Claims (5)
- 観察者の頭部の傾き角度を検出するための角度検出手段と、
外界の像に重畳するように所定の画像を表示するものであって、上記角度検出手段により検出された観察者の頭部の傾き角度に応じて、画像を表示する表示状態と、画像を非表示とする非表示状態と、を切り換える表示手段と、
上記表示手段の非表示状態が所定時間以上継続したときには、その後に頭部の傾き角度が上記表示状態に対応する傾き角度になった場合であっても、非表示状態を継続的に維持するように該表示手段を制御する制御手段と、
を具備したことを特徴とする頭部装着型表示装置。 - 上記表示手段は、上記角度検出手段により検出された観察者の頭部の傾き角度が、所定の角度範囲内である場合に上記表示状態とし、該所定の角度範囲を逸脱する場合には上記非表示状態とするように切り換えるものであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の頭部装着型表示装置。
- 上記表示手段は、上記表示状態において、観察者から観察したときの上記画像の上記外界に対する相対的な位置が、該観察者の頭部の傾きに関わらずほぼ一定となるように、上記角度検出手段により検出された観察者の上記頭部の傾き方向とは逆方向に、該角度検出手段により検出された角度に相当する量だけ上記画像を移動させて表示するものであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の頭部装着型表示装置。
- 上記制御手段は、上記表示手段の非表示状態が所定時間以上継続したときには、さらに、当該頭部装着型表示装置の電源をオフにするように制御するか、または当該頭部装着型表示装置を低消費電力モードに設定するように制御するものであることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項3の何れか一項に記載の頭部装着型表示装置。
- 上記所定時間を所望の長さの時間に設定するための時間設定手段をさらに具備したことを特徴とする請求項1から請求項4の何れか一項に記載の頭部装着型表示装置。
