本发明的目的根据权利要求1的特征所述的游戏设备系统来实现。
通过在经数据通信线与多个相关的游戏设备联接的中央计算机内设置一个(单一)的随机发生器，可明显降低游戏设备的成本。例如，该随机发生器可以同时以并行或同步方式控制成百上千个相联结的游戏设备。重要的是，各游戏设备本身只需配备极少的装置，即一屏幕显示，用于显示由随机发生器确定的中奖符号组合；一输入装置，用于提供与中央计算机的联接，使各游戏设备能够参与对获胜者的确定。这些联接或输入装置(例如一磁卡读入器)也优选用于识别游戏参与者。
这种有利的识别是通过设置在各游戏设备内部或其附近的输入装置实现的，游戏参与者借助该装置参与连续进行的游戏及对获胜者的确定。同时可以用有益的方式在线进行该游戏预定参与费用的自动的，非现金方式的记帐，并且在游戏参与者获胜时，在线写入一中奖额。也可在一有价卡(芯片卡)上延迟进行中奖额与费用额的登记而取代上述优选的在线记帐方式。
上述具有多个设置在不同地点或位于不同地点的游戏设备的游戏设备系统特别适合于数字彩票，与目前的仅每星期或每半星期才确定中奖符号组合的普通彩票系统相比，该系统可明显提高抽奖频率。例如，可以每分钟确定并显示中彩数字，以同时满足多个游戏参与者的需求。此外，还能使各个国家以至全球范围的多个潜在游戏参与者同时参与游戏。

为参与由随机发生器7连续进行的(例如每分钟)中奖确定，每个游戏设备2都配备了一个连接或输入装置9。输入装置9最好由一卡续入器组成，图中由卡读入器的插口9a表示。可插入一个有价卡，尤其是一个价值例如为100,00马克的芯片卡，由此实现输入及参与游戏。接收到的中奖额可直接记帐，游戏参与者可以在游戏卡销售点再将中奖额兑换成现金。
