本发明涉及一种二次电池用粘合剂组合物以及包含所述粘合剂组合物的锂二次电池负极和锂二次电池,其中所述粘合剂组合物包含共聚物粘合剂,所述共聚物粘合剂包含:(A)源自乙烯基类单体的单元、(B)源自共轭二烯类单体或共轭二烯类聚合物的单元、(C)选自源自(甲基)丙烯酸酯类单体的单元中的至少一种单元、和(D)源自水溶性聚合物的单元,其中所述共聚物粘合剂具有0.02MPa以上的湿模量。

[技术领域]
本发明涉及一种二次电池用粘合剂组合物以及包含其的二次电池用电极和锂二次电池,更特别地,涉及一种具有适当湿模量的粘合剂组合物以及包含其的二次电池用电极和锂二次电池。
背景技术
随着移动装置的技术发展和需求的增加,对作为能源的二次电池的需求急剧增加,并且在这些二次电池中,具有高能量密度、高工作电位、长循环寿命和低自放电率的锂二次电池已经商业化并被广泛使用。
通过混合正极活性材料或负极活性材料和粘合剂树脂组分并将该混合物分散在溶剂中来制备浆料,并通过用该浆料涂布电极集电器的表面、对涂布的表面进行干燥、然后形成材料混合物层,来制备锂二次电池的电极。
粘合剂用于确保活性材料之间以及活性材料与电极集电器之间的粘附力或结合力,但是需要过量的粘合剂来改善活性材料与电极集电器之间的粘附力。然而,过量的粘合剂可能降低电极的容量和导电性。相反,粘附力不足导致在诸如电极干燥和压制的工序中发生电极剥落现象,从而成为电极故障率增加的原因。此外,具有低粘附力的电极可能因外部冲击而剥落,并且电极剥落可能增加电极材料与集电器之间的接触电阻从而成为电极输出性能下降的原因。
特别地,存在如下局限:因为在锂二次电池的充电和放电期间由于与锂反应而出现负极活性材料的体积变化,并且在连续充电和放电期间负极活性材料从集电器剥落、或者随活性材料之间接触界面的变化而导致电阻增加,从而随着充电和放电循环进行容量急剧下降,所以循环寿命缩短。此外,在其中将诸如硅、锡和硅-锡合金的材料进行复合并用于增加放电容量的情况下,因为由于硅或锡与锂反应而发生更大的体积变化,所以所述局限变得更加明显。
因此,一直需要开发一种粘合剂和通过使用所述粘合剂制备的二次电池用电极,所述粘合剂可通过提供更好的粘附力以解决由于电极剥落、活性材料从集电器剥落、或活性材料之间接触界面的变化导致的电化学性能降低而提供具有改进的性能的二次电池。
发明内容
技术问题
本发明的一个方面提供一种二次电池用粘合剂组合物,所述粘合剂组合物通过在提供更好的粘附力的同时,即使在电解液浸渍之后仍保持高机械性能,从而可以改善电池的寿命性能。
本发明的另一方面提供一种二次电池用电极,所述电极包含所述二次电池用粘合剂组合物。
本发明的另一方面提供一种锂二次电池,所述锂二次电池包含所述二次电池用电极。
技术方案
根据本发明的一个方面,提供一种二次电池用粘合剂组合物,所述粘合剂组合物包含共聚物粘合剂,所述共聚物粘合剂包含选自由如下组成的组中的至少一种单元:(A)源自乙烯基类单体的单元、(B)源自共轭二烯类单体或共轭二烯类聚合物的单元、(C)源自(甲基)丙烯酸酯类单体的单元、和(D)源自水溶性聚合物的单元,其中所述共聚物粘合剂具有0.02MPa以上的湿模量。
根据本发明的另一方面,提供一种锂二次电池用电极,所述电极包含硅类负极活性材料和二次电池用粘合剂组合物。
根据本发明的另一方面,提供一种锂二次电池,所述锂二次电池包含所述锂二次电池用电极。
有益效果
因为根据本发明的二次电池用粘合剂组合物包含含有亲水性官能团的共聚物粘合剂并且所述共聚物粘合剂具有预定值以上的湿模量,所以所述共聚物粘合剂不仅表现出改善的粘附力,而且即使在电解液浸渍之后也保持高机械性能,因此,可以改善电池的寿命性能。

根据本发明的锂二次电池用粘合剂组合物包含共聚物粘合剂,所述共聚物粘合剂包含选自由如下组成的组中的至少一种单元:(A)源自乙烯基类单体的单元、(B)源自共轭二烯类单体或共轭二烯类聚合物的单元、(C)源自(甲基)丙烯酸酯类单体的单元、和(D)源自水溶性聚合物的单元,其中所述共聚物粘合剂具有0.02MPa以上的湿模量。
