Abstract

En parte, la invención se relaciona con tapas ópticas que tienen, como mínimo, una superficie con lente configurada para reorientar y enfocar la luz hacia fuera de la tapa. La tapa está colocada sobre una fibra óptica. La radiación óptica viaja a través de la fibra e interactúa con la superficie óptica o las superficies ópticas de la tapa, para dar como resultado un haz que se enfoca a una distancia fuera de la tapa o bien es sustancialmente colimado. Los elementos ópticos como las tapas alargadas descritas en el presente documento pueden utilizarse con diversas modalidades de recopilación de datos, como la tomografía de coherencia óptica.
