Abstract

在粘合带贴附装置中,具有:载物台(25),其将第一带部件的终端部(5E)和第二带部件的始端部(5S)重叠配置;超声波工具(26),其在与重叠的带部件的始端部(5S)或终端部(5E)抵接的抵接面设有多个突起部;超声波振动产生装置(27),其对超声波工具(26)施加带厚度方向的超声波振动(28);按压装置,其对超声波工具(26)作用朝向载物台(25)的按压力。由此,能够利用简单且低成本的结构,以在带输送中不会发挥故障的状态连接使用中的第一带部件的终端部(5E)、和新的从卷轴引出的第二带部件的始端部(5S)。

Description

粘合带贴附装置及带连接方法
技术领域
本发明涉及在以液晶面板或PDP(Plasma Display Panel:等离子体显示板)为代表的显示器面板等基板上贴附实装部件的固定用粘合带的粘合带贴附装置。另外,涉及在这样的粘合带贴附装置中,将贴有在长边方向上连续的粘合带的带部件的端部彼此连接而追加的带连接方法。
背景技术
作为在以液晶面板或PDP(Plasma Display Panel:等离子体显示板)为代表的显示器面板等基板上实装部件的方法,知道有在基板上将作为带部件的一例的ACF(各向异性导电薄膜)带中的粘合带的一例即ACF按压于基板后,剥离脱模带,在基板上贴附ACF层,在所述ACF层上例如临时压接TCP(Tape Carrier Package)、IC、薄型LSI封装件部件等部件后,施加热量和压力,进行正式压接,由此将部件安装于基板的方法。在这样的部件安装方法中,如上所述,为了在基板上贴附ACF,使用ACF贴附装置。
作为所述ACF贴附装置,知道有在供给卷绕为卷轴的ACF带时,仅将ACF层切断为规定的长度后,向在支承台上载置的基板上供给,利用压接装置按压ACF带,将切断为规定长度的ACF层贴附于基板,然后,从贴附了脱模带的ACF层剥离,回收脱模带,并且,进行接下来的ACF带的供给,重复如上所述的动作的ACF贴附装置。
可是,在这样的ACF贴附装置中,在使用中的卷绕为卷轴的ACF带完全地消失后而更换卷轴的情况下,需要沿着规定路径从一开始配设ACF带的麻烦且花费时间的作业。因此,要求连接使用中的ACF带的终端部和新更换的卷轴的ACF带的始端部。尤其,伴随近年来的显示器面板的大型化,一张基板所需的ACF带的长度增大化,因此,即使适用卷绕了长条的ACF带的卷轴,也需要在短时间内更换卷轴,作业性良好地连接成为了生产率的提高上重要的要因。
因此,知道有在卷绕为卷轴的ACF带的终端部设置终端标记,用传感器检测所述终端标记的情况下,在使用中的ACF带的终端部连接新的卷轴的ACF带的始端的方法。具体来说,知道有折叠使用中的ACF带的终端部,使其与新的卷轴的ACF带的始端部重合,加热压接的方法、及利用引导带连接两个带的方法(例如,参照专利文献1)。另外,还有知道有如图16A及图16B所示,使用其他粘接带121,连接使用中的ACF带101的终端部中的脱模带102、和新的卷轴的ACF带111的始端部中的脱模带112的方法、或将两面粘接带贴附于卷轴或保持了卷轴的盒,在连接时,经由两面粘接带连接带的终端部和始端部的方法。
另外,知道有将热熔敷容易且能够利用传感器容易地检测的连接带利用粘接带预先连接于ACF带的终端和始端的两端,利用传感器检测使用中的ACF带的终端的连接带的情况下,将使用中的ACF带的终端的连接带和新的卷轴的粘合带的始端的连接带通过热熔敷而连接两个带的方法(例如,参照专利文献2)。
还有,知道有在将ACF带的ACF层贴附于基板时,代替利用切割器切断ACF层利用压接头来加热加压并压接,而是将振子的振动面压接于ACF带的脱模带的状态下向振子施加超声波振动,利用基于超声波振动的摩擦热量使ACF带的ACF层熔融,并贴附于基板的方法(例如,参照专利文献3)。
另外,还知道有在基板上经由各向异性导电膜实装部件时,从部件上施加其厚度方向的超声波振动,由此在基板实装部件的方法(例如,参照专利文献4)。
另外,知道有在金属板等被接合部件接合电线时,利用接合块按压电线的同时,向接合块施加电线的轴向的超声波振动,且在所述接合块的与电线的接触面设置有用于止滑的多个凸部的结构(例如,参照专利文献5)。

