Abstract

Description
技术领域
本发明一般涉及数据通信领域。本发明具体涉及通过无线网,例如,因特网,接收电子数据和经由内置光投影器显示该数据的蜂窝电话,光投影器投影接收的数据到外部表面。
背景技术
蜂窝电话在工作状态时可以在任何地方进行移动话音通信。随着蜂窝电话变得越来越小和越来越轻,它们非常方便于个人携带,与此同时,随着因特网的不断普及,蜂窝电话不仅用作话音数据的接收器,而且还用于接收各种形式的可视数据,例如,电子邮件,各种形式的处理文件,图形,图片和影像。对于普通的话音通信,虽然蜂窝电话的紧致性有利于方便携带,但是这种缩小的尺寸从本质上给可视数据的显示带来固有的缺点,即,显示器的尺寸太小,实际上不适合于给出便于用户观察和阅读的原始整页格式的大多数文件和可视数据。这个问题的解决方案之一是,把每页任意地重新格式化成几个较小的页面,使它包含在蜂窝电话的内置小屏的观察帧中。然后,迫使用户滚动和处理许多小的页面,以便读出原始发送的整个一页。此外,由于固有的小尺寸屏,很难读出显示文件的各个字符,这是因为它们本身的尺寸必须做得很小。而且,在显示器的有限观察面的条件下,往往不可能准确地显示各种图形图像。
上述问题的一个解决方案是在美国专利No.5,970,418中公开的,其内容合并在此供参考,该专利公开一种具有集成虚像显示的个人通信装置。具体地说,公开一种无线手持电话,它利用光学组件形成虚像,而虚像显示在例如,借助于绕枢轴转动的托架,与电话相连接的观察面上。
这些缺点和不方便妨碍了许多个人充分利用因特网现成的蜂窝电话。
通过扩大某些型号蜂窝电话上的显示器,试图部分解决这样一些问题。然而,由于手持无线装置中内置显示器的尺寸与这种装置的重量之间存在直接的反比关系,这个方法是不太令人满意的。增大内置显示器的尺寸将使便携式通信装置的轻便性和紧致性失去意义。
发明内容
本发明解决现有技术中的上述缺陷。本发明提供一种体积小和重量轻的蜂窝电话,还包括一个显示机构,用于显示从原始信源发送的原始页面格式的接收无线数据,从而可以观察到每个原始页面为一个整页,而不是一系列部分的页面。本发明还提供接收的无线可视数据的显示,其字符是真正的原始尺寸,从而便于阅读和使用。显示数据的机构还可用于显示经蜂窝电话发射的数据。此外,本发明可以使显示的尺寸是可调节和可变的,包括放大接收的原始数据,取决于具体的环境和应用。这能够以舒适的方式观察影像或图片信息。
按照本发明,该蜂窝电话中还配置内部光投影器,因此,可视数据的原始页面可以投影到蜂窝电话之外的较大表面上。这个外部表面大于蜂窝电话中电子显示器的表面区,足以保持原始页面格式和字符尺寸。这是通过在蜂窝电话内部配置一种电路完成的,利用普通的显示装置驱动器,它能够显示代表可视图像的接收无线数据到蜂窝电话的内置显示器上,以及利用内部光投影器,显示这些数据到外部表面上,内部光投影器投影原始图像到外部的目标表面。配置自动聚焦能力或手动聚焦度盘,可以在外部表面上形成清晰的图像。
此外,在蜂窝电话的表面上可以配置计算机鼠标或其他操作装置或用户输入装置,因此,在观察投影的图像时,可以通过正常电子屏上的可视图标进行控制或编辑。
本发明的优点之一是,在从蜂窝电话发送电子邮件,任何文件或数据文本之前,用户可以观察到完整页面格式和便于阅读尺寸的图像。
虽然本发明的描述是借助于一个蜂窝电话的例子,但是应当明白,本发明的原理同样适用于其他小型的移动通信装置,例如,报警器,寻呼机,个人数字辅助装置,等等。

具体实施方式
现在参照图1,图1表示按照本发明的蜂窝电话20。蜂窝电话20包括:显示器14,这是现有技术中众所周知的。蜂窝电话20还包括:光投影器16,用于投影图像到外部显示表面17,例如,桌子,墙壁,纸片,等等。蜂窝电话20还包括:光投影器ON/OFF开关12,用于切换内置显示器14与光投影器16之间电话提供的可视显示。ON/OFF开关不是实施本发明所必需的。在这种情况下,蜂窝电话提供相同的显示信息给内置显示器14和光投影器16,而由用户确定观察哪个显示器输出。
蜂窝电话20还可以任选地包括:鼠标垫13,用于接收用户的输入。用户输入可以浏览文件,选取部分的文件,或操作一个文件或外部显示表面17上显示的其他图像。
蜂窝电话20还可以配置聚焦度盘15,用于调节外部显示表面17上显示的图像。
参照图2,现在描述蜂窝电话20的内部组件,图2是蜂窝电话20内部组件的方框图。现在参照图2,蜂窝电话20包括:天线1,射频接收器2和微控制器3,这是现有技术中很普通的和众所周知的。蜂窝电话20还包括:发射部分(未画出),用于处理和发射信息,这是现有技术中众所周知的。在接收方向,射频信号经天线1被接收,被接收器2解调,然后,作为接收数据输入到微控制器3,用于随后的处理和操作。接收数据可以包括按照常规方式处理和操作的音频信息,这是现有技术中众所周知的,因此,此处不再作进一步的讨论。
