gemahlen, wonach 512 Teile des unter Rückfluß gehaltenen Amid-Misehpolymer- und Alkydharz-Gemisehes, 22 Teile Rohbenzin und 6 Teile Oellosolve-aoetat zugefügt wurden. Bs wurden
378 1 einer weißen Emaille erhalten. Diese hatte einen Feststoffgehalt Ton insgesamt 62 %, eine Viskosität τοη 55-60 Sekunden in
einer Ford Cup No. 4 und ein in Gewichtsteilen angegebenes Verhältnis τοη Pigment zu Bindemittel τοη 1,2/1,0. Die Emaille wurde in
einer solchen Dicke auf Metallplatten aufgewalzt, daß 25,8 om des Überzugs 45 bis 50 mg wogen und 10 Minuten bei 350 gebacken.
Der Anfangeglanz des Überzugs ist viel stärker als der, den man erhält, wenn das Amid-Miechpolymerisat und das Alkydharz in kaltem
Zustand gemischt werden. Ferner behält die nach diesem Beispiel hergestellte Emaille ihre Glanzbeständigkeit bei Lagerung in ver -paoktem Zustand, während die kalt-gemischten Zusammensetzungen
anlaufen und ihren Glanz beim Abstellen verlieren. Außer dem ausgezeichneten Anfangsglanz und der außerordentlich guten Glanz -beständigkeit besitzen die Zusammensetzungen, die unter Rückfluß -bedingungen aus dem Alkyd und dem Acrylamid-Mischpolymeren gewonnen
wurden, noch folgende wertvolle Eigenschaften: 1) Ausgezeichnete Farbbeständigkeit bei großer Hitze. 2) Gute Stoßfestigkeit
und Biegsamkeit. 3) Gute Härte und Zähigkeit.
Wird eine ähnliche Zusammensetzung mit einem weiteren Zusatz τοη Alkydharz hergestellt, so daß der Alkyd-Gehalt ins -gesamt 25 bis 40 % beträgt, dann besitzen die entstandenen Emaillen
nicht die Stoßfestigkeit und Biegsamkeit der naoh vorstehender Beschreibung hergestellten Emailles, sie sind andererseits jedoch
im allgemeinen härter und rostbeständiger und besitzen einen größeren chemischen Widerstand.
Bezogen auf die jeweilige Pestetoffbasis, wurden 100 Gewichtsteile des Acrylamid-Mischpolymerisats A und 100 Gewichtsteile Alkydharz C etwa eine Stunde lang bei 130° unter Rückfluß
gehalten, wonach ein beständiges harzartiges Gemisch mit einem Säure-Wert τοη 6,5, einer Gardner-Viskosität T-V, einer Farbbe-

■tändigkeit naeb Gardner von 10-11 und einem Gewicht von 0,972 kg/l
gewonnen wurde.
Die auf diese Veite unter Rückfluß hergestellte Harzzusammensetzun& *urde unter Verwendung nachstehender Bestandteile au
einer weißen Valz-Soaille verarbeitet:

Obiges Gemisch wurde in einer Kugelmühle 18 Stunden lang gemahlen. Dünn wurde die MUhIe geöffnet und weitere 235,82 kg des
unter RUofcflußbedingungen gewonnenen Her »gemische β, 2,268 kg
Oelloeolve-aoetat und weitere 9,977 kg Rohbenzin wurden zugefügt.
Das entstandene Gemisch hatte eine Viskosität von 55-60 Sekunden in einer ford Oup Kr. 4, einen fest st off gehalt von 61 % und
•in Gewioht von 1,31 kg/1. Das Gemisch wurde dann so auf eine
Sinnplatte aufgewalzt, daft 25,8 cm des Überzugs ein Gewicht von
49-50 mg hatten, und 10 Minuten bei 176° gebacken. Der überzug
war gut ausgeführt, hatte «ine gute Farbe und Farbbestandigkeit mach dem überbacken und hielt an Büohsenenden den Sterilisierungs-▼•rauchen atand.
Bs wurden ähnliohe Gemieche hergestellt, wobei der Alkyd-Anteil το« ttvft 10 bis 70 Gewiohts % variierte. Alle Gemisohe be-•eJen ausgezeichnete Eigenechaften, doch eohien das Gemisch, das
50 Gewichts ft Alkydharz enthielt, überragend zu sein.
Bezogen auf die jeweilige featoffbaeis, wurden 95 GewJ.ohts
teile des Aorylamid-Misohpolymeren B und 5 Gewichteteile eines
im Handel als Bpon 1001 bekannten Bpoxy-Harzes eine Stunde lang
in einem Gemisch, das zu 47,5 % aus Butanol, zu 47,5 % aus Rohbenzin und zu 5 % aus Xylol besteht, bei 115° unter Rückfluß
gehalten, wonach eine harzartige Zusammensetzung mit einem Fest-