可是,近年来,接合连接部位的宽度尺寸窄的部件的情况居多,在那样的情况下,例如,采用使用的ACF带的宽度窄到约1~2mm左右的ACF带。因此,欲经由ACF带的ACF层或粘接带的粘接材料层,对带彼此加压而具有需要的连接强度地粘接的情况下,那些粘合材料或粘合材料容易露出,在带输送时,存在容易发生故障的问题。
另外,在使用其他部件的粘接带等的连接方法中,需要配设粘接带的供给机构,导致装置结构的复杂化,并且,独立于ACF带,需要粘接带的管理,因此,还导致负担增加的问题。另外,使用在卷轴等贴附的粘接带或两面粘接带等来连接的方法中,不能自动连接,且在管理卷轴等期间,粘接面劣化,导致难以确保需要的连接强度。
另外,如专利文献2所示,在使用连接带热熔敷连接带彼此来连接的方法中,需要作为ACF带,使用在其两端粘接了连接带的特殊的ACF带,因此,成本变高,并且导致没有通用性的问题。
还有,在专利文献3中,公开有在将ACF带的ACF层贴附于基板时,适用超声波振动的结构,另外,在专利文献4中,公开有将部件经由ACF层安装于基板时,沿部件的厚度方向施加超声波振动而接合的结构,在专利文献5中,公开有在金属板等被接合部件接合电线时,向设置有凸部的接合块施加超声波振动而接合的结构。然而,这些仅公开了适用超声波振动来接合ACF层和其他部件、或其他部件彼此的情况。
发明内容
从而,本发明的目的在于解决上述问题,并提供利用简单且低成本的结构,具有必要的连接强度且在带输送中不会发生故障的状态下,连接使用中的带的终端部、和新的从卷轴引出的带的始端部的粘合带贴附装置及带连接方法。
为了实现上述目的,本发明如下所述地构成。
根据本发明的第一方式可知,提供一种粘合带贴附装置,其中,具有:
带供给装置,其能够更换地装配有卷轴,并从所装配的卷轴供给带部件,所述卷轴卷绕有在脱模带的单面贴有粘合带的带部件;
压接装置,其将从带供给装置供给的带部件按压于基板,并将从脱模带剥离的粘合带贴附于基板;
带连接装置,其连接使用中的第一带部件的终端部和从卷轴引出的追加的第二带部件的始端部,
带连接装置具有:
载物台,其将第一带部件的终端部和第二带部件的始端部重叠配置;
超声波工具,其具有与重叠的带部件的始端部或终端部抵接的抵接面;
超声波振动产生装置,其对超声波工具施加带厚度方向的超声波振动;
按压装置,其将超声波工具朝向载物台按压。
根据本发明的第二方式可知,提供第一方式中记载的粘合带贴附装置,其中,在超声波工具的抵接面形成有多个突起部,且突起部的高度尺寸h相对于脱模带的厚度尺寸t为h>t。
根据本发明的第三方式可知,提供第二方式中记载的粘合带贴附装置,其中,超声波工具的突起部具有顶部角度为60~120°的山形剖面形状。
根据本发明的第四方式可知,提供第二方式中记载的粘合带贴附装置,其中,还具有:第一保持部,其以拉伸状态保持第一带部件的终端部;第二保持部,其以拉伸状态保持第二带部件的始端部,在利用第一保持部保持第一带部件的终端部且利用第二保持部保持第二带部件的始端部的状态下,使第一带部件的终端部和第二带部件的始端部重叠配置在载物台上。
根据本发明的第五方式可知,提供第四方式中记载的粘合带贴附装置,其中,还具有:
多个卷轴支承板,该多个卷轴支承板将卷绕有带部件的卷轴旋转自如地保持并且具有第二保持部;
卷轴定位装置,其将多个卷轴支承板并排配置而能够装卸地保持,并且将所保持的一个卷轴支承板定位于与带连接装置对置的位置。
根据本发明的第六方式可知,提供第四方式中记载的粘合带贴附装置,其中,还具有执行如下处理的控制装置,即:
超声波熔敷处理,在将利用第一保持部保持的第一带部件的终端部和利用第二保持部保持的第二带部件的始端部重叠配置在载物台上的状态下,控制按压装置,使超声波工具的抵接面对重叠配置的带部件进行按压,同时控制超声波振动产生装置,对超声波工具施加带厚度方向的超声波振动,从而通过超声波熔敷来连接第一带部件的终端部和第二带部件的始端部;
