Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft die Verwendung.gewisser
N-substituierter Melamine als synthetische Schmiermittel und/oder als hydraulische Flüssigkeiten, sowie StoffZusammenstellungen,
die neben erfindungsgemäss verwendbaren Melaminderivaten
auch andere übliche mineralische und/oder synthetische Flüssigkeiten, sowie übliche Antioxydantien, Verdickungsmittel, stockpunkterniedrigende
Mittel, Hochdruckadditive und/oder Korrosionsschutzmittel enthalten. Die Erfindung betrifft auch Verfahren
zum Schmieren oder hydraulischen Antrieb von Maschinen oder Maschinenteilen, sowie neue als Schmiermittel und/oder hydraulische
Flüssigkeiten verwendbare Melaminderivate.
An synthetische Schmiermittel und hydraulische Flüssigkeiten, wie sie zum Beispiel in Gasturbinen der Flugzeugmotoren, öler bei
den modernen Hochtemperaturapparaturen der mechanischen und elektrischen Industrien benötigt werden, werden sehr hohe Anforderungen
bezüglich Hitzebeständigkeit gestellt.
Um für Flugzeuggasturbinen brauchbar zu sein, müssen synthetische
Schmiermittel in erster Linie folgende Bedingungen erfüllen:
1) Sie müssen befähigt sein,'auf. den verschiedensten Metallen
einen Schmierfilm zu bilden;
2) Sie müssen wenig flüchtig und gegen Hitze weitgehend beständig sein;

3) Sie sollen nicht korrodieren:; wirken und vor allem keine
sauren Zersetzungsprodukte bilden;
A) Sie sollen ihre Schmiereigenschaften über einen möglichst
grossen Temperaturbereich beibehalten, d.h. ihre Viskosität soll von der Temperatur möglichst wenig abhängig sein;
5) Sie sollen zusammen mit diesen Eigenschaften einerseits einen
möglichst tiefen Erstarrungspunkt und andererseits einen möglichst
hohen Siedepunkt besitzen.
Es ist schwierig, Stoffe zu finden, die alle diese Erfordernisse so weitgehend erfüllen, dass sie beispielsweise als Schmiermittel
für Gasturbinen in Betracht kommen. Die herkömmlichen
Schmiermittel auf Estergrundlage sind hinsichtlich ihrer Flüchtigkeit und Hitzebeständigkeit, und die Schmiermittel auf Kohlenwassers
toffgrundlage hinsichtlich ihrer Flüchtigkeit, ihres Erstarrungspunktes
und der Temperaturabhängigkeit ihrer Viskosität (ASTM-slope) den Anforderungen der modernen Motoren, insbesondere
Flugzeugmotoren, nicht gewachsen.
Es wurde nun überraschenderweise gefunden, dass gewisse
am Stickstoff der Aminogruppen geeignet substituierte Melamine die oben geforderten Eigenschaften besitzen und darum als hydraulische
Flüssigkeiten für hohe Beanspruchungen und als synthetische Schmiermittel für einen besonders weitgespannten
Temperaturbereich verwendbar sind.
Bei den erfindungsgemäss verwendbaren Kelar.inen handelt es
sich um bei den Anwendungsbedingungen flüssige bis fettart!ge
N,N1 ,!!"-substituierte Melamine, die insgesamt mindestens A Stickstof
f subs ti tuent en aufweisen, welche aus gegebenenfalls inert weitersubstituierten Kohlenwasserstoffres ten und gegebenenfalls

Stickstoff sitzende Substituenten, gegebenenfalls unter Einschluss
von weiteren Heteroatomen, auch ringförmig verbunden
sein können, oder von Gemischen solcher N,N' ,!!"-substituierter
Melamine.
Die Erfindung beruht auf der Erkenntnis, dass insbesondere
solche N,N1,N"-substituierte Melamine von flüssiger bis fettartiger Beschaffenheit sind, welche
a) -in Bezug auf die Substitution der Stickstoffatome unsymmetrisch
sind, und
b) als Stickstoffsubstituenten gesättigte Kohlenwasserstoffreste enthalten. Neben diesen Substltuenten sollen die K,N'^"-substituierten
Melaminderivate insbesondere höchstens einen ein- oder
mehrkernigen gegebenenfalls inert weitersubstituierten aromatischen Rest, oder einen heterocyclischen Rest aufweisen, während die übrigen
Stickstoffsubstituenten aliphatischer, cycloaliphatlscher, oder araliphatischer Art sein sollen, wobei zwei am gleichen Stickstoff
sitzende Substituenten, gegebenenfalls unter Einschluss von weiteren
Heteroatomen, auch ringförmig verbunden sein können. Als günstige unsymmetrische Substitution wurde beispielsweise das
Vorhandensein eines Diphenylätherrestes als Stickstoffsubstituent,
vorzugsweise neben gesättigten Kohlenwasserstoffresten als weitere
Stickstoffsubstituenten und ferner das Vorhandensein des Restes einer gesättigten cyclischen Stickstoffbase erkannt. Besonders
wertvolle Eigenschaften weisen solche erfindungsgemäss verwendbare
N5N1,N"-substituierte Melamine auf, welche fünf oder vorteilhaft
sechs Stickstoffsubstituenten enthalten. Als günstig hat sich auch die Anwesenheit von mindestens einer Di-n-butylaminogruppe
erwiesen, wobei ganz allgemein festzustellen ist, dass unverzweigte Alkylgruppen den verzweigten vorzuziehen sind.