共聚物粘合剂可以具有0.02MPa以上、特别是0.1MPa以上且更特别是0.3MPa~0.5MPa的湿模量,并且在其中共聚物粘合剂具有在上述范围内的湿模量的情况下,因为可以适当地抑制由于电解液引起的溶胀并且可以保持足够的机械性能,所以可以改善包含所述共聚物粘合剂的电极和二次电池的寿命特性。
在共聚物粘合剂被浸渍在锂二次电池中使用的常规电解液中之后,通过利用向共聚物粘合剂施加负荷而获得的应力-应变曲线来确定在共聚物粘合剂中产生的拉伸应力与拉伸应变之间的关系,从而可以测量湿模量。
因为湿模量是指在如同锂二次电池实际驱动环境的其中共聚物粘合剂浸渍在电解液中的状态下共聚物粘合剂的模量,所以鉴于湿模量比干模量更直接地反映了在锂二次电池的实际驱动环境中共聚物粘合剂的模量的事实,湿模量与高干模量具有不同的含义。
共聚物粘合剂的湿模量值可以通过调节共聚物粘合剂的亲水性官能团的量来获得,具体地,通过适当调节包含在共聚物粘合剂中的(D)源自水溶性聚合物的单元的量,可以使共聚物粘合剂具有合适的湿模量值。
基于100重量份的总重量,所述共聚物可以包含1重量份~70重量份的(A)源自乙烯基类单体的单元、10重量份~97重量份的(B)源自共轭二烯类单体或共轭二烯类聚合物的单元、1重量份~30重量份的(C)源自(甲基)丙烯酸酯类单体的单元和1重量份~70重量份的(D)源自水溶性聚合物的单元。
此外,特别地,基于100重量份的总重量,所述共聚物可以包含20重量份~70重量份的(A)源自乙烯基类单体的单元、10重量份~60重量份的(B)源自共轭二烯类单体或共轭二烯类聚合物的单元、1重量份~20重量份的(C)源自(甲基)丙烯酸酯类单体的单元和1重量份~60重量份的(D)源自水溶性聚合物的单元。
此外,更特别地,基于100重量份的总重量,所述共聚物可以包含30重量份~60重量份的(A)源自乙烯基类单体的单元、15重量份~30重量份的(B)源自共轭二烯类单体或共轭二烯类聚合物的单元、4重量份~8重量份的(C)源自(甲基)丙烯酸酯类单体的单元和2重量份~50重量份的(D)源自水溶性聚合物的单元。
在其中所述共聚物在上述范围内包含(A)源自乙烯基类单体的单元、(B)源自共轭二烯类单体或共轭二烯类聚合物的单元和(C)源自(甲基)丙烯酸酯类单体的单元中的每一者的情况下,共聚物粘合剂可以表现出优异的粘附力和模量。
此外,在其中所述共聚物在上述范围内包含(D)源自水溶性聚合物的单元的情况下,所述共聚物粘合剂可以具有优异的湿模量值。
所述共聚物粘合剂为粒子形式,并且可以具有100nm~1μm、例如300nm~500nm的平均粒径(D50)。
在其中共聚物粘合剂具有上述平均粒径(D50)的情况下,可以获得适当的粘附力,电解液溶胀现象可能是微不足道的,并且可以获得适当的弹性,使得共聚物粘合剂可以容纳电极的厚度的变化并可以减少气体产生的现象。
在本发明中,平均粒径(D50)可以定义为在累积粒径分布中50%处的粒径。平均粒径没有特别限制,但是例如平均粒径可以通过使用激光衍射法或扫描电子显微镜(SEM)图像来测量。激光衍射法通常可以测量从亚微米级到几毫米的粒径,并且可以获得高度可重复和高分辨率的结果。
包含在所述共聚物粘合剂中的单元如下。
在(A)源自乙烯基类单体的单元中,所述乙烯基类单体可以包含选自由如下组成的组中的至少一种:苯乙烯、α-甲基苯乙烯、β-甲基苯乙烯、对叔丁基苯乙烯和二乙烯基苯。
在(B)源自共轭二烯类单体或共轭二烯类聚合物的单元中,共轭二烯类单体可以包含1,3-丁二烯、异戊二烯、氯丁二烯或戊间二烯,并且共轭二烯类聚合物可以包含选自由如下组成的组中的至少一种:选自由1,3-丁二烯、异戊二烯、氯丁二烯和戊间二烯组成的组中的两种以上单体的聚合物;苯乙烯-丁二烯共聚物;丙烯腈-丁二烯共聚物;苯乙烯-异戊二烯共聚物;丙烯酸酯-丁二烯橡胶;丙烯腈-丁二烯-苯乙烯橡胶;乙烯-丙烯-二烯类聚合物;以及它们的部分氢化、环氧化或溴化的形式。