Zeit ausgezeichnet. Ferner besaJ diese Zusammensetzung eine ausgezeichnete Farbbeständigkeit nach dam überbacken, eine gute
Anfangsfarbe and Stoßfestigkeit sowie eine gate allgemeine chemisch· Widerstandsfähigkeit. Sie eignet sich daher für Aulenüber -züge auf Trommeln, Zinndoeen und ähnliohen Metallgegenetänden.
Bin weiterer Vorzug dar erfindungegemäfi hergestellten Hara-SUSammenaetzungen liegt, wie bereite erwähnt, darin, dal diese
bei der Herstellung Mit einer Säure katalysiert warden können, während die nioht unter Rückfluß gehaltenen Harzzusammensetzungen
durch Säure-Katalyse verschlechtert werden. Um dies nachzuweisen,
worden zwei solcher Gemische unter Verwendung τοη Acrylamid-Mlschpolymer B hergestellt. Sines dieser Gemische (mit "X11 beseiohnet) wurde naoh dem Verfahren des Beispiels IV mit, bezogen
auf die Feststoffbasis, 5 Gewichts £ eines Epoxy-Harzes unter
Rückfluß gehalten. Das andere Gemisch (mit "Y" bezeichnet) wurde

mit 5 Gewichts % eines Bpoxy-Harzes, bezogen auf die Feststoff -basis, gemischt, ohne dabei unter Rückfluß gehalten zu werden.
Beide Gemische wurden anschließend zu einem weißen und mit Phosphorsäure katalysiert (3,0 H, bezogen auf die Harzfeststoffe). Der
Glanz wurde in bestimmten Zeitabständen mittels eines 60 - Glanzaessers nach Gardner gemessen. Der Glanz des nicht unter Rückfluß
gehaltenen Gemisches Y verringerte sich bei dem Säure-Zusatz von 87 auf 81, während der des unter Rückfluß gehaltenen Gemisches
von 89 auf 87 fiel. In jedem Falle wurde die zweite Messung nach siebentägiger lagerung bei 59° gemessen. Das unter Rückfluß gehaltene Harzgemisch X behielt seinen ursprünglichen Glanz, während
der Glanz des nicht unter Rückfluß gehaltenen Gemisches Y von 81 auf 62 sank.
Das Verhältnis von Epoiy-Harz zu dem Aorylamid-Mischpolymerisat kann auch in dem unter Rückfluß gehaltenen Gemisch variieren.
Wird jedoch die Menge des Epoxy-Harzes wesentlich verändert, so
kann es erforderlich werden, das Acrylamid-Mischpolymergemisch entsprechend zu verändern, um ein Material mit günstigsten überzugseigenschaften zu gewinnen.
Werden obige Beispiele unter Verwendung von mit einem Aldehyd modifizierten Acrylamid-Mischpolymerisat von sehr verschieden -artiger Monomer-Zusammensetzungen wiederholt, oder werden Epoxy-Harze von unterschiedlichem Molekulargewicht verwendet, oder werden aus anderen Säuren oder Öle hergestellte Harze verwendet, so
gewinnt man Gemische, die einen ausgezeichneten Anfangsglanz und eine überragende Glanzbeständigkeit besitzen. Werden jedoch die
gleichen Materialien nicht nach dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren unter Rückflußbedingungen , sondern kalt gemischt, so ist der Anfangsglanz daraus hergestellter Überzugsgemische sehr gering, sie
laufen bei Lagerung stark an und verlieren an Glanz.

Patentansprüche:
{ \l Verfahren zur Herstellung von modifizierten synthetischen
Überzugsgemischen aus der Komponente (A), einem Mischpolymerisat aus einem Acrylamid mit mindestens einem anderen
CH2 = C <C Monomeren, wobei das Mischpolymerisat mit einem Aldehyd
umgesetzt wurde, und der Komponente (B), d.h. einem Bpoxyd-
oder Alkyd-Harz nach Patent ( Patentanmeldung P 15741 Case 2290, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Mischpolymerisat (A) and das
Epoxyd- oder Alkyd-Harz (b), bevor sie zu dem Gemisch verarbeitet werden, miteinander umgesetzt werden.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Aldehyd Formaldehyd verwendet wird.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die vorherige Umsetzung der genannten Komponenten unter
Bückflußbedingungen erfolgt.
4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 3r dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Komponenten mindestens während 30 Minuten unter Rück fluß
gehalten werden.
5# Verfahren nach Anspruch 1-4, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß als Komponente B ein Bpoxyd-Harz mit einem Molekulargewicht von etwa 400 bis 1900 verwendet wird.
6. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1-5, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß als Komponente A ein Mischpolymeres aus Acrylamid, ithyl acrylat
und Styrol verwendet wird.

7. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1-6, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß das in dem Mischpolymeren vorhandene Acrylamid in einer Menge von etwa 5 bis 45 Gewichts #, bezogen auf die Monomeren,
verwendet wird.
