Description
以下、本発明の第1の実施の形態を、図1〜図6を参照して説明する。
電流が流れる。
次に、本発明の第2の実施の形態について、図9と図10を参照して説明する。図9は、入力ペンの先端部近傍を断面で示した図である。本実施の形態は、入力ペン200の先端部に微小なボールレンズを複数個並べた例としてある。上述した第1の実施の形態では、ボールレンズ100aが入力ペン100の先端に1個だけ設置されている場合について述べてきたが、本実施の形態においては、ボールレンズを複数個設置して光を反射させるように構成したものである。
次に、本発明の第3の実施の形態について、図11と図12を参照して説明する。本実施の形態は、上述した第1の実施の形態の入力ペンの内部に内蔵光源を設けてあり、内蔵光源を発光させることで入力ペンのペン先端部を発光させて表示部に入力操作させる構成としたものである。
次に、本発明の第4の実施の形態について、図13と図14を参照して説明する。本実施の形態は、上述した第1の実施の形態の入力ペンのボールレンズの表面に塗布した全反射膜の代わりに波長選択性反射膜を形成した構成例としてある。
次に、本発明の第5の実施の形態について、図15と図16を参照して説明する。本実施の形態は、上述した第1の実施の形態で説明した入力ペンのボールレンズの全反射膜の反対側に波長選択性の透過膜を形成した構成例としてある。
次に、本発明の第6の実施の形態について、図17を参照して説明する。本実施の形態は、上述した第1の実施の形態で説明した入力ペンのボールレンズ自体を波長選択性の透過材料を用いて形成した例としてある。

Claims (9)
- 光を利用して情報を入力する装置であって、
先端部を有する本体部と、
前記先端部に保持された略球状のレンズ部と、
前記先端部と前記レンズ部との間に配置されると共に、装置の外部からの入射光を全反射する全反射膜からなる反射部材と、
前記レンズ部における前記反射部材とは反対側に配置されると共に、前記入射光のうちの所定の波長領域の光を選択的に透過する波長選択性透過膜と
を備えた入力装置。 - 前記先端部は凹状の曲面により形成され、
前記レンズ部のうちの前記先端部と対向する部分の曲面の曲率は、前記先端部の凹状の曲面の曲率と略同一である
請求項1に記載の入力装置。 - 前記レンズ部は、前記先端部と対向する部分以外の部分が前記先端部から突出するように保持されている
請求項1に記載の入力装置。 - 前記全反射膜の配置面積は、前記レンズ部全体の表面積の半分以下である
請求項1に記載の入力装置。 - 複数の前記レンズ部が、前記先端部に保持されている
請求項1に記載の入力装置。 - 発光機能および受光機能を兼有する表示装置に対して入力装置を用いて情報を入力する方法であって、
前記入力装置の先端部に保持されると共に前記表示装置の発光機能を利用して発せられた表示光を透過可能な略球形状のレンズ部と、このレンズ部における前記入力装置の外側に配置されると共に前記表示光のうちの所定の波長領域の光を選択的に透過可能な波長選択性透過膜とを介して、前記表示光のうちの所定の波長領域の光を選択的に入射するステップと、
入射した前記表示光のうちの所定の波長領域の光を、前記入力装置の内部の全反射膜にて全反射して前記表示装置側へと導くステップと、
反射された前記表示光のうちの所定の波長領域の光を、前記表示装置の受光機能を利用して受光するステップと
を含む入力方法。 - 前記レンズ部の大きさが互いに異なる複数の入力装置を用意し、
前記複数の入力装置におけるレンズ部の大きさの違いに対応した、前記表示光のうちの所定の波長領域の光の反射光量の違いを検出し、
検出結果に基づいて、前記複数の入力装置のうちのいずれの入力装置を使用しているのかを識別し、
その識別結果に基づく画像表示を前記表示装置において行う
請求項6に記載の入力方法。 - 前記波長選択性透過膜において選択的に透過可能な所定の波長領域が互いに異なる複数の入力装置を用意し、
前記複数の入力装置における前記所定の波長領域の違いに対応した、前記表示光の反射光の波長領域の違いを検出し、
検出結果に基づいて、前記複数の入力装置のうちのいずれの入力装置を使用しているのかを識別し、
その識別結果に基づく画像表示を前記表示装置において行う
請求項6に記載の入力方法。 - 光を利用して情報を入力する入力装置の製造方法であって、
本体部を形成する工程と、
前記本体部の先端部に略球状のレンズ部を保持する工程と、
前記先端部と前記レンズ部との間に、装置の外部からの入射光を全反射可能な全反射膜からなる反射部材を配置する工程と、
前記レンズ部における前記反射部材とは反対側に、前記入射光のうちの所定の波長領域の光を選択的に透過可能な波長選択性透過膜を配置する工程と
を含む入力装置の製造方法。
