具体实施方式
本发明的各方面涉及头戴式计算(“HWC”)系统。HWC在某些情况下涉及到一种模拟头戴式眼镜或太阳镜的外观的系统。所述眼镜可以是充分开发的计算平台,诸如包括在眼镜的镜片中的每一个中呈现给用户的眼睛的计算机显示器。在实施例中,镜片和显示器可被配置成允许穿戴眼镜的人通过镜片看到环境,同时也同时地看到数字图像,所述数字图像形成被人感知为环境的数字增强图像或增强现实(“AR”)的覆盖图像。

HWC 102还可具有许多集成计算设施,诸如集成处理器、集成电源管理、通信结构(例如,小区网、WiFi、蓝牙、本地区域连接、网状连接、远程连接(例如,客户端服务器等))等。HWC 102还可具有许多位置感知传感器,诸如GPS、电子指南针、高度计、倾斜传感器、IMU等。其还可具有其它传感器,诸如相机、测距仪、超谱相机、盖格计数器、麦克风、光谱照明检测器、温度传感器、化学传感器、生物传感器、湿度传感器、超声波传感器等。
HWC 102还可具有集成控制技术。集成控制技术可以是基于情境的控制、被动控制、主动控制、用户控制等。例如,HWC 102可具有集成传感器(例如,相机),其捕捉用户手或身体手势116,使得集成处理系统可以解释手势并生成控制命令以用于HWC 102。在另一示例中,HWC 102可具有检测移动(例如,点头、摇头等)的传感器,包括加速度计、陀螺仪及其它惯性测量,其中,集成处理器可解释所述移动并作为响应而生成控制命令。HWC 102还可基于测量或感知的环境条件而自动地控制其本身。例如,如果环境是明亮的,则HWC 102可增加所显示图像的亮度或对比度。在实施例中,可将集成控制技术安装在HWC 102上,使得用户可以直接地与之相交互。例如,HWC 102可具有(一个或多个)按钮、触摸电容接口等。
如本文所述,HWC 102可与外部用户接口104通信。外部用户接口可采取许多不同形式。例如,蜂窝电话屏幕可被适配成获取用户输入以实现HWC 102的方面的控制。外部用户接口可以是专用UI,诸如键盘、触摸表面、(一个或多个)按钮、操纵杆等。在实施例中,可将外部控制器集成到另一设备(诸如,戒指、手表、自行车、汽车等)中。在每种情况下,外部用户接口104可包括用以提供用于控制HWD 104的附加输入的传感器(例如IMU、加速度计、指南针、高度计等)。
如本文所述,HWC 102可控制其它本地设备108或与之相协调。外部设备108可以是音频设备、视觉设备、运载工具、蜂窝电话、计算机等。例如,本地外部设备108可以是另一HWC 102,在那里然后可在单独的HWC 108之间交换信息。
类似于HWC 102可控制本地设备106或与之相协调的方式,HWC 102可控制远程设备112或与之相协调,诸如HWC 102通过网络110与远程设备112通信。再次地,远程设备112的形式可具有许多形式。在这些形式中包括另一HWC 102。例如,每个HWC 102可传送其GPS位置,使得所有HWC 102知道HWC 102中的所有位于哪里。

本发明的一方面涉及头戴式计算机的侧臂的机械和电学构造。一般地,当头戴式计算机采取眼镜、太阳镜、某些护目镜或其它此类形式的形式时,包括两个侧臂以用于在穿戴头戴式计算机的人的耳朵上安装并固定头戴式计算机。在实施例中,侧臂还可包括电子件、电池、导线、天线、计算机处理器、计算机板等。在实施例中,侧臂可包括两个或更多子组件。例如,如下面将更详细地讨论的,侧臂可包括镜腿区段和耳角区段。两个区段可例如被机械地布置成允许耳角区段移动,使得两个侧臂可以折叠到闭合位置。

本发明的一方面涉及一种可调整鼻梁。可调整鼻梁对头戴式计算机、尤其是具有计算机显示器的那些来说可能是重要的,以确保显示器和/或头戴式计算机的其它部分的舒适和对准。图6图示出具有可调整鼻梁602的HWC 102。鼻梁可通过HWC 102中的机构来调整。在实施例中,所述机构包括固定的凹口附件604、被适配成配合到凹口附件604的凹口中的活动销608以及被附连到活动销608的选择器件610。活动销608和鼻梁602被连接,使得随着活动销608移动就位时,鼻梁602也移动就位。选择器件610促使活动销608在按压并被允许缩回时与固定的凹口附件604卡合和分离。如图6中所示,选择器件610并未处于被按下位置,因此活动销608与凹口附件604卡合,使得鼻梁被牢固地附连在稳定位置上。图7图示出其中选择器件被按下或激活、使得活动销608不再与固定的凹口附件604卡合的情形。这允许鼻梁602相对于HWC 102的其余部分上下移动。一旦活动销608与凹口附件604的凹口对准,则两个部分可卡合而将鼻梁重新固定在HWC 102中。