在(D)源自水溶性聚合物的单元中,所述水溶性聚合物可以是包含选自由如下组成的组中的至少一种单元的共聚物:源自(甲基)丙烯酸酯类单体的单元、源自(甲基)丙烯酰胺类单体的单元以及源自不饱和羧酸类单体和乙酸乙烯酯单体的单元,并且其制备方法没有特别限制,但是所述水溶性聚合物例如可以根据悬浮聚合法、乳液聚合法或种子聚合法来制备。

所述不饱和羧酸类单体可以包含选自由如下组成的组中的至少一种:马来酸、富马酸、甲基丙烯酸、丙烯酸、戊二酸、衣康酸、四氢邻苯二甲酸、巴豆酸、异巴豆酸和纳迪克(nadic acid)酸。
所述水溶性聚合物可以特别地包含选自由如下组成的组中的至少一种:聚乙烯醇(PVA)、聚丙烯酸(PAA)和聚丙烯酰胺(PAM),并且可以更特别地是聚丙烯酸(PAA)。
所述共聚物粘合剂的制备方法没有特别限制,但所述共聚物粘合剂例如可以根据悬浮聚合法、乳液聚合法或种子聚合法来制备,并且具体地可以通过乳液聚合法来制备。
如果需要,所述共聚物粘合剂可以包含一种或多种其他组分,例如聚合引发剂、交联剂、缓冲剂、链转移剂和乳化剂。
在根据本发明实施方式的制备二次电池用粘合剂组合物的方法中,如果作为实例对其中通过乳液聚合法制备共聚物粘合剂的情况进行描述,则在使用乙烯基类单体、共轭二烯类单体或共轭二烯类聚合物、水溶性聚合物和交联剂通过乳液聚合法制备共聚物粘合剂的同时,可以在聚合期间添加诸如聚合引发剂、缓冲剂、链转移剂和乳化剂的其他组分。共聚物粘合剂的粒径可以根据乳化剂的量来调节。具体地,在乳化剂的量增加的情况下,粒子的平均直径可以减小,并且在乳化剂的量减少的情况下,粒子的平均直径可以增加。
聚合温度和聚合时间可根据聚合方法或聚合引发剂的类型适当确定。例如,聚合温度可以在50℃~300℃的范围内,且聚合时间可以在1小时~20小时的范围内,但聚合温度和聚合时间没有特别限制。
无机或有机过氧化物可以用作聚合引发剂,例如聚合引发剂可以包括:水溶性引发剂,包括过硫酸钾、过硫酸钠和过硫酸铵;或油溶性引发剂,包括氢过氧化枯烯和过氧化苯甲酰。活化剂可以一起用于促进聚合引发剂的引发反应,且活化剂可以包含选自由如下组成的组中的至少一种:甲醛次硫酸氢钠、乙二胺四乙酸钠、硫酸亚铁和右旋糖。
交联剂可用于促进粘合剂的交联,例如可以包括:胺,如二亚乙基三胺、三亚乙基四胺、二乙基氨基丙胺、二甲苯二胺和异佛尔酮二胺;酸酐,如十二烷基琥珀酸酐和邻苯二甲酸酐;聚酰胺树脂、聚硫树脂(polysulfide resin)、酚醛树脂、乙二醇二甲基丙烯酸酯、二乙二醇二甲基丙烯酸酯、三乙二醇二甲基丙烯酸酯、1,3-丁二醇二甲基丙烯酸酯、1,6-己二醇二甲基丙烯酸酯、新戊二醇二甲基丙烯酸酯、三羟甲基丙烷三甲基丙烯酸酯、三羟甲基甲烷三丙烯酸酯和甲基丙烯酸缩水甘油酯。接枝剂可以一起使用,例如接枝剂可以包括甲基丙烯酸芳基酯(AMA)、异氰脲酸三烯丙酯(TAIC)、三芳基胺(TAA)或二芳基胺(DAA)。
缓冲剂例如可以包括NaHCO3、NaOH或NH4OH。
链转移剂例如可以包括:硫醇;萜品,如萜品油烯、二戊烯和t-萜品烯;或卤代烃,如氯仿和四氯化碳。
乳化剂可以是阴离子乳化剂、非离子乳化剂或其混合物,并且在非离子乳化剂与阴离子乳化剂一起使用的情况下,除了阴离子乳化剂的静电稳定化之外,还可以通过聚合物粒子的范德华力以胶体形式提供另外的稳定化。
阴离子乳化剂例如可以包括磷酸盐类、羧酸盐类、硫酸盐类、琥珀酸盐类、磺基琥珀酸盐类、磺酸盐类或二磺酸盐类的乳化剂,并且尽管阴离子乳化剂没有特别限制,但阴离子乳化剂可以具体包括烷基硫酸钠、聚氧乙烯硫酸钠、月桂基醚硫酸钠、聚氧乙烯月桂基醚硫酸钠、月桂基硫酸钠、烷基磺酸钠、烷基醚磺酸钠、烷基苯磺酸钠、直链烷基苯磺酸钠、α-烯烃磺酸钠、醇聚氧乙烯醚磺酸钠、二辛基磺基琥珀酸钠、全氟辛烷磺酸钠、全氟丁烷磺酸钠、烷基二苯基氧二磺酸钠、二辛基磺基琥珀酸钠、烷基芳基磷酸钠、烷基醚磷酸钠或月桂酰基肌氨酸钠。