接收数据还可以包括文本,图形,或视频信号,可以存储在缓冲存储器4中,然后,提供给显示控制器5。显示控制器5是受微控制器3的控制,其作用是格式化缓冲存储器4中存储的接收数据,并提供正确格式化的数据给随后显示的显示驱动器6。当蜂窝电话20工作在常规显示模式时,即,ON/OFF开关设置成OFF,LCD屏7被激活,而显示驱动器6的作用是显示接收的数据到LCD屏7上。LCD屏7可以是蜂窝电话或其他的移动装置中任何若干个常用的内置显示器。虽然图中画出的缓冲存储器4和显示控制器5是分开的组件,但是应当明白,这些组件中的一个或多个组件可以与微处理器3集成,取决于图2中所示电路的具体实施方案。
显示控制器5控制显示驱动器6,例如,可以是从SeikoInstruments公司购买的控制器#1766或#1767,分别用于行和列的显示。显示控制器5考虑蜂窝电话上具体电子显示器所要求的显示格式。显示控制器5已接入到保持显示信息的缓冲存储器4,并从缓冲存储器4中逐行取出这个数据,以及一次发送一行数据到显示驱动器6。这些数据行是一次被更新一线,给整个显示帧提供70Hz的更新速率。当然,按照本发明,可以使用显示信息的任何类似方式。
当蜂窝电话20工作在投影器显示模式时,LCD屏7任选地被禁止,而光投影器显示系统8被启动。在这个模式下,显示驱动器6的作用是经光投影器显示系统8显示接收的数据,以及任选地经LCD屏7显示接收的数据。图3中更详细地说明光投影器显示系统,它包括:高强度灯泡10,例如,可以从Welch Allyn公司(Skaneateles Fall,New York)购买的HID(高强度放电)氙灯泡。从灯泡10输出的光传输通过使光均匀分布的准直透镜18。按照本发明的一个实施例,准直的光传输通过透射式LCD显示器11,LCD显示器11被显示驱动器6驱动,使特定的图像显示到外部表面上。其次,在显示器11之后,放置一个聚焦透镜19,聚焦透镜19可以是自动运行(自动聚焦)或由用户通过聚焦度盘进行调节。透射式LCD显示器11可以有一个激活的观察区,其边长小至不到1英寸,大至1英寸或1英寸以上。在本发明的一个实施例中,显示器11可以是多晶硅有源矩阵透射式显示类型,例如,可以是1.3″LCD显示器,零件编号为LCX031ALT,可以从Sony Corporation购买。
在按照本发明的另一个实施例中,氙光源10和准直透镜18可以安排成从LCD显示器11反射光,使投影图像显示在外部表面上。按照这个实施例,LCD显示器11不是透射式显示器,而是反射式显示器,其中显示器11的一个面涂敷镜面抛光或其他的反射面。
显示器11可以是单色或彩色的。在彩色显示器的情况下,可以利用具有三个内置滤光片的单个显示器。或者,可以利用三个分开的显示器,每个显示器有单色滤光片,然后利用合适的光学组件,使三个显示器的输出组合成一个复合的彩色图片。
按照本发明,借助于蜂窝电话或其他的移动装置,通过把信息显示投影到外部表面上,用户就能够观察到接收的信息。按照这种方法,可以使投影的图像远远大于蜂窝电话中普通内置显示器的图像区。类似地,信息的投影可以与信息的透射结合使用,例如,当用户利用移动装置构成或发射一个文件或一些其他信息时,就是这样一种情况。在观察外部观察面上显示信息时,用户还能够利用鼠标垫13浏览显示的文件或信息,以及选取或操作部分或整个显示的文件。
虽然本发明的实际展示和描述是参照几个优选的实施例,但是应当明白,在不偏离本发明的精神和范围的条件下,本领域专业人员可以在形式和细节上作出各种变化。
Claims (2)
1.一种用于显示接收的信息的移动装置,包括:
显示控制器,用于格式化被显示的信息;
光投影器显示系统,用于显示信息到移动装置之外的表面上,光投影器显示系统是受显示控制器的控制,光投影器显示系统还包括:
用于发射光的光源;
光透射式显示屏,它的作用是显示被显示的信息并且被放置在光源的附近,使光源投射的光通过光透射式显示屏,从而把光透射式显示屏上显示的信息图像投射到便于观察的外部表面上。
2.一种用于显示接收的信息的蜂窝电话,包括:
天线,用于接收通过无线网的射频信号;
射频处理电路,用于把接收的射频信号转换成数字信号;
显示控制器,它接收数字信号并输出对应于数字信号的显示信息;
光投影器显示系统,用于接收和显示移动装置之外表面上的显示信息,光投影器显示系统是受显示控制器的控制,光投影器显示系统还包括:
用于投射光的光源;
光透射式显示屏,它的作用是显示被显示的信息并且被放置在光源的附近,使光源发射的光通过光透射式显示屏,从而把光透射式显示屏上显示的信息图像投射到便于观察的外部表面上。