在实施例中,扬声器系统与HWC 102之间的连接可位于除镜腿区段下面之外的位置。其可位于例如侧臂的一段的侧面、顶部、底部、末端上。其可位于例如前桥上。在实施例中,可将扬声器系统连接到顶部或侧面部分,并且可将扬声器进一步定位成面朝前,远离用户的耳朵。这可以是用于向其他人提供声音的有用配置。例如,此类配置可在用户想要向附近的人提供翻译时使用。用户可用一种语言说话,使该语言被翻译,并且然后通过面朝前的扬声器说出。
扬声器系统的可移除性质对于分离情况而言可能是期望的,因此障碍不会将眼镜从用户扯掉或者硬拉到用户的耳朵上。可移除性质还可对其中用户想要互换扬声器类型或附连其它附件的模块化配置有用。例如,用户可能在一个点上想要耳塞且在另一点上想要开放式耳部扬声器配置,并且用户可能能够在给定此配置的情况下容易地进行交换。HWC102上的端口还可被适配成包括例如灯或传感器的其它附件。所述附件可具有环境光传感器以帮助控制例如在HWC 102显示器中使用的照明和对比度系统。在实施例中,扬声器端口可被用作用于HWC 102的充电端口或用于HWC 102的数据端口。
本发明的一方面涉及一种具有头戴式计算机的语言翻译系统。在实施例中,头戴式计算机包括麦克风和音频通信系统。麦克风与处理器相关联并被用来记录穿戴头戴式计算机的人说的话。麦克风位于头戴式计算机中,使得穿戴头戴式计算机的人可以以正常音调和音量说话,并且麦克风将记录用户的话。头戴式系统进一步被适配成将说的话转换成除说的话所表示的第一所说语言之外的语言,形成翻译语言。例如,如果用户正在用英语说话,则记录的用英语说的单词将被识别并转换成第二语言(例如西班牙语)。转换的语言然后可以在音频系统中被播放,使得转换语言通过关联扬声器系统被播放。
语言翻译系统中的扬声器可被有线或无线地连接到头戴式计算机。扬声器还将具有足够的尺寸和功率以产生声强,使得对话距离处的人能够以对话水平听到声音。例如,扬声器可在距其5英尺的距离处产生在约30至40 db范围内的声音。这是相对安静的对话声强,并且可在安静的声级环境中使用。扬声器可在距其5英尺的距离处产生在约40至60 db范围内的声音。这是中度声级,并且可在中度声级环境中使用。扬声器可在距其5英尺的距离处产生在约60至80 db范围内的声音。这是相对高声的声级,并且可在高声的环境中使用。扬声器可以强大到足以用于最大水平(例如80 db),并且音频系统可以可控至较低水平(例如30 db)。在实施例中,来自扬声器的声级可根据环境中的声音而被自动地调节。在实施例中,声级可被手动地调节。手动调节系统可通过手势控制、被适配成调节头戴式计算机的各方面的外部用户接口、安装在头戴式计算机上的控件等被调节。手动调节系统可被扬声器本身上的控件调节。
在实施例中,扬声器被适配成位于与头戴式计算机分离地在其中其可以被机械地固定但将促使声音从与用户话语的方向类似的方向发出的位置处。例如,扬声器可在机械上被适配成配合到用户的衬衫口袋中。这至少部分地将扬声器隐藏并将其固定,使得声音来自与用户的话语类似的方向。扬声器可在机械上被适配成夹持到用户的衬衫上或者另外被适配成被适当地定位。
头戴式计算机可进一步被适配成将翻译语言传送到扬声器,并在被头戴式计算机机械支撑的透视头戴式显示器中显示第一或第二语言的视觉表示。例如,视觉表示可以是基于话而转换的源语言的表示,使得穿戴头戴式计算机的人可以看到作为转换过程的输出的语言作为确认。这可以帮助避免错误传达。在转换过程不适当地转换所说语言的情况下,用户将能够修正系统,因为所述视觉表示将为其给出不适当转换的指示。作为另一示例,视觉显示可表示已转换语言。这可帮助穿戴头戴式计算机的人学习第二语言。其还可在其中用户正在尝试说出第二语言且仅仅想要不时地来自头戴式系统的帮助的情况下有用。例如,用户可将语言转换系统关掉,并然后在他发现自己缺乏对如何用第二语言说出某些东西的理解时将其开启。一旦开启,转换系统可以通过向另一个人说出已转换语言和/或在透视显示器中显示单词或其它表示来帮助他。
在实施例中,用户可能能够将第一或第二语言的视觉表示关掉。此用户控制可以在许多情况下有帮助。例如,用户可能想要依赖于转换系统而不想要在其视场中呈现的语言的视觉表示的附加分心。当用户想要向另一个人、情况或环境提供更大的注意力时情况可能如此。该用户控制可用手势、外部用户接口、头戴式计算机安装的用户接口等来控制。用户接口还可在透视显示器中提供用户接口和/或用户接口的状态的视觉表示。
头戴式计算机中的语言转换系统的另一方面涉及通过扬声器系统产生的第二语言的可听音调的控制。可存在其中自定义或预定可听音调的使用可能有用的情况。例如,如果来自扬声器的可听音调近似用户自己的可听音调,则系统可在用户与收听者之间产生更人性的情形。例如,翻译语言可基于用户说的话而具有可听频谱。可听频谱可通过说的话的频谱的分析来确定。分析可导致在向扬声器传送翻译语言时使用多个预定音调中的一个。例如,选定音调可以是男高音调、男中音调、男低音调、女高音调、女中音调、女低音调等。在实施例中,用户可手动地选择音调。