二次电池用粘合剂组合物可以用作锂二次电池用电极的制备中的粘合剂,特别地,在使用硅类负极活性材料作为负极活性材料的情况中,可以有用地使用所述粘合剂组合物。
由此,本发明提供一种锂二次电池用负极,所述负极包含硅类负极活性材料和二次电池用粘合剂组合物。
所述硅类负极活性材料例如可以包含选自由如下组成的组中的至少一种:硅(Si)、硅氧化物粒子(SiOx,0<x≤2)、Si-金属合金、以及Si和硅氧化物粒子(SiOx,0<x≤2)的合金,且所述硅氧化物粒子(SiOx,0<x≤2)可以是由结晶SiO2和非晶Si构成的复合物。此外,除了硅类负极活性材料之外,通常可以使用能够嵌入并脱嵌锂离子的碳材料、锂金属或锡作为负极活性材料。优选地,可以使用碳材料,其中低结晶碳和高结晶碳两者都可以用作所述碳材料。低结晶碳的典型实例可以是软碳和硬碳,且高结晶碳的典型实例可以是天然石墨、漂浮石墨、热解碳、中间相沥青类碳纤维、中间相碳微球、中间相沥青和高温烧结碳如来自石油或煤焦油沥青的焦炭。
在根据本发明实施方式的锂二次电池用负极中,锂二次电池用负极可以进一步包含碳类负极活性材料,并且在这种情况下,在全部负极活性材料中,可以以1重量%~30重量%、例如5重量%~10重量%的量包含硅类负极活性材料。碳类负极活性材料具体可以包括天然石墨、人造石墨或其混合物。
在锂二次电池用负极包含硅类负极活性材料的情况下,当在电极的负极活性材料层的形成中使用的二次电池用粘合剂具有0.02MPa以上、特别是0.1MPa以上且更特别是0.3MPa~0.5MPa的湿模量时,因为可以适当地抑制由电解液引起的溶胀并且可以保持足够的机械性能,所以可以改善包含所述粘合剂的电极和二次电池的寿命特性。
锂二次电池可以包含负极、正极和设置在负极与正极之间的隔膜。
可以通过本领域已知的典型方法制备负极,例如,将负极活性材料、上述粘合剂和添加剂(例如导电剂)混合并搅拌以制备负极活性材料浆料,然后可以用所述浆料涂布负极集电器,干燥并压制以制备负极。
可以使用诸如N-甲基吡咯烷酮(NMP)、二甲基甲酰胺(DMF)、丙酮和二甲基乙酰胺的有机溶剂或水作为用于形成负极的溶剂。这些溶剂可以单独使用或以其两种以上的混合物使用。考虑到浆料的涂布厚度和制造收率,只要溶剂可以溶解并分散负极活性材料、粘合剂和导电剂,则所用溶剂的量就可以是足够的。
基于用于负极活性材料的浆料的总重量,可以以10重量%以下、特别是0.1重量%~10重量%且更特别是0.5重量%~4重量%的量包含所述二次电池用粘合剂组合物。当粘合剂的量小于0.1重量%时,因为使用粘合剂获得的效果不显著,所以是不期望的,并且当粘合剂的量大于10重量%时,因为可能因粘合剂量的增加所引起的活性材料量的相对减少而致单位体积的容量下降,所以是不期望的。
可以使用任何导电剂而没有特别限制,只要其具有导电性而不会在电池中引起不利的化学变化即可,并且导电剂的实例可以是导电材料,例如:石墨如天然石墨或人造石墨;炭黑如乙炔黑、科琴黑、槽法炭黑、炉黑、灯黑和热裂法炭黑;导电纤维如碳纤维和金属纤维;金属粉末如氟碳化合物粉末、铝粉末和镍粉末;导电晶须如氧化锌晶须和钛酸钾晶须;导电金属氧化物如钛氧化物;或聚亚苯基衍生物。基于用于负极活性材料的浆料的总重量,可以以1重量%~9重量%的量使用导电剂。
根据本发明实施方式的负极中使用的负极集电器可以具有3μm~500μm的厚度。负极集电器没有特别限制,只要其具有导电性而不会在电池中引起不利的化学变化即可,例如可以使用:铜、金、不锈钢、铝、镍、钛、烧结碳;用碳、镍、钛、银等中的一者表面处理过的铜或不锈钢;以及铝-镉合金。此外,可以在集电器的表面上形成微细的不规则以增强负极活性材料的粘附力,并且负极集电器可以以诸如膜、片、箔、网、多孔体、泡沫体和无纺布体等的各种形状使用。
如果需要,在活性材料浆料中可以包含粘度调节剂和/或填料。
所述粘度调节剂可以是羧甲基纤维素或聚丙烯酸,并且可以调节活性材料浆料的粘度,从而通过添加粘度调节剂来促进活性材料浆料的制备和电极集电器的涂布工序。