Die bevorzugte unsymmetrische Substitution der Stickstoffatome
kann, abgesehen von den bereits besprochenen Fällen, beispielsweise darin bestehen, dass verhältnismässig niedere Alkyl- oder
Cycloalkylgruppen mit höheren Alkylgruppen, etwa üecyl- oder Dodecylgruppen oder mit Aralkylgruppen wie Benzyl- oder Jodecyl«
benzylgruppen kombiniert sind. Die angestrebte geringe Flüchtigkeit erfindungsgemäss 'verwendbarer Melamine ist dann in besonders
günstigem Ausmass vorhanden, wenn die minimale Kohlenstoffzahl
aller Stickstoffsubstituenten 16 beträgt. Als Kohlenwasserstoffreste
kommen somit beispielsweise Alkylgruppen und zwar sowohl niedere Alkylgruppen wie Methyl-, Aethyl-, Propyl-, Butyl- oder
Hexylgruppen als auch höhere Alkylgruppen,.wie Octyl-, Decyl-,
Dodecyl-, Tetradecyl-, Hexadecyl- oder Octadecylgruppen, ferner Cycloalkylgruppen, wie die Cyclohexylgruppe, Aralkylgruppen, wie
die Benzylgruppe, und Arylgruppen, wie die 'Phenyl-, Diphenyl-, Phenalkylphenyl- oder Naphthylgruppen in Frage.
Sind diese Kohlenwasserstoffreste inert weitersubstituiert,
dann enthalten sie Elemen-te oder Gruppen, die den Charakter der
Kohlenwasserstoffreste möglichst wenig verändern. In aliphatischen
und in cycloaliphatischen Resten handelt es sich insbesondere um in die Kette oder den Ring eingebaute Heteroatome, wie zweiwertigen
Sauerstoff oder Schwefel, oder um Aminostickstoff. Diese
Heteroatome können auch als Brückenglieder in 2-kernigen aromatischen Subs tituenten, wie beispielsweise in Diphenyläther- oder
in Di phenylsulfid-Subs ti tuenten oder als Bindegliede,r zwischen
aromatischen und aliphatischen Resten auftreten. Solche Heteroatome enthaltende Subs tituenten sind beispielsweise Alkoxyalkyl-,
Alkylmerkaptoalkyl-, see. und tert. Aminoalkyl-, Alkoxyrhenyl-,
Alkylmerkaptophenyl-, Phenoxyphenyl- oder Phenylmerkantorhenylgruppen.

Sind aromatische Ringe der Stickstoffsubstituenten inert
weitersubstituiert, dann enthalten sie beispielsweise Alkylgmppen,
wie die Methyl-, Aethyl-, tert.Butyl-, iso-Octyl-, Nonyl-, Dodecyl-
oder Octadecylgruppe oder Halogene, wie Fluor, Chlor oder Brom.
Atigesehen von substituierten, insbesondere alkylsubstituierten
Aminogruppen enthalten die Stickstoffsubstituenten er-, findungsgemäss verwendbarer Melamine vorzugsweise keine 'funktioneilen
Gruppen, insbesondere keine sauren, salzbildenden und keine in solche überführbaren Substituenten, beispielsweise
weder Sulfonsäure- noch Carboxyl-, noch Sulfonsäureester-,noch
Carbonsäureester-, noch Sulfamoyl-, noch Carbamoyl-, noch Cyangruppen.
Als heterocyclische Reste sind beispielsweise solche zu nennen, die sich von fünf- oder sechsgliedrigen,· gegebenenfalls
inert weitersubstituierten und/oder ankonderisierte Aromaten
enthaltenden tertiären Stickstoffbasen, wie Pyridin oder ChinolLn
ableiten.
Sind zwei am gleichen Stickstoff sitzende Substituenten
ringförmig verbunden, so bilden sie beispielsweise den Pyrrolidin-, Piperidin-, Morpholin-, Hexamethylenimin-, N'-Alkylpiperazinring.
Die teilweise bekannten, erfindungsgemäss verwendbaren
H,N1 ,!!"-substituierten Melamine sind durch stufenweise Umsetzung
der 3 Chloratome des Cyanurchlorids mit primären oder sekundären organischen'Aminen nach an sich bekannten Methoden leicht herstellbar.
Man setzt in erster und/oder zweiter Stufe weniger roaktionsfreudige
Amine und in dritter Stufe die leicht reagierenden Amine um. Die Umsetzung wird zweckmässig in inerten organischen Lösungsund