本发明的另一方面涉及以计算机不会由于HWC 102的额外前面重量而从用户的鼻子滑落、但不会对用户造成不适的方式将头戴式计算机102固定到用户的头部。虽然已有人设计了使用两个侧臂之间的横向力来在用户的头的侧面挤压HWC臂的系统,但这种解决方案往往引起舒适度问题。在用户头上的挤压与非计算机眼镜相比必须是相对高的,以保持足以克服在眼镜前面的附加重量的压力而此高压往往引起舒适度问题。在本发明的实施例中,提供了基本上刚性的耳角,并且耳角的后端环绕用户头部周围并触碰用户的头。触碰点朝向用户的头的后面,使得其为HWC 102提供反作用力的点或面积,如果HWC 102由于HWC102的前面重量而试图向前或向下拉动用户的鼻子的话。在实施例中,耳角的末端或末端附近的区段具有触垫。该触垫可由软材料制成,因此其在用户的头后面是舒适的。在实施例中,可以安装触垫使得其具有角度灵活性。角度灵活性允许触垫更好地与用户头上的触碰点对准,因此其可以提供反作用力,但是将力散布在一定面积上以获得更大的舒适度。
在实施例中,提供了一种头戴式计算机,并且其具有透视计算机显示器,其被配置成被安装在用户的头上;侧臂,其被配置成将透视计算机显示器固定到用户的头部,所述侧臂进一步被配置成被定位成接近于用户的耳朵抵靠用户的头;以及所述侧臂包括刚性构件,其在用户的耳后延伸,轮廓确定成基本上遵循在用户耳朵后面的用户头部的弯曲,并且朝着用户头部的后部碰触用户的头的一部分,使得透视计算机显示器在用户眼睛前面的位置上保持基本上固定。
在实施例中,刚性构件被可移除地固定到侧臂的镜腿部分(如在本文中的别处所述)。所述刚性构件可以可伸缩地调整以适应用户的头。所述刚性构件可提供有用于调整伸缩调整的棘齿式固定机构。所述刚性构件可提供有用于调整伸缩调整的可旋转式固定机构,或者可提供另一样式固定机构。刚性构件可在刚性构件的后端处碰触用户的头的一部分。刚性构件的后端可包括触垫。触垫可由软材料制成以增加触摸面积的舒适度和表面面积。触垫可被附连成使得其具有角度灵活性,使得触垫改变位置以增加与用户头的后部接触的触摸表面。
图9图示出安装在用户的头上的HWC 102。HWC 102具有透视光学件模块204、镜腿部分304、刚性耳角904和头部触垫902。如在本文中的别处所述,刚性耳角904可以是可移除且可替换的。这在例如期望耳角从一个类型至另一个或从一个尺寸至另一个的交换时可以有用。刚性耳角904可由铝、铝管、碳纤维或相对硬的其它材料制成。该硬度应是提供横向非柔性、使得触垫902可以以高度面朝后的向量施加反作用力的水平。刚性耳角904中的过多柔性在HWC 102的重量向前/向下拉动鼻子时能够减小力的面朝后的向量。在实施例中,可提供刚性耳角904的多个不同长度、形状、硬度等,因此用户可以选择最佳地服务于其目的的装置。头部触垫902可由软材料、可锻材料等制成以向用户提供舒适度并增加头部触摸表面。头部触垫902还可以这种方式安装,即头部触垫902可以在其被施压时弯曲和/或改变角度。头部触垫902可例如被用铰接或枢轴机构安装在刚性耳角904上,使得当HWC 102被放在用户的头上时,头部触垫902本身与用户的头对准。此配置可增加头部触垫902与用户的头之间的触摸表面面积,并且产生较大的反作用力以防止HWC 102的滑动或移动。
在实施例中,HWC 102的侧臂与具有刚性侧臂904和头部触垫902一起被设计成在用户的头上施加向内横向压力,但是该横向压力被减小,因此其不是不舒适的。在这些实施例中,除通过由侧臂施加的向内横向力所施加的反作用力之外,耳角904和头部触垫902也引起显著的反作用力。
本发明的另一方面涉及头戴式计算机的热管理。在实施例中,头戴式计算机是具有无限连接的高性能独立式计算机,其中,电子件是紧凑的以配合到眼镜式形状因数中。在实施例中,主要的热量产生电子件是在头戴式计算机的镜片的顶部上的梁区段的上部中(例如,如结合图3B所述)。本文所述的热管理技术管理热量,使得系统可以在高温环境(例如55摄氏度环境)下操作,并且为用户保持舒适的温度(例如,沿着前额区段在70摄氏度以下)。