所述填料是用于抑制电极膨胀的辅助组分,其中没有特别限制,只要它是不会引起电池中化学变化的纤维材料即可,例如填料可以包括:烯烃类聚合物如聚乙烯和聚丙烯;和纤维材料如玻璃纤维和碳纤维。
可以通过本领域已知的典型方法制备正极。例如,将溶剂、上述粘合剂、导电剂和分散剂与正极活性材料混合并搅拌以制备浆料,然后用浆料涂布金属集电器并压制,然后可以通过对涂布的金属集电器进行干燥来制备正极。
所述金属集电器是具有高导电性的金属,其中金属集电器没有特别限制,只要其作为可以容易地粘附正极活性材料的浆料的金属具有高导电性而在电池的电压范围内不会在电池中引起不利化学变化即可,可以使用例如:不锈钢、铝、镍、钛、烧结碳;或用碳、镍、钛、银等中的一者表面处理过的铝或不锈钢。此外,金属集电器可以具有微细的不平坦表面以改善正极活性材料的粘附力。所述集电器可以以诸如膜、片、箔、网、多孔体、泡沫体和无纺布体等的各种形状来使用,并且可以具有3μm~500μm的厚度。

可以使用诸如N-甲基吡咯烷酮(NMP)、二甲基甲酰胺(DMF)、丙酮和二甲基乙酰胺的有机溶剂或水作为用于形成正极的溶剂。这些溶剂可以单独使用或以其两种以上的混合物使用。考虑到浆料的涂布厚度和制造收率,只要溶剂可以溶解并分散正极活性材料、粘合剂和导电剂,则所用溶剂的量就可以是足够的。
可以使用任何导电剂而没有特别限制,只要其具有导电性而不会在电池中引起不利的化学变化即可,例如可以使用导电材料,例如:石墨如天然石墨或人造石墨;炭黑如乙炔黑、科琴黑、槽法炭黑、炉黑、灯黑和热裂法炭黑;导电纤维如碳纤维和金属纤维;导电管如碳纳米管;金属粉末如氟碳化合物粉末、铝粉末和镍粉末;导电晶须如氧化锌晶须和钛酸钾晶须;导电金属氧化物如钛氧化物;或聚亚苯基衍生物。基于正极浆料的总重量,可以以1重量%~20重量%的量使用导电剂。
可以使用水性分散剂或有机分散剂如N-甲基-2-吡咯烷酮作为所述分散剂。
作为隔膜,可以单独或以其层压物的方式使用用作典型隔膜的典型多孔聚合物膜,例如由聚烯烃类聚合物如乙烯均聚物、丙烯均聚物、乙烯/丁烯共聚物、乙烯/己烯共聚物和乙烯/甲基丙烯酸酯共聚物制备的多孔聚合物膜。此外,可以使用典型的多孔无纺布,例如由高熔点玻璃纤维或聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯纤维形成的无纺布,但隔膜不限于此。
可以作为本发明中使用的电解质而包含的锂盐可以没有限制地使用,只要其通常用于锂二次电池用电解质中即可。例如,可以使用选自由如下组成的组中的任意一种作为锂盐的阴离子:F-、Cl-、Br-、I-、NO3 -、N(CN)2 -、BF4 -、ClO4 -、PF6 -、(CF3)2PF4 -、(CF3)3PF3 -、(CF3)4PF2 -、(CF3)5PF-、(CF3)6P-、CF3SO3 -、CF3CF2SO3 -、(CF3SO2)2N-、(FSO2)2N-、CF3CF2(CF3)2CO-、(CF3SO2)2CH-、(SF5)3C-、(CF3SO2)3C-、CF3(CF2)7SO3 -、CF3CO2 -、CH3CO2 -、SCN-和(CF3CF2SO2)2N-。
在本发明中使用的电解液中,可以没有限制地使用通常用于二次电池用电解液中的任何有机溶剂作为电解液中所包含的有机溶剂,并且通常可以使用选自由如下组成的组中的任意一种或其两种以上的混合物:碳酸亚丙酯(PC)、碳酸亚乙酯(EC)、碳酸二乙酯(DEC)、碳酸二甲酯(DMC)、碳酸乙甲酯(EMC)、碳酸甲丙酯、碳酸二丙酯、二甲基亚砜、乙腈、二甲氧基乙烷、二乙氧基乙烷、碳酸亚乙烯基酯、环丁砜、γ-丁内酯、亚硫酸亚丙酯和四氢呋喃。具体地,碳酸酯类有机溶剂中的碳酸亚乙酯和碳酸亚丙酯、环状碳酸酯作为高粘度有机溶剂由于高介电常数而良好地离解电解质中的锂盐,因此,可以优选使用环状碳酸酯。因为当环状碳酸酯与低粘度、低介电常数的线性碳酸酯如碳酸二甲酯和碳酸二乙酯以适当的比例混合时,可以制备具有高导电性的电解液,所以可以更优选使用环状碳酸酯。