phatischen oder alieyclischen Aethern, wie Dibutyläther, Tetrahydrofuran oder Dioxan oder aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen oder Halogenkohlenwassers

benzol, in Gegenwart säurebindender Mittel bei passenden Temperaturen durchgeführt. Als säurebindende Mittel kann man beispielsweise
die Alkalimetallsalze niederer Fettsäuren, wie Natriumacetat, ferner diejenigen schwächerer mehrbasischer Säuren, wie Natrium- oder
Kaliumcarbonat, Natrium oder Kaliumhydrogencarbonat, und in geeigneter
Dosierung und Form auch Älkalihydroxyde sowie tertiäre
Stickstoffbasen, wie.Triäthylamin, Triäthanolamin, Pyridin usw.
verwenden. Man'arbeitet bei der Umsetzung des ersten Chlors des Cyanurchlorids zweckmässig bei tieferen Temperaturen bis zu 150C,
bei der Umsetzung des zweiten Chloratoms bei mittleren Temperaturen bis zu 600C. und bei der Umsetzung des dritten Chloratoms, wenn
nötig, bei höheren Temperaturen, wobei man oft zweckmässig überschüssiges Amin als säurebindendes Mittel verwendet. An aliphatischen
Aminen können beispielsweise primäre und sekundäre Amine mit normalen und/oder verzweigten Alkylgruppen von 1 bis
20 Kohlenstoffatomen,mit Alkenylgruppen von 3 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen,
mit Alkoxyalkylgnippen von 3 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen, mit
Aminoalkylgruppen mit zweckmässig einer tertiären Aminogruppe,
beispielsweise einer Dialkylamino-, Diaralkylamino-, Dicycloalkylamino-,
Alkylaralkylamino-, Alkylarylamino-, Polymethylenimino-, Morpholino- oder N'-Alkylpiperidinogruppe verwendet werden. An
alieyclischen Aminen kann man beispielsweise Cyclopentylamin, Cyclohexylamin,
Cycloheptylamin, Dihydroabietinylamin, und als sekundäre Amine dieser Reihe beispielsweise die entsprechenden bis- .
alieyclischen Amine- oder auch sekundäre Alkyl-cycloalkyl-, Aralkylcycloalkyl-
oder Phenylcycloalkylamine verwenden.

Als primäre aromatische Amine kommen beispielsweise Anilin, Chlor- oder Bromanilin, Alkylanlline wie Toluidine,
Xylidine, t,Butyl- oder t.Amylaniline, Aminotetrahydronaphthaline,
Aminodiphenyle, Aminodiphenylalkane, Aminodiphenylamine,
Aminodiphenyläther, Aminodiphenylthioäther und als sekundäre
Amine dieser Reihe entsprechende am Aminstickstoff alkylierte
oder aralkylierte oder alicyclisch substituierte Verbindungen ™
in Betracht.
Die erfindungsgemäss verwendbaren N ,N1 ,N"-s-ijstituierten
Melanine können Gemische von primären, sekundären und tertiären Aminen enthalten. Sie lassen sich dank ihrer grossen Wärmestabilität
leicht durch Destillation im Hochvakuum in reiner Form gewinnen· Die Reinigung der Melaminderivate kann auch durch
Extraktion mit einem selektiven Lösungsmittel wie Essigsäure, durch Behandlung mit einer Bleichererde wie Tonsil AC oder einer
Absorptionserde wie Celite FC oder mit einem Jonen-Austauscher
wie Amberlite IR 120 durchgeführt werden.

Die erfindungsgemäss verwendbaren N,N1,NM-substituierten
Melamine sind wenig flüchtige OeIe oder von fett- bis wachsähnlioher
Konsistenz und zeichnen eich durch hohe Thermostabilitttt
aus, da sie sich erst oberhalb 380° zersetzen. Hierin unterscheiden sie sich vorteilhaft von den besten bisher für diese Zwecke
verwendeten Produkte, nämlich den Triestern höherer Fettsäuren mit Trimethylolpropanj diese sind schon ab Temperaturen von 3200C
unbrauchbare Ferner sind die erflndungsgemässen Schmiermittel
und hydraulischen Flüssigkeiten gegen Hydrolyse beständiger als die bisher verwendeten Schmiermittel auf Estergrundlage.
Dann bilden sie, selbst unter den extremen Testbedingungen, wie sie für Gasturbinenöle für Flugzeugmotoren vorgeschrieben
sind, kaum saure Zersetzungsprodukte. So haben beispielsweise die aus dem 2,4-Bis-diäthylamino-6-octylamino-l,3,5-triazin
(vergleiche Verbindung No. 1 der nachfolgenden Tabelle I) nach 6-stUndigem Verweilen bei einer Temperatur von 38O0C entstehenden
flüchtigen Verbindungen und auch der Rückstand einen Säurewert von nur 1 mg KOH/g, bzw. 0,7 mg KOH/g, d.h. sowohl die flüchtigen
Verbindungen als auch der Rückstand, die aus der Verbindung No. 1 der Tabelle I bei mehrstündigem Verweilen in der Hitze entstehen,

