Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum katalytischen Isomerisieren von Hexenen oder Hexengemischen
unter Wanderung der Doppelbindung und/oder einer Alkylgruppe bei erhöhter Temperatur
und erhöhtem Druck.
Gemäß der Erfindung wird als Katalysator zum katalytischen Isomerisieren ein aus Graphit und
Alkalimetall hergestellter lamellarer Komplex verwendet.
Vorzugsweise ist das Hexen ein Propylendimeres.
Unter dem Begriff lamellare Komplexe werden Komplexverbindungen zwischen Alkalimetallen und
Graphit in bestimmten stöchiometrischen Verhältnissen verstanden.
Vorzugsweise enthält der lamellare Komplex Kalium. Bevorzugte lamellare Komplexe haben die
Formeln KC8, KC16, KC24, KC36, KC48 und KC60
oder Gemische davon, aber gewünschtenfalls können homologe Verbindungen mit höherem Verhältnis
von Kohlenstoff zu Kalium verwendet werden. Andere lamellare Komplexe, die verwendet werden können,
enthalten Lithium, Natrium, Rubidium und Cäsium. Ein geeigneter Natriumkomplex hat die Formel
NaC64. Gewünschtenfalls kann ein Gemisch dieser
Komplexe verwendet werden. Die Herstellung dieser Komplexe ist von W. Rudοf f und E. Schulze
in Z. Anorg. u. allg. Chem. CoL, 277, auf S. 156 ff.
(1954), beschrieben.
Die Herstellung anderer lamellarer Komplexe ist von R. C. A s h e r und S. A. W i 1 s ο η in Nature
1958, Bd. 181, auf S. 409 ff., und von R. C. A s h e r in J. Inorg. Nucl. Chem., 1959, Bd. 10, auf S. 238 ff.,
beschrieben.
Gewöhnlich wird ein vorgebildeter Komplex des vorher beschriebenen Typs mit dem Kohlenwasserstoff
in Kontakt gebracht; dieses ist nicht wesentlich, wenn die Isomeiisationsbedingungen derart sind, daß
der Komplex in situ gebildet wird, und in diesem Falle kann ein Gemisch von Alkalimetall und Kohlenstoff
mit dem Kohlenwasserstoff in Kontakt gebracht werden.
Der Katalysator kann ganz aus dem lamellaren Komplex bestehen oder kann aus einem Gemisch
des lamellaren Komplexes mit einem Alkalimetall auf Kohlenstoff als Träger bestehen oder ein solches
enthalten, wobei das Gemisch den lamellaren Komplex in jedem Verhältnis enthalten kann. Der Anteil
des Katalysators, der als lamellarer Komplex vorliegt, wird wenigstens teilweise durch die Natur des
verwendeten Kohlenstoffs und die relativen Anteile von Alkalimetall und Kohlenstoff bestimmt. Weiter

Der bei der Herstellung des lamellaren Komplexes verwendete Kohlenstoff liegt vorzugsweise ganz oder
teilweise in der Form von natürlichem oder synthetischem Graphit vor. Jedoch können andere Formen von
Kohlenstoff verwendet werden, vorausgesetzt, daß sie mit einem Alkalimetall unter Bildung eines lamellaren
Komplexes reagieren können. So können Formen von Kohlenstoff verwendet werden, die Graphit in mikrokristalliner
Form zusammen mit Kohlenstoff solcher Art enthält, die mit Alkalimetallen keine lamellaren
Komplexe bildet.
Der verwendete Kohlenstoff kann Spurenverunreinigungen in der Form von Metallverbindungen enthalten.

Metalle, die aus Spurenverunreinigungen stammen, z. B. Eisen, Silicium und Aluminium, können sich mit
diesen lamellaren Strukturen vereinigen und können eine modifizierende Wirkung auf die erfindungsgemäßen
Reaktionen ausüben.
Die Isomerisation wird bei Temperaturen in dem Bereich von 50 bis 4000C durchgeführt.
Die bevorzugte Reaktionstemperatur liegt in dem Bereich 50 bis 2000C. Oberhalb 2000C können Polymere gebildet werden.

Gewöhnlich liegt der Reaktionsdruck über Atmosphärendruck, vorzugsweise in dem Bereich 3,5 bis
280 kg/cm2 Überdruck. Die angewandten Reaktionsbedingungen richten sich nach der Reaktionsfähigkeit