图10图示出实施例顶板1000的多角度视图。顶板外视图1002图示出顶板1002的顶部上的散热片。所述散热片在成品头戴式计算机组件的外面,并且将热量消散到周围环境中。顶板前视图1004图示出顶板的前面角度。顶板内视图1008图示出顶板的底视图。底部是在完全组装的头戴式计算机中的电路板腔体的内部上的部分。顶板1000的底部可具有用以促进与电路板和/或电路板上的部件的机械和热连接的特征。例如,在图10中所示的实施例中,顶板1000包括内部部件热连接垫1010。热连接垫1010可被适配成与内部电路板和/或电路板上的部件(例如处理器、存储器或其它热量产生部件)机械且热连接。所述组件可在顶板1000与电路板和/或电路板部件之间具有中间材料(例如,散热板,其被设计成从部件或部件集合接收热量且然后将热量散布在面积、导热膏、胶、垫或其它促进材料上)。在实施例中,将导热材料放置在电路板和/或(一个或多个)电路板部件与顶板1000的热连接垫1010之间以消除否则可能由于组件中的部件的机械失配而产生的任何气隙。这可以进一步促进从(一个或多个)热量产生部件(例如处理器)到热连接垫1010且通过散热片外出到周围环境的热传递。本发明人在热测试设备中使用了来自Fujupoly的导热材料。此材料具有所宣称的11 Watt/m-k的导热率。Watt/m-k是用于热界面材料的热效率的测量单位。
图11图示出关于具有如本文所述的顶板1000组件的头戴式计算机的某些测试结果。将头戴式计算机置于55摄氏度下的环境舱中。然后开启头戴式计算机并观察顶板1000的温度。还观察处理器的操作。如可以看到的,顶板1000的最大温度保持在70摄氏度以下。虽然70摄氏度仍是相当热的最大温度,但散热片使得组件被人类触摸起来是舒适的。除保持可接受的外部组件温度之外,处理器纵贯整个测试过程继续操作,这相比于现有技术而言是明显的优点。

在本文中和别处所述的方法、程序代码以及指令可在移动设备上或通过移动设备来实现。移动设备可包括导航设备、蜂窝电话、移动电话、移动个人数字助理、膝上计算机、掌上式电脑、上网本、寻呼机、电子书阅读器、音乐播放器等。这些设备除其它部件之外还可包括存储介质,诸如闪存、缓冲器、RAM、ROM和一个或多个计算设备。可使得与移动设备相关联的计算设备能够执行存储在其上面的程序代码、方法以及指令。替换地,移动设备可被配置成与其它设备相合作地执行指令。移动设备可与跟服务器对接且被配置成执行程序代码的基站通信。移动设备可在端对端网络、网状网络或其它通信网络上通信。程序代码可被存储在与服务器相关联的存储介质上并被嵌入服务器内的计算设备执行。基站可包括计算设备和存储介质。存储设备可存储被与基站相关联的计算设备执行的程序代码和指令。
可在可包括以下各项的机器可读介质上存储和/或访问计算机软件、程序代码和/或指令:保持被用于在一定时间间隔内的计算的数字数据的计算机部件、设备以及记录介质;称为随机存取存储器(RAM)的半导体储存器;通常用于更持久的存储的大容量储存器,诸如光盘、类似于硬盘、磁带、鼓、卡片及其它类型的磁性储存器的形式;处理器寄存器、高速缓冲存储器、易失性存储器、非易失性存储器;光学储存器,诸如CD、DVD;可移除介质,诸如闪存(例如USB棒或钥匙)、软盘、磁带、纸带、穿孔卡、独立RAM盘、压缩驱动器、可移除大容量储存器、离线等;其它计算机存储器,诸如动态存储器、静态存储器、读/写储存器、可变储存器、只读、随机存取、顺序存取、位置可寻址、文件可寻址、内容可寻址、网络附连存储、存储区域网、条形码、磁性墨水等。
本文所述的方法和系统可将物理和/或无形项目从一个状态变换成另一个。本文所述的方法和系统还可将表示物理和/或无形项目的数据从一个状态变换成另一个。