sind praktisch neutral, während die aus Trimethylolpropantripelargonat
unter den gleichen Bedingungen entstehenden flüchtigen Substanzen einen Säurewert von 117,3 mg KOH/g haben.
Auch liegt der Entzündungspunkt der erfindungsgemäss verwendbaren
Melamine günstig. Er wurde nach ASTM-Designation: D 93-58 (The Amerioan Society For Testing Materials, 1915 Race St. PhiIa- ;
delphia 3, PA) bestimmt. Er beträgt für die besägte Verbindung Ho 1
der Tabelle I 30O0C und liegt somit höher als derjenige der Sebacate.

Ferner ist die Dichte erfindungsgemäss verwendbarer. Melamine günstig, beträgt sie doch beispielsweise bei 25° C für die Verbindung
No. 43 in der nachfolgenden Tabelle I nur 0,88 und für
die Verbindung Nr. 59 in derselben Tabelle nur 0,85, Die Dichten
herkömmlicher Schmiermittel auf Estergrundlage liegen höher.
Vor bisher bekannt gewordenen und als Turbinenschmieröle empfohlenen Stoffen, wie beispielsweise den ortho-Phosphorsäureestern
organischer Hydroxylverbindungen, zeichnen rie sich durch
viel geringere Korrosionswirkung, vor Estern höherer Polycarbonsäuren
mit Polyälkoho-len durch geringere Quellwirkung auf Kunststoffe,
wie beispielsweise auf hochmolekulare Copolymere aus Butadien und Acrylnitril,. (z.B. HYCAR 38 der Firma Goodrich in Arkon, Ohio, USA),
vor Estern aus Pentaerythrit und Monocarbonsäuren mittlerer Ketten-
länge durch erheblich geringere Ausscheidung von Verharzungs- und "
Verkohlungsprodukten aus. Gegenüber all diesen bekannten Schmiermitteln
zeichnen sich·erfindungsgemäss verwendbare KelaminverkLndungen
auch dadurch aus, dass sie bei guten Tief tempera tureigen«-
Uöhsften besonders bei hohen Temperaturen sehr beständig sind. Vor
den teilweise ebenfalls thermostabilen Siliconölen zeichnen sie sich
ferner durch einen besseren Schmiereffekt aus und gegenüber den

Polyphenyläthern durch" tieferen Stockpunkt und deshalb Verwendbarkeit
in heute üblichen Motoren. Bemerkenswert ist auch die sehr gute Säure- und Alkalibeständigkeit der erfindungs- ' «
gemäss verwendbaren Kelaminderivate. In flüssigem Zustand zeigen ·
erfindungsgemäss verwendbare Kelaminderivate eine mittlere bis
hohe Viskosität; ihr grosser Vorteil besteht *darin, dass diese Viskosität wenig temperaturabhängig ist.
Die erfindungsgemäss verwendbaren Melamine können als Kehrzweckschmiermittel
verwendet werden. Für einen gegebenen Zweck erwünschte Eigenschaften kann man auch durch Herstellung geeigneter
Gemische dieser Ke.lamine erhalten.
Die erfindungsgemässen verwendbaren Melamine eignen sich
darum zum Schmieren von harten Oberflächen, weil sie bei der Berührung mit diesen Oberflächen festhaftende Oberflächenfilme
bilden, beispielsweise zum Schmieren der Oberfläche von Metallen sowie deren Legierungen, der Oberflächen von Silikaten, wie zum
Beispiel von Gläsern, sowie von anderen schmierbedurftigen Materialien, wie zum Beispiel von Dichtungsringen aus Gummi.
Die arfindungsgemäss verwendbaren K,N1,N"-substituierten
Melamine LÖnnen für sich allein verwendet werden; sie können aber
auch Zusätze enthalten. So werden sie, wenn sie zwecks Ausnutzung
ihrer günstigen Hitzestabilität oberhalb 1500C angewendet werden
sollen, zweckmässig mit Antioxydantien vermischt, pm die ab
dieser .Temperatur einsetzende Autoxydation zu verhindern.
Als Antioxydantien kommen homo- oder heterocyclische aromatische
Amine, hydroxylsubstituierte Aromaten, Aminohydroxyarylverbindungen
sowie gewisse heterocyclische Verbindungen in Frage, Unter den Aminen sind im al-lgemeinen die sekundären Mono-