Das Verfahren nach der vorliegenden Erfindung ist besonders wertvoll für die Herstellung von 2-Methylpenten-2.
Eine bevorzugte Ausführungsform des Verfahrens nach der Erfindung besteht darin, daß man 4-Mepiylpenten-1
und/oder 2-Methylpenten-l enthaltende Gemische in Kontakt mit einem Komplex der F ormel KC3;,
wo χ 24, 36, 48 oder 60 ist, oder Gemischen davon isomerisiert und aus dem Produkt eine C6-Fraktion,
die aus 2-Methylpenten-2 besteht oder überwiegend dieses enthält, gewinnt.
Im allgemeinen werden hohe Ausbeuten an 2-Methylpenten-2
erhalten, wenn der Wert von χ hoch ist. Änderungen in der Ausbeute bei einem gegebenen
Wert von χ sind zu erwarten, wenn KCa-Verbindun'gen,
die von verschiedenen Graphiten, bzw. graphithaltigen Kohlenstoffquellen stammen, verwendet
werden. Diese Änderungen sind wahrscheinlich auf Änderungen der Mengen an Spurenverunreinigungen
zurückzuführen, die, wie angenommen wird, eine modifizierende Wirkung auf den Verlauf der Reaktionen
ausüben. Im allgemeinen begünstigen KCa-Verbindungen,
die sich von Kohlenstoff mit hohem Aschegehalt herleiten, hoheAusbeutenan2-Methylpenten-2.
Vorzugsweise enthalten die KC^-Verbindungen eine kleine Menge Eisen und/oder Aluminium gewöhnlich
in der Form von Oxyd. Diese Elemente sind gewöhnlich in im Handel erhältlichem Graphit bzw. graphithaltigem
Kohlenstoff vorhanden und sind daher gewöhnlich in den davon stammenden KCa-Verbindungen
enthalten. Gewünschtenfalls können jedoch kleine Mengen von reaktionsmodifizierenden Elementen,
beispielsweise Eisen und/oder Aluminium und/oder Natrium in elementarer oder gebundener Form zu der
KCarVerbindung oder dem für ihre Herstellung verwendeten
Kohlenstoff zugesetzt werden.
Wenn KC24 verwendet wird, ist es notwendig, KC24,
das von Kohlenstoff mit hohem Gehalt an Spurenelementen stammt, zu verwenden, da in ihrer Abwesenheit
die Reaktion zu 2-Methylpenten-2 langsam ist.
Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren wird durch die folgenden Ausführungsbeispiele erläutert.
Es wurde ein lamellarer Komplex aus Kalium und Graphit hergestellt, wobei der Graphit einen Aschegehalt
von 8,2 Gewichtsprozent hatte. Durch Analyse der Asche wurde gefunden, daß sie die folgenden
Metalle (Gewichtsprozent) als Oxyde enthielt:

Das Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wurde mit den folgenden Abänderungen wiederholt:
a) Der Katalysator wurde gebildet, indem 6,5 g KaHum mit 120 g desselben Graphits gemischt wurden,
wodurch ein Katalysator der Formel KC60 gebildet
wurde.
b) Reaktionstemperatur in dem Autoklav war 15O0C.
c) Das Aufgabegut hatte die in Tabelle 2 angegebene Zusammensetzung.
Die Analyse des Aufgabegutes und Produktes zeigte die folgende Isomerenverteilung:

Das Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wurde mit den folgenden
Abänderungen wiederholt:
a) Der Katalysator wurde gebildet, indem 6,5 g Kalium mit 120 g eines andersartigen Graphits gemischt-wurden,
der einen Aschegehalt von 4,40 Gewichtsprozent hatte, bei dem Siliciumdioxyd und
Aluminiumoxyd vorherrschten. Der Katalysator hatte die Formel KC60.
b) Die Reaktionstemperatur in dem Autoklav war 1500C.
c) Das Aufgabegut hatte die Zusammensetzung A, die in Tabelle 3 angegeben ist. Der Versuch wurde
wiederholt mit Aufgabegut der Zusammensetzung B. Die Analyse der Aufgabegüter und Produkte zeigte
die folgende Isomerenverteilung.
Es wurden 6,5 g Kalium mit 72 g des Graphits gemischt und 1 Stunde in einer Stickstoffatmosphäre auf
275°C erhitzt. Der so erhaltene Katalysator hatte die Formel KC36. Nach Abkühlen unter Stickstoff wurden
75 g (0,16 Mol) des Feststoffes unter einer Stickstoffdecke in einen 1-1-Autoklav aus nichtrostendem Stahl
gebracht.
50 g eines Gemisches von Hexenen mit der in Tabelle 1 dargestellten Isomerenverteilung wurden in
den Autoklav gebracht und mit dem Katalysator bei 160° C 20 Stunden geschüttelt.
Die Hexene wurden dann aus dem Gefäß destilliert und gaschromatographisch analysiert. Die analytischen
Resultate sind unten in Tabelle 1 angegeben.

wurden, der einen Aschegehalt von 0,15 Gewichtsprozent hatte. Der Katalysator hatte die Formel
KCC0.
b) Die Reaktionstemperatur in dem Autoklav war 1500C.
c) Das Aufgabegut hatte die Zusammensetzung A, die in Tabelle 4 angegeben ist. Der Versuch wurde mit
Aufgabegut der Zusammensetzung B wiederholt.
Die Analyse der Aufgabegüter und Produkte zeigte die folgende Isomerenverteilung:

Es ist offensichtlich, daß unter den angewandten Reaktionsbedingungen die Umwandlung von 4-Methylpenten-l
in der Anwesenheit des lamellaren Kornplexes, der von Graphit mit niedrigem Aschegehalt
stammt, geringer war als es der Fall war, wenn ein Graphit mit hohem Aschegehalt verwendet wurde.
Die Umwandlung von 2-Methylpenten-l war hoch, selbst wenn Graphit mit niedrigem Aschegehalt verwendet
wurde.
Claims (5)
1. Verfahren zum katalytischen Isomerisieren von Hexenen oder Hexengemischen unter Wanderung
der Doppelbindung und/oder einer Alkylgruppe bei erhöhter Temperatur und erhöhtem
Druck, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man als Katalysator einen aus Graphit und Alkalimetall
hergestellten lamellaren Komplex verwendet.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Isomerisation bei 50 bis 4000C,
vorzugsweise bei 50 bis 2000C, durchgeführt wird.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Isomerisation bei einem
Überdruck von 3,5 bis 280 kg/cm2 durchgeführt wird.
4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß vorwiegend 4-Methylpenten-l
und/oder 2-Methylpenten-l enthaltende Gemische mittels eines Katalysators der Formel KCa;, in der
χ 24, 36, 48 oder 60 ist, zu vorwiegend Methylpenten-2 enthaltenden Gemischen isomerisiert
werden.
5. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der lamellare Komplex in
Form eines Gemisches mit einem Alkalimetall oder mit freiem Kohlenstoff oder mit einem Alkalimetall
auf Kohlenstoff als Träger verwendet wird.