选择性地,根据本发明储存的电解液可以进一步包含在典型电解液中包含的诸如过充电抑制剂的添加剂。
锂二次电池的形状没有特别限制,但可以使用使用罐的圆筒型、棱柱型、袋型或硬币型。
根据本发明的锂二次电池不仅可以用在用作小型装置的电源的电池单体(battery cell)中,而且还可以用作包含多个电池单体的中型和大型电池模块中的单元单体(unit cell)。

将作为聚合引发剂的过硫酸钾和少量作为乳化剂的月桂基硫酸钠、以及60g苯乙烯、30g 1,3-丁二烯、8g丙烯酸丁酯和2g聚丙烯酸添加到蒸馏水中并在保持在70℃下的同时反应5小时,以得到平均粒径(D50)为200nm的共聚物粘合剂。
实施例2
除了在实施例1中使用42g聚丙烯酸之外,以与实施例1中相同的方式得到了平均粒径(D50)为350nm的共聚物粘合剂。
实施例3
除了在实施例1中使用98g聚丙烯酸之外,以与实施例1中相同的方式得到了平均粒径(D50)为450nm的共聚物粘合剂。
比较例1
将作为聚合引发剂的过硫酸钾和少量作为乳化剂的月桂基硫酸钠、以及40g苯乙烯、40g 1,3-丁二烯和20g丙烯酸丁酯添加到蒸馏水中并在保持在70℃下的同时反应5小时,以得到平均粒径(D50)为200nm的共聚物粘合剂。
比较例2
除了将1,3-丁二烯和丙烯酸丁酯的量分别改变为50g和10g之外,以与比较例1中相同的方式得到了平均粒径(D50)为200nm的共聚物粘合剂。
负极和锂二次电池的制备
实施例4
<负极的制备>
使用TK混合器以98:1:1:2的重量比对如下混合负极活性材料、增稠剂(羧甲基纤维素)、作为导电剂的炭黑和实施例2中制备的粘合剂进行混合以制备负极浆料,在所述混合负极活性材料中以84.5:10.5:5的重量比对人造石墨:天然石墨:硅类负极活性材料(SiO)进行了混合。用该负极浆料将20μm厚的铜箔涂布至120μm的厚度,在真空烘箱中在100℃下干燥12小时,然后辊压至合适的厚度以制备负极。
<正极的制备>
在将96g作为正极活性材料的LiCoO2、2g乙炔黑和2g作为粘合剂的聚偏二氟乙烯(PVdF)添加到作为溶剂的N-甲基-2-吡咯烷酮(NMP)中以制备正极用浆料之后,利用所述正极用浆料来涂布铝(Al)薄膜,干燥,然后辊压以制备正极。
<锂二次电池的制备>
通过冲压上述制备的负极使得其表面积为13.33cm2并冲压上述制备的正极使得其表面积为12.60cm2,制备了单电池(mono-cell)。将极耳分别结合到正极和负极的上部,将由聚烯烃微孔膜形成的隔膜设置在负极与正极之间,将所得产物放入铝袋中,然后将500mg电解液注入袋中。通过使用碳酸亚乙酯(EC):碳酸二乙酯(DEC):碳酸亚丙酯(PC)(体积比为4:3:3)的混合溶剂以1M的浓度溶解LiPF6电解质,制备了电解液。
此后,在使用真空包装机密封所述袋并在室温下保持12小时之后,对所述袋进行恒压充电过程,其中以约0.05C的倍率进行恒流充电并保持电压,直到电流减小到初始值的约1/6。在这种情况下,因为在单电池(cell)中产生气体,所以实施脱气和再密封工序以完成锂二次电池。
实施例5
除了使用实施例1的共聚物粘合剂作为粘合剂并在实施例4中的制备负极期间使用如下混合负极活性材料之外,以与实施例4相同的方式制备了负极、正极和锂二次电池,在所述混合负极活性材料中以80:10:10的重量比混合有人造石墨:天然石墨:硅类负极活性材料。
实施例6和7
除了使用如下混合负极活性材料并在实施例4中的制备负极期间分别使用实施例2和3的共聚物粘合剂之外,以与实施例4相同的方式分别制备了负极、正极和锂二次电池,在所述混合负极活性材料中以80:10:10的重量比混合有人造石墨:天然石墨:硅类负极活性材料。
实施例8
除了使用如下混合负极活性材料并在实施例4中的制备负极期间使用实施例3的共聚物粘合剂之外,以与实施例4相同的方式制备了负极、正极和锂二次电池,在所述混合负极活性材料中以70:30的重量比混合有人造石墨:硅类负极活性材料。