amine, besonders die Diarylamine mit homo- und heterocyclischen aromatischen Resten, sowie die aromatischen Diamine, deren vorzugsweise
sekundäre Aminsubstituenten entweder ortho- oder vorzugsweise
para-Stellungen einnehmen, besonders wertvoll.
Beispiele von homo- und heterocyclischen aromatischen Di-,arylaminen
sind Diphenylamine, Pheny!naphthylamine, Phenylacenaphthenyl-amine
> 4,4'-Dinaphthylaminodiphenyl; Thiazolyl-(2)-naphthylaminej
als aromatische Diamine kommen beispielsweise in Betracht;- NjN'-Diphenyl-p-phenylendiamin, Ν,Ν'-Dioctyl-pphenylendiamin,
N, N · -Di c'yclohexyl-p- phenyl endiamin, N- s ek. Bu tyl- W-phenyl-ρ-phenylendiamin,
N,N'-Bis-(V-aminopropyl)-p-phenylendiamin.
Unter deii hydroxylsubstituierten Aromaten, die besondere
bei nicht zu hohen Arbeitstemperatüren (d.h. unterhalb 200 - 300° C
je nach Typ und Substrat) eingesetzt werden, sind diejenigen mit einer sterisch gehinderten Hydroxylgruppe sowie die Derivate von
Dihydroxyarylverbindungen, deren Hydroxylgruppen in o- oder p-Stellung zueinander stehen,geeignet. Besonders wertvolle Beispiele
brauchbarer Verbindungen sind die Konophenolderivate, wie 2,4-Dimethyl-6-tert.butyiphenol,
2,6-Di-tert.butyl-4-äthylphenol, 216-Bis-(l'-methylcyclohexyl)-4-methyl-phenol, 2,6-Di- tert.butyl-4-dimethylamino-methyl-phenol,
2,2'-Methylen-bis -(4-methyl-6-tert.
butyl-phenol), 2,2l-Thio-bis-(4-methyl-6-tert. butylphenol), 4,4'-Dihydroxy-2,2'-dimethyl-5,5'-dttert.butyl-diphenylsulfid
und -diphenyldisulfid 2,6-Bis-(2'-hydroxy-3'-tert.butyl-5'-methyl-benzyl)-4-methyl-phenol,

Unter den Aminohydroxyarylverbindungen sind diejenigen
Derivate, in denen Amino- und Hydroxylgruppen in p-Stellung zueinander
stehen, besonders geeignet. Beispiele sind: p-Hydr'oxy-' · ■
diphenylamin, p-Hydroxyoctylanilin, p-Hydroxy-N-Y-äminopropylanilin.

Unter den Heterocyclen sind cyclische „Imide am bekanntesten;
daneben kommen aber auch 'stickstoffreie Heterocyclen in Frage,
soweit sie nicht in die Klasse der. heterocyclischen Amine fallen. Beispiele sind: Phenothiazin, Iminodibenzyl, 5-Aethyl-lÖ,10-diphenyl-phenosilazin,
6-Kethoxy- oder^Aethoxy- oder 6-Aethylamino-2,2,4-trimethyl-l,2-dihydro-chinolin
bzw. deren Telomere, 3-Hydroxy-T^-benzo-l^jS^-tetrahydro-chinolin-
oder Tocopherol.
Ferner können erfindungsgemäss verwendbare N,K' ,Iiu-substituierte
Melamine auch Hochdruckadditive, wie Phosphite, Phosphate, geschwefeltes Spermöl usw. Barium- oder Calcium-onahagonisulfonate,
Korrosionsschutzmittel, wie Sarkosine oder'Banztriazole, den
Stockpunkt erniedrigende'Mittel und möglicherweise auch Antischaummittel
auf Siliconbasis enthalten.
Ferner umfasst die Erfindung aus erfindungsgemäss verwend-'baren
Melaminderivaten durch Beifügung-von üblichen Verdickungsmitteln
hergestellte Schmierfette. Als solche Verdickungsmittel kommen beispielsweise Metallseifen, Bentonite, Phthalocyanine,
Violanthrone usw. in Frage.
Die neuen synthetischen Schmiermittel können auch mit anderen Schmiermitteln gemischt werden, beispielsweise mit hochgereinigten
Kineraloelfraktionen oder mit Estern, z.B. solchen von
höheren Fettsäuren mit Polyalkoholen, wie mitw-Trihydroxymethylalkanen,
solchen von höheren Polycarbonsäuren mit Alkanolen oder "

mit den Estern der qrtbo-Kieselsäure mit 2-Aethylhexanol oder

Schmiermitteln, und zwar in irgendwelchen beliebigen zweckentsprechenden Verhältnissen, soweit diese mit den erfindungsgemässen
Schmiermitteln mischbar sind.
Die folgenden Beispiele veranschaulichen die besondere
Eignung der erfindungsgemäss als synthetische Schmiermittel, als hydraulische Flüssigkeiten sowie als Gasturbinenöle verwendeten
N,N1 ,!!"-substituierten Melamine sowie deren Herstellung. Darin
sind die Masseinheiten des metrischen Systems verwendet und die
Temperaturen sind, in Celsiusgraden angegeben.

