Description
Die Erfindung betrifft einen Streifen zur Durchführung des Verfahrens zur Befestigung einer Glasscheibe
an einer Fahrzeugkarosserie, der aus weichen, härtbaren Werkstoffen besteht und einen in Längsrichtung
verlaufenden elektrischen Leiter aufweist, wobei der Streifen parallel zum Rand der Scheibe
bzw. der Fensteröffnung in der Karosserie angeheftet wird, die Scheibe in die Öffnung so eingesetzt wird,
daß der Streifen den Schlitz zwischen beiden abdichtet, die Enden des Leiters an eine elektrische
Stromquelle angeschlossen werden und durch diese zur Erzeugung von Wärme Strom geleitet wird, durch
die der Streifen infolge Aushärtung in einen zähen, nachgiebigen Zustand übergeführt und die Scheibe
mit der Karosserie verbunden wird, nach Patentanmeldung B 76403 VIb /32 b (deutsche Auslegeschrift
1 253 083).
Bei diesem Verfahren kann unter bestimmten Bedingungen, z. B. wenn der Kunststoff zumindest vor
dem Gebrauch sehr weich ist und der Streifen einer rauhen Behandlung unterzogen wird, der elektrische
Leiter beim Befestigen der Scheibe freigelegt werden und dadurch mit der Karosserie einen Kurzschluß
bilden.
Diese Gefahr wird bei dem Streifen gemäß der Erfindung dadurch vermieden, daß der Leiter von
einer flexiblen Schutzhülle aus elektrisch isolierendem Material umgeben ist.
Um eine gute Wärmeleitung von dem elektrischen Leiter auf den weichen, härtbaren Werkstoff des
Streifens zu gewährleisten, wird die flexible Schutzhülle möglichst so dünn bemessen, wie es die mechanische
Festigkeit zuläßt.
Die Schutzhülle kann beispielsweise als Lacküberzug oder als Gewebemantel des Leiters ausgebildet
sein. Vorzugsweise ist die Schutzhülle ein kunstharzgebundener Glasfasermantel.
Zweckmäßigerweise ist der Streifen in der nötigen sich um eine vorgegebene Scheibe erstreckenden
Länge vorgefertigt, wobei der weiche, härtbare Werkstoff an den Enden des Streifens entfernt ist, um die
Leiterenden freizugeben.
Die Erfindung soll an Hand der Zeichnung in Verbindung mit der Befestigung einer Glasscheibe
in Form einer Windschutzscheibe an einer Fahrzeugkarosserie näher erläutert werden. Es zeigt
F i g. 1 die Frontansicht der Windschutzscheibe,
F i g. 2 einen Querschnitt der Windschutzscheibe in gegenüber F i g. 1 größerem Maßstab,
F i g. 3 einen Längsschnitt durch einen Teil des Streifens gemäß der Erfindung und
F i g. 4 einen Querschnitt durch den Streifen gemäß der Erfindung.
Ein wärmehärtbares Kunststoffmaterial, das z. B. die in Hauptpatentanmeldung beschriebene Zusammensetzung
haben kann, wird zunächst in einem gekühlten Hochleistungsmischer gemischt und dann auf
einen von einer Schutzhülle 11 α umgebenen Leiter in Form eines Drahts 11 zur Bildung eines Streifens
10 von etwa 8 mm Durchmesser umhüllend aufgespritzt, wobei die Schutzhüllella aus kunstharzgebundenem
Glasfasermaterial besteht und der von der Schutzhülle umgebene Draht 11 den Streifen
10 als Seele durchzieht. Der Draht kann beispielsweise aus einer Legierung von 90%Kupfer und 10 °/o
Nickel hergestellt sein sowie einen Durchmesser von 0,6 mm, ein spezifisches Gewicht von 8,95, einen
spezifischen Widerstand von 14,1 μΩ ■ cm, einen
Widerstand von 0,48 Ω/m und einen Schmelzpunkt von 1100° C aufweisen. Der Streifen 10 ist in der
nötigen Lage entsprechend dem Umfang der vorgegebenen Windschutzscheibe vorgefertigt, wobei der
Kunststoff und die Schutzhülle 11 α an den Enden des Streifens entfernt sind, so daß die Drahtenden
freiliegen.
Nachdem der Rand der Windschutzscheibe 12 und der für die Windschutzscheibe vorgesehenen Öffnung
13 in der Fahrzeugkarosserie 14 gesäubert worden sind, wird der Streifen 10 auf den Rand der Windschutzscheibe
12 aufgesetzt, an der er haften bleibt, weil er mit einer selbstklebenden Oberfläche versehen
ist. Der Streifen 10 wird so angeordnet, daß der Rand der Windschutzscheibe 12 vollständig umgeben
ist und die Streifenenden sich überkreuzen. Anschließend wird die Windschutzscheibe 12 in die
Öffnung 13 eingesetzt. In diesem Zustand wird die Windschutzscheibe 12 durch Anlegen an eine Umrandung
15 der Öffnung 13 oder gewünschtenfalls durch Abstandsstücke 17, beispielsweise aus Gummi,
gehalten, die die Windschutzscheibe 12 zentriert halten. Die beiden Enden des Drahts selbst werden dann
an eine elektrische Niederspannungsquelle bei einem Spannungsabfall von gewöhnlich 6,7 V/m Streifenlänge angeschlossen, so daß sich der Streifen 10
schnell erwärmt und damit erweicht. Nach dem Erweichen wird die Windschutzscheibe 12 einfach von
Hand gegen die Öffnung 13 gedrückt, so daß sich der Streifen 10 zwischen dem Rand der Winschutzscheibe
12 und der Umrandung 15 der Öffnung 13 abflacht, so daß sich eine anhaftende Verbindung
ergibt. Nach einer weiteren Erwärmung wird der Leiter 11 α von der Niederspannungsquelle getrennt,
da die Wärme den Kunststoff des Streifens 10 ausgehärtet hat und die Haftverbindung stark genug ist,
um die Fahrzeugstöße während des Verkehrs auszuhalten. Der Rand der Windschutzscheibe 12, der
den Streifen 10 trägt, wird dann mit einem äußeren Formteil 16 abgedeckt.
Gewünschtenf alls kann für den Streifen 10 an Stelle eines wärmehärtbaren Kunststoffs auch ein thermoplastisches
Material wie Butylgummi verwendet werden.
Claims (3)
1. Streifen zur Durchführung des Verfahrens zur Befestigung einer Glasscheibe an einer Fahrzeugkarosserie,
der aus weichen, härtbaren Werkstoffen besteht und einen in Längsrichtung verlaufenden
elektrischen Leiter aufweist, nach Patentanmeldung B 76403 VIb/32b (deutsche Auslegeschrift 1 253 083), dadurchgekennzeichnet,
daß der Leiter von einer flexiblen Schutzhülle aus elektrisch isolierendem Material
umgeben ist.
2. Streifen nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Streifen in der nötigen, sich
um den Rand der Glasscheibe erstreckenden Länge vorgefertigt ist und daß der weiche, härtbare
Werkstoff an den Enden des Streifens entfernt ist, um die Enden des Leiters freizulegen.
3. Streifen nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Schutzhülle aus Glasfasermaterial
besteht.