比较例3和4
除了在实施例4中的制备负极期间分别使用比较例1和2中制备的共聚物粘合剂之外,以与实施例4相同的方式分别制备了负极、正极和锂二次电池。
比较例5
除了使用如下混合负极活性材料并在实施例4中的制备负极期间使用比较例1中制备的共聚物粘合剂之外,以与实施例4相同的方式制备了负极、正极和锂二次电池,在所述混合负极活性材料中以70:30的重量比混合有人造石墨:硅类负极活性材料。
实验例
实验例1:模量和电解液溶胀的测量
通过使用万能试验机(UTM)对各种粘合剂施加负荷而得到的应力-应变曲线,利用在各种粘合剂中产生的拉伸应力-拉伸应变之间的关系,对在实施例1~3和比较例1和2中制备的各种共聚物粘合剂的干模量和湿模量进行了测量。
具体地,在碟皿(dish)上将各种分散在溶剂中的粘合剂(在实施例1~3和比较例1和2中制备)涂布至预定厚度并干燥之后,将各种粘合剂膜切割成如下图1所示的尺寸以制备样品并进行实验。
使用该样品测量干模量,并且使用其中将该样品在EC/DEC/PC(体积比3:2:5)的混合溶剂中浸渍48小时然后在室温下干燥5分钟而得的样品测量湿模量。在这种情况下,对样品和浸渍后样品的长度进行比较,并计算浸渍后长度的增加程度,以评价电解液溶胀的程度。其结果列于下表1中。
实验例2:容量保持率的测量

对实施例4以及比较例3和4中制备的锂二次电池进行充电和放电试验30次,其中充电和放电电流密度为0.5C,充电终止电压为4.2V(Li/Li+)并且放电终止电压为3V(Li/Li+)。
所有充电均在恒定电流/恒定电压条件下进行,并且恒定电压充电的终止电流设定为0.05C。在完成总共30个试验循环之后,将当将初始放电容量设定为100%时在各个循环中测量的放电容量示于图2中。
<1C容量保持率的测量>
对实施例5~7中制备的锂二次电池进行充电和放电试验130次,其中充电和放电电流密度为1C,充电终止电压为4.2V(Li/Li+)并且放电终止电压为3V(Li/Li+)。

参考表1和图2,对于比较例1和2的具有低湿模量的共聚物粘合剂,可以确认,与实施例2的具有高湿模量的共聚物粘合剂相比,共聚物粘合剂本身因电解液而大幅溶胀。此外,可以确认,与实施例4的通过使用实施例2的共聚物粘合剂制备的负极和二次电池相比,比较例3和4的通过使用比较例1和2的共聚物粘合剂制备的负极和二次电池具有更差的容量保持率。二次电池的容量保持率随所用共聚物粘合剂的湿模量的变化可以由图3来确认。参考图3,可以确认,共聚物粘合剂的湿模量越高,通过使用其制备的负极和二次电池的容量保持率越好。特别地,可以确认,当湿模量为0.1以上时可以得到良好的容量保持率,并且当湿模量为0.3以上时可以得到最佳的容量保持率。
此外,图4显示了当通过使用其中以70:30的重量比混合人造石墨和硅类负极活性材料而得的负极活性材料制备负极时,对效果随共聚物粘合剂的类型的差异进行比较的实验结果。参考图4,可以确认,实施例8的包含实施例3的共聚物粘合剂的负极和二次电池显示出比比较例5的包含比较例1的共聚物粘合剂的负极和二次电池更好的容量保持率。由此,在包含由充电和放电引起的体积变化大的硅类负极活性材料的负极中使用本发明的湿模量为0.02MPa以上的共聚物粘合剂的情况中,可以确认,因为共聚物粘合剂表现出改善的粘附力并保持高的机械性能,所以可以改善二次电池的寿命性能。
Claims (14)
1.一种二次电池用粘合剂组合物,所述粘合剂组合物包含:
共聚物粘合剂,所述共聚物粘合剂包含选自由如下组成的组中的至少一种单元:(A)源自乙烯基类单体的单元、(B)源自共轭二烯类单体或共轭二烯类聚合物的单元、(C)源自(甲基)丙烯酸酯类单体的单元、和(D)源自水溶性聚合物的单元,
其中所述共聚物粘合剂具有0.02MPa以上的湿模量。
2.如权利要求1所述的二次电池用粘合剂组合物,其中所述共聚物包含:
1重量份~70重量份的(A)源自乙烯基类单体的单元、