185 Teile Cyanurchlorid werden in 600 Teilen heissem Chlorbenzol
gelöst und die Lösung auf-10° abgekühlt. In die kalte Lösung
trägt man innerhalb 2 Stunden allmählich 187 Teile Dicyclohexylarain
und 4 0 Teile Wasser unter gutem Rühren ein und hierauf innerhalb 1 1/2 Stunden bei -5° bis 0° 200 Teile'20$ige natronlauge.
Nachdem die Reaktionsmischung neutral geworden ist, wird die

mit ausgeglühtem Natriumsulfat getrocknet. Man destilliert das Chlorbenzol im Vakuum grösstenteils ab und lässt kristallisieren.
Die weissen Kristalle werden abgesaugt und im Vakuum getrocknet.

165 Teile 2-Dicyclohexylamine-4 ,6-dichlor-s. triazin werden in
1000 Teilen Toluol gelöst. Bei 20° bis 25° werden 66,5 Teile Dibutylamin und 30 Teile Wasser unter Rühren innerhalb einer
Stunde zugesetzt. Dann werden unter Rühren innerhalb 1/2 Stunde bei ungefähr 20° 20 Teile Aetznatron gelöst in 60 Teilen Wasser
zugetropft. Hierauf wird bei 4 0° solange gut weitergerührt, bis der pH-Wert der Mischung 7,5 erreicht. Nun trennt man das Wasser
ab, wäscht die Toluollösung mehrmals mit Wasser zwecks Entfernung anorganischer Bestandteile, trennt sie ab und trocknet
sie mit geglühtem Natriumsulfat, Dann destilliert man das Lösungsmittel
ab und entfernt alle flüchtigen Bestandteile bei 14 0° unter Anlegen eines Vakuums, von schliesslich 0,01 mm, das man eine halbe
Stunde belässt. Hierauf lässt man erkalten. Man erhält 191 Teile einer sehr viskosen Masse. Die Ausbeute beträgt 90,7$ der Theorie.

140,5 Teile 2-Dicyclohexylamino-4-dibutylamino-6-ehlor-■s. triazin,
230 Teile "ARMEEN 2 HT" der Armour Company, Chicago, Illinois, U.d.A., welches zu mindestens T5% aus Dioctadecylamin und im
übrigen aus ähnlichen höheren Dialkylaminen besteht, und 15 Teile gepulvertes Natriumhydroxyd werden 3 Stunden bei 120° verführt.
Dann'werden 250 'Teile Xylol zugesetzt und es wird 14 Stunden bei
145° weitergerührt. Dann wird ungefähr das gleiche Volumen Wasser zugesetzt, gut verrührt, die Xylolschieht abgetrennt und die
Feuchtigkeit durch Abdestillieren des azeotropen'Wasser-Xylolgemisches

Diese hochviskose Masse ist dank der ausgezeichneten
Schmiereigenschaften, der hohen Thermostabllität und der sehr
geringen Flüchtigkeit ein wertvolles Schmiermittel. Beispiel 10
Man verrlihrt 45 Teile 2,4-Bis-(d.l-n.butylamino)-6-piperidino-l,3,5-triazin
(Tab. I, No. 47), das eine Viskosität von 15,17 Centistokes bei 98,8° zeigt, mit 55 Teilen eines hochgereinigten
Mineralöls (Regal Oil B). Die Mischung zeigt die guten Schmiereigenschaften
der Komponenten und die Viskosität der Mischung beträgt bei 98,8° nur 7,32 Centistokes.
Durch diese Herabsetzung der Viskosität wird der Anwendungsbereich
der verwendeten Melaminverbindung beträchtlich erweitert, indem das Gemisch ζ.Β. als Kraftübertragungsmittel in Maschinenteilen
verwendet werden kann, die vorübergehend tieferen Temperaturen als der üblichen Arbeitstemperatur ausgesetzt sind. Das
verwendete Melaminderivat für sich ist unter solchen Umständen weniger
brauchbar.
Man erhält auf gleiche Art und Weise mit Melaminderivaten von verhältnismässlg hoher Viskosität, wie beispielsweise den
Verbindungen Nos. 1, 9, 21, 37, 40, 43, 51, 53, 54, 55, 56, 58, 59, 60, 61, 63, 64, 65, 68, 71, 72, 73, 74, 76 und 80 aus der Tabelle I
durch Mischen mit Regal Oil B in beliebigen, zweckentsprechenden Mengenverhältnissen SchmierstoffZusammenstellung von erweitertem
Anwendungsbereich. '