Claims (15)

1.一种语言翻译系统,包括:
a. 头戴式计算机,其包括麦克风和音频通信系统,其中,所述头戴式计算机被适配成记录穿戴头戴式计算机的人说的话,将所说的话转换成除所说的话所表示的第一说出语言之外的语言,形成翻译语言;
b. 扬声器,具有足以产生声强使得对话距离处的人能够听到处于对话水平的声音的尺寸,扬声器通过音频通信系统与头戴式计算机通信;以及
c. 头戴式计算机进一步被适配成将翻译语言传送到扬声器,并在被头戴式计算机机械支撑的透视头戴式显示器中显示第一说出语言的视觉表示。
2.权利要求1的语言系统,其中,所述音频通信系统是向扬声器提供音频信号的有线系统。
3.权利要求1的语言系统,其中,所述音频通信系统是向扬声器提供音频信号的无线系统。
4.权利要求1的语言系统,其中,所述扬声器尺寸在距所述扬声器5英尺的距离处产生在约30至40 db范围内的声音。
5.权利要求1的语言系统,其中,所述扬声器尺寸在距所述扬声器5英尺的距离处产生在约40至60 db范围内的声音。
6.权利要求1的语言系统,其中,所述扬声器尺寸在距所述扬声器5英尺的距离处产生在约60至80 db范围内的声音。
7.权利要求1的语言系统,其中,所述头戴式计算机进一步被适配成将说的话转换成翻译语言,其中,所述翻译语言具有基于用户所说的话的可听频谱。
8.权利要求7的语言系统,其中,所述可听频谱是通过对所说的话的频谱的分析确定的,
其中,所述分析导致将在向扬声器传送翻译语言时使用的多个音调中的一个。
9.权利要求8的语言系统,其中,所述一个音调是男高音调、男中音调、男低音调、女高音调、女中音调、女低音调中的至少一个。
10.权利要求1的语言系统,其中,所述扬声器在机械上被适配成适合到用户的衬衫口袋中。
11.权利要求1的语言系统,其中,所述扬声器在机械上被适配成夹持到用户的衬衫上。
12.权利要求1的语言系统,其中,所述头戴式计算机进一步被适配有关掉第一说出语言的视觉表示的显示的用户接口。
13.一种头戴式计算机,包括:
a. 第一侧臂,包括镜腿区段和耳角区段;
b. 镜腿区段,包括固定附连系统;以及
c. 耳角区段,包括被适配成与固定附连系统相配合的插销,其中,当施加压力以将耳角区段从镜腿区段拉离时,耳角区段安全地与镜腿区段分离,并且耳角区段被适配成绕着插销旋转,促使耳角位于折叠位置;其中,所述折叠位置包括用于第二侧臂在第一侧臂顶部上完全折叠的空隙。
14.一种头戴式计算机,包括:
a. 镜腿部分,其被机械地固定到计算机显示器并被适配成将计算机显示器定位于用户眼睛的前方;以及
b. 镜腿部分包括扬声器附件,其中,所述扬声器附件被适配成:
1.将扬声器组件牢固地定位并使扬声器组件与在头戴式计算机内部的电子件电关联;以及
2.促进用户将扬声器组件与镜腿部分释放和重新固定。
15.一种头戴式计算机,包括:
a. 上隔室,其被适配成包含处理器、存储器以及传感器系统,所述上隔室位于镜片组件上面且包括顶板;
b. 顶板包括在机械上被适配成促进处理器与顶板之间的连接的处理器连接垫;
c. 导热材料,其位于所述处理器连接垫与所述处理器之间以减小气隙并进一步促进处理器与顶板之间的热连接;以及
d. 顶板还具有被适配成消散从处理器接收到的热量的散热片。