10重量份~97重量份的(B)源自共轭二烯类单体或共轭二烯类聚合物的单元、
1重量份~30重量份的(C)源自(甲基)丙烯酸酯类单体的单元、和1重量份~70重量份的(D)源自水溶性聚合物的单元,
其中所述重量份基于所述共聚物的100重量份总重量。
3.如权利要求2所述的二次电池用粘合剂组合物,其中所述共聚物包含:
30重量份~60重量份的(A)源自乙烯基类单体的单元、
15重量份~30重量份的(B)源自共轭二烯类单体或共轭二烯类聚合物的单元、
4重量份~8重量份的(C)源自(甲基)丙烯酸酯类单体的单元、和
2重量份~50重量份的(D)源自水溶性聚合物的单元,
其中所述重量份基于所述共聚物的100重量份总重量。
4.如权利要求1所述的二次电池用粘合剂组合物,其中所述共聚物粘合剂为粒子形式并且具有100nm~1μm的平均粒径(D50)。
5.如权利要求1所述的二次电池用粘合剂组合物,其中(A)的乙烯基类单体包含选自由如下组成的组中的至少一种:苯乙烯、α-甲基苯乙烯、β-甲基苯乙烯、对叔丁基苯乙烯和二乙烯基苯。
6.如权利要求1所述的二次电池用粘合剂组合物,其中(B)的共轭二烯类单体包含1,3-丁二烯、异戊二烯、氯丁二烯或戊间二烯,并且
(B)的共轭二烯类聚合物包含选自由如下组成的组中的至少一种:选自由1,3-丁二烯、异戊二烯、氯丁二烯和戊间二烯组成的组中的两种以上单体的聚合物;苯乙烯-丁二烯共聚物;丙烯腈-丁二烯共聚物;苯乙烯-异戊二烯共聚物;丙烯酸酯-丁二烯橡胶;丙烯腈-丁二烯-苯乙烯橡胶;乙烯-丙烯-二烯类聚合物;以及它们的部分氢化、环氧化或溴化的形式。
7.如权利要求1所述的二次电池用粘合剂组合物,其中(D)的水溶性聚合物包含选自由如下组成的组中的至少一种单元:源自(甲基)丙烯酸酯类单体的单元、源自(甲基)丙烯酰胺类单体的单元以及源自不饱和羧酸类单体和乙酸乙烯酯单体的单元。
8.如权利要求1所述的二次电池用粘合剂组合物,其中(D)的水溶性聚合物包含选自由如下组成的组中的至少一种:聚乙烯醇(PVA)、聚丙烯酸(PAA)和聚丙烯酰胺(PAM)。
9.如权利要求7所述的二次电池用粘合剂组合物,其中所述(甲基)丙烯酸酯类单体包含选自由如下组成的组中的至少一种:丙烯酸甲酯、丙烯酸乙酯、丙烯酸丙酯、丙烯酸异丙酯、丙烯酸正丁酯、丙烯酸异丁酯、丙烯酸正戊酯、丙烯酸异戊酯、丙烯酸n-乙基己酯、丙烯酸2-乙基己酯、丙烯酸2-羟乙酯、甲基丙烯酸甲酯、甲基丙烯酸乙酯、甲基丙烯酸丙酯、甲基丙烯酸异丙酯、甲基丙烯酸正丁酯、甲基丙烯酸异丁酯、甲基丙烯酸正戊酯、甲基丙烯酸异戊酯、甲基丙烯酸正己酯、甲基丙烯酸n-乙基己酯、甲基丙烯酸2-乙基己酯、甲基丙烯酸羟乙酯、甲基丙烯酸羟丙酯、甲基丙烯酰氧乙基亚乙基脲、丙烯酸β-羧基乙酯、脂族单丙烯酸酯、二丙二醇二丙烯酸酯、二(三羟甲基丙烷)四丙烯酸酯、丙烯酸羟乙酯、二季戊四醇六丙烯酸酯、季戊四醇三丙烯酸酯、季戊四醇四丙烯酸酯、丙烯酸月桂基酯、丙烯酸十六烷基酯、丙烯酸硬脂基酯、甲基丙烯酸月桂基酯、甲基丙烯酸十六烷基酯和甲基丙烯酸硬脂基酯。
10.如权利要求7所述的二次电池用粘合剂组合物,其中所述(甲基)丙烯酰胺类单体包含选自由如下组成的组中的至少一种:丙烯酰胺、N-羟甲基丙烯酰胺、N-丁氧基甲基丙烯酰胺、甲基丙烯酰胺、N-羟甲基甲基丙烯酰胺和N-丁氧基甲基甲基丙烯酰胺。
11.如权利要求7所述的二次电池用粘合剂组合物,其中所述不饱和羧酸类单体包含选自由如下组成的组中的至少一种:马来酸、富马酸、甲基丙烯酸、丙烯酸、戊二酸、衣康酸、四氢邻苯二甲酸、巴豆酸、异巴豆酸和纳迪克酸。
12.一种锂二次电池用负极,包含:
硅类负极活性材料;和
权利要求1的二次电池用粘合剂组合物。
13.如权利要求12所述的锂二次电池用负极,还包含碳类负极活性材料,
其中在全部负极活性材料中,所述硅类负极活性材料以1重量%~30重量%的量被包含。
14.一种锂二次电池,包含权利要求12的锂二次电池用负极。