Teile Amin Armeen 2C der unterstehenden Zusammensetzung werden in einem 5 Liter Rundkolben unter Stickstoffatmosphäre gerührt.
Anschliessend werden 150 Teile gepulvertes Natriumhydroxyd zu= gegeben. Infolge exothermer Reaktion steigt die ReaktIonstemperatur
auf 135°. Hierauf wird bei 130° Badtemperatur während 20 Stunden
gerührt und dann bei 90° mit Wasser bis zu einem pH von 7-8 und Ch^orionen frei gewaschen und kalt filtriert. Ausbeute 87$
der Theorie. Der Rückstand besteht vorwiegend aus tertiären Aminen. In diesem Beispiel enthalt das Filtrat 0,3$ sekundäre und primäre
Amine und 1,65$ tertiäre Amine. Je nach der Zusammensetzung der

und 7.,8% aus tertiären Aminen mit einem Durchschnittmolekulargewicht

werden» Dabei muss jeder Armeen 2C Ansatz analysiert werden, da die Zusammensetzung dieses Handelsproduktes stets leicht
variierte Durch fraktionierte Destillation des Amins Armeen 2C lässt sich dieses Amin-=Gemisch je nach speziellem Bedarf fraktionieren«

bei 40-45° gerührt«, Das FiItrat -wird mit 90 Teilen Tonsil AC
unter gleichen Bedingungen behandelt. Das Cyclohexan wird abdestilliert und der Rückstand 1 Stunde bei 230° und O5I mm Druck
erhitzt. Man erhält 217 Teile einer fast farblosen klaren Flüssigkeit,
deren Amingehalt unter der Erfassungsgrenze liegt0
Diese Reinigung kann auch bei 60-70°, sowie bei 20-25°
durchgeführt werden. Anstatt Cyclohexan können auch Alkane wie Hexan verwendet werden» In solchen Fällen, wo das freie Amin in
sehr niedriger Konzentrstion vorliegt8 kann auch Tonsil AC ohne
Lösungsmittel verwendet werdsn<>

USA) schnell verrührt, dann filtriert und wieder mit frischem Celite FC behandelt bis das Produkt frei von freien Aminen
ist. Eine andere Möglichkeit kleine Mengen von freien Aminen zu ellminieren besteht darin, dass man Jonenaustauscher wie Amberllte
IR 120 der Firma Rohm und Haas, Company, Philadelphia, USA, verwendet.
Als Verdünnungsmittel werden auch hler Hexan und Cyclohexan verwendet. Gegebenenfalls muss diese Behandlung mehrmals
wiederholt werden, bis das Endprodukt keine freien Amine mehr enthält.

X, Y und Z entsprechenden primären und sekundären organischen Aminen gemäss der im Beispiel 1 ausführlich beschriebenen Methode
hergestellt worden sind. Kolonne 5 der Tabelle I enthält die in der letzten Stufe erreichte Ausbeute in % der Theorie, Kolonne

Der "ASTM-slope" hat die folgende Bedeutung: Wird in einem ■
Koordinatensystem die Temperatur (in Grad Fahrenheit) als Abszisse und der natürliche Logarithmus*des natürlichen Logarithmus
der Viskosität (in Centistokes) als Ordinate aufgetragen, so entsteht eine Kurve, d.ie für alle praktischen Zwecke als Gerade
angesprochen werden kann. Aus zwei experimentell bestimmten Punkten (konventionellerweise werden die Viskositäten bei 100° F
und 210° F bestimmt) kann also die Viskosität für den ganzen Temperaturbereich interpoliert werden. Die Neigung dieser Geraden
ist ein Mass für die Temperaturabhängigkeit der .Viskosität.. Der "ASTM-slope" ist nun der Quotient aus -der in cm bestimmten
Ordinatendifferenz und der Abszissendifferenz der beiden Punkte,
die beim Eintragen der beiden bei verschiedenen Temperaturen bestimmten Viskositätswerte in die "ASTM-chart" erhalten werden-Die
"A.S.T.M. Standard .Viscosity-Temperature Charts for Liquid Petroleum
Products" (Methode D 341) sind-konventionell festgelegte
Koordinatennetze, die angenähert dem oben beschriebenen Koordinatensystem entsprechen.
Je niedriger der Zahlenwert dieses A,S.T. M.-Slopes einer
Flüssigkeit, desto besser eignet sie sich als Schmiermittel.. Ein Wert von über 1,0 besagt, dass die entsprechende, Flüssigkeit
sehr wenig geeignet ist.

In einem Glaskolben mit eingeschliffenem Stopfen wurden die Schlifflachen mit der Verbindung Noο 55 der Tabelle I geschmiert
und der Glaskolben während 130 Stunden mindestens 3,9 Millionen Mal bei Raumtemperatur um dem Stopfen herum rotiert, ohne dass
ein Festsitzen des rotierenden Glaskolbens erfolgte0 Wird an=·
stelle der Verbindung No0 55 der Tabelle I Silicone Hochvakuumfett "DC" (Dow Corning, Pittsburgh, Pa0 USA) verwendet, und die
Übrigen Bedingungen gleich gehalten, so erfolgt schon nach 2.4

