Abstract
Βιοσυμβατά πολυυδροξυαλκανοϊκά σκευάσματα, που βασίζονται ιδιαίτερα σε βιοτεχνολογικώς παραγόμενα ομο- και συμπολυμερή 4-υδροξυβουτυρικού οξέος, με ελεγχόμενες ταχύτητες αποικοδόμησης αναπτύχθηκαν. Σε μια εφαρμογή, τα πολυυδροξυαλκανοϊκά πολυμερή περιέχουν πρόσθετες ουσίες όπως για παράδειγμα μέσα σχηματισμού πόρων που μεταβάλλουν τις ταχύτητες αποικοδόμησης. Σε μια άλλη εφαρμογή, τα πολυυδροξυαλκανοϊκά πολυμερή σχηματίζονται από μίγματα μονομερών ή περιέχουν ελεύθερες ομάδες στο σκελετό τους που μεταβάλλουν τις ταχύτητες αποικοδόμησης.