Claims (19)
1. Verwendung von bei den Anwendungsbedingungen flüssigen
bis fettartigen Ν,Ν1,N"-substituierten Melaminen, die insgesamt
mindestens 4 Sticks toffsubs tituenten aufweisen, welche aus gegebenenfalls
inert weltersubstituierten Kohlenwasserstoffresten
und gegebenenfalls einzelnen heterocyclischen Res ten bestehen, wobei zwei am gleichen Stickstoff sitzende Subs tituenten, gegebenenfalls
unter Einschluss von weiteren Heteroatomen, auch ringförmig verbunden sein können, oder von Gemischen solcher
N,N1' ,N"-substituierter Melamine, als hydraulische Flüssigkeiten
bzw. als synthetische Schmiermittel.
2. Verwendung von N,N1 ,Ν''-substituierten Melaminen gemäss
Anspruch 1, von deren mindestens 4 Stickstoffsubstituenten höchstens
einer ein ein- oder mehrkerniger, gegebenenfalls inert weitersubstituierter aromatischer Rest oder ein heterocyclischer
Rest ist, während die übrigen Stickstoffsubstituenten aliphatischer,
^cycloaliphatischer oder araliphatischer Art sind, wobei zwei am
gleichen Stickstoff sitzende Subs tituenten, gegebenenfalls unter Einschluss von weiteren Heteroatomen, auch ringförmig verbunden
sein können.
3. Verwendung von N5N',N"-substituierten Melaminen gemäss
Ansprüchen 1 und 2, von deren mindestens 4 Stickstoffsubstituenten
höchstens einer ein einkerniger oder ein mehrkerniger, nicht- · kondensierter, gegebenenfalls inert weitersubstituierter aromatischer
Rest ist.
4. Verwendung von N,N!,N"-substituierten Melaninen gemäss

5. Verwendung von N,Ti' ,!{"-substituierten Melaninen gemäss
Ansprüchen 1 bis 3, in welchen mindestens eine substituierte Aminogruppe der Rest eines gesättigten heterocyclischen Amins ist.
6. Verwendung von N,N' ,!{"-substituierten Melaminen gemäss
Ansprüchen 1 bis 5 mit 5 bis 6 Stickstoffsubs tituenten.
7. Verwendung von N,N1 ,!{"-substituierten Melaminen gemäss
Ansprüchen 1 bis 6, die als Stickstoffsubs tituenten mindestens
zwei n.Butylgruppen enthalten.
8. Verwendung von N5N1 ,!{"-substituierten Melaminen gemäss
Ansprüchen 1 bis 7 mit unsymmetrischer Substitution.
9. N,N1 ,!{"-substituierte Melamine, die insgesamt mindestens
4 Sticks toffsubs tituenten aufweisen, welche aus gegebenenfalls
inert weitersubstituierten Kohlenwasserstoffresten und gegebenenfalls einzelnen heterocyclischen Resten bestehen, wobei zwei am
gleichen Stickstoff sitzende Subs tituenten, gegebenenfalls unter
Einschluss von weiteren Heteroatomen, auch ringförmig verbunden sein können, soweit sie neu sind.
10. Unsymmetrisch N,N1 ,!{"-substituierte Melamine, die insgesamt
mindestens 4 Stickstoffsubstituenten aufweisen, welche aus
gesättigten Kohlenwasserstoffres ten und gegebenenfalls einzelnen
araliphatischen Kohlenwasserstoffresten und höchstens einen ein- oder mehrkernigen, gegebenenfalls inert weitersubstituierten
aromatischen Rest bzw. höchstens einem heterocyclischen Rest bestehen, wobei die Stickstoffsubstituenten insgesamt mindestens
16 Kohlenstoffetome aufweisen und zwei am gleichen Stickstoff
sitzende Substituenten, gegebenenfalls unter Einschluss von
weiteren Heteroatomen, auch ringförmig verbunden sein können.

9, in welchen mindestens eine substituierte Aminogruppe der Rest eines gesättigten, heterocyclischen'Amins ist.

9, in welchen sämtliche Stickstoffsubs tituenten gesättigte
Kohlenwasserstoffreste sind.
14. Unsymmetrisch N5N1 ,!!"-substituierte Melamine nach Ansprüchen
9 bis 12., deren gesättigte organische Stickstoffsubstituenten
unverzweigte Alkylgruppen sind.
15. Unsymmetrisch N5N1,N"-substituierte Melamine nach Ansprüchen
9 bis 13, die mindestens eine Di-n-butylaminogruppe
aufweisen.
16. Unsymmetrisch N5N'5N"-substituierte Melamine nach Ansprüchen
9 bis 13, die mindestens 5 Stickstoffsubstituenten aufweis*en.
17. Unsymmetrisch N,N',N^-substituierte Melamine nach Ansprüchen
9 bis 13, die 6 Stickstoffsubstituenten aufweisen.
18. StoffZusammenstellung, die mindestens ein gemäss Ansprüchen
1 bis 8 verwendbares N5N1 5N"-substituiertes Melamin und
mindestens einen weiteren Stoff aus der Reihe der hochgereinigten Mineralöle, der synthetischen Schmieröle auf Esterbasis, der
Siliconöle, der Antioxydantien, der Verdickungsmittel, der stockpunkterniedrigenden
Mittel, der Hochdruckadditive und der Korrosionsschutzmittel enthalten.