端缘熔敷处理,在执行超声波熔敷处理后,解除基于第一保持部的第一带部件的终端部的保持,并移动带部件至少使第一带部件的终端部的端缘部位于超声波工具和载物台之间,再次控制按压装置,利用超声波工具的抵接面按压第一带部件的终端部的端缘部,同时控制超声波振动产生装置,对超声波工具施加带厚度方向的超声波振动,从而通过超声波熔敷将第一带部件的终端部的端缘部连接于第二带部件的始端部。
根据本发明的第七方式可知,提供一种带连接方法,该方法是在粘合带贴附装置中,在使用中的第一带部件的终端部连接所追加的第二带的始端部的方法,在该粘合带贴附装置中,从卷轴供给带部件,将所供给的带部件按压于基板,并将从脱模带剥离的粘合带贴附于基板,该卷轴卷绕有在脱模带的单面贴有粘合带的带部件,其中,
将第一带部件的终端部和第二带部件的始端部相互重叠配置,
使超声波工具的抵接面对端部之间的重叠的区域进行按压,同时对超声波工具施加带厚度方向的超声波振动,而将第一带部件的终端部和第二带部件的始端部超声波熔敷。
根据本发明的第八方式可知,提供第七方式所述的带连接方法,其中,在所述抵接面形成有多个突起,且具有大于脱模带的厚度的高度尺寸的多个突起部使用在抵接面形成的超声波工具,进行超声波熔敷。
根据本发明的第九方式可知,提供第七方式所述的带连接方法,其中,在重叠配置带部件时,在以拉伸状态保持第一带部件的终端部且以拉伸状态保持第二带部件的始端部的状态下,将第一带部件的终端部和第二带部件的始端部重叠配置在载物台上。
根据本发明的第十方式可知,提供第九方式所述的带连接方法,其中,在将第一带部件的终端部和第二带部件的始端部超声波熔敷后,解除第一带部件的终端部的保持,
以至少使第一带部件的终端部的端缘部位于超声波工具的抵接面和载物台之间的方式使带部件移动,
然后,利用超声波工具的抵接面按压第一带部件的终端部的端缘部和第二带部件的始端部,对超声波工具施加带厚度方向的超声波振动,而将第一带部件的终端部的端缘部超声波熔敷于第二带部件的始端部。
根据本发明的第十一方式可知,提供第九方式所述的带连接方法,其中,在检测到第一带部件的终端部的情况下保持所述终端部,并且将卷绕有第二带部件的卷轴定位于与载物台对置的位置,从而在载物台上重叠配置第一带部件的终端部和第二带部件的始端部。
根据本发明的粘合带贴附装置及带连接方法可知,在连接第一带部件的终端部和第二带部件的始端部时,将两个带部件的终端部和始端部重叠配置在载物台上的状态下,利用超声波工具的抵接面来按压的同时,施加带厚度方向的超声波振动,由此能够将超声波振动能量向两个带部件的重叠部分集中赋予而熔融接合。从而,在带部件由难以进行加热熔敷的带原材料构成的情况下或带宽度为窄幅之类的情况下,也能够以具有必要的连接强度的状态可靠地连接,不需要在带部件的始端部或终端部设置其他连接带,或在连接中使用其他粘接带。从而,能够利用低成本且简单的结构,以在带输送中不会发生故障的状态连接。

具体实施方式
在继续本发明的叙述之前,在附图中,关于相同部件标注相同的参照符号。
以下,参照图1~图15、及图17,关于在液晶显示面板的玻璃基板等基板上贴附具有各向异性导电薄膜(ACF)等粘合材料层(ACF层)的粘合带的粘合带贴附装置中适用的实施方式,说明本发明。
(第一实施方式)
首先,参照图1、图2、图3、图4A、图4B及图4C,说明作为本发明的第一实施方式的粘合带贴附装置的一例的ACF贴附装置。
在图1、图2中,本实施方式的ACF贴附装置1包括:支承基板2对其进行移动及定位的定位装置3;从下方支承基板2的侧端部的下支承台4;从上方按压要贴附的ACF带5而将其贴附于基板2的压接装置6;供给ACF带5的带供给装置7;从在基板2贴附的ACF带5的ACF层剥离所述脱模带的剥离装置8;回收被剥离的ACF带5的脱模带的带回收装置9。10是将送入ACF贴附装置1的送入位置的基板2移载在定位装置3的移载装置。在图1中,1A是进行ACF贴附装置1的整体的动作控制的控制装置。
压接装置6如图2所示,具有:在下表面具有与配置于下方的下支承台4对置的压接面11a,并进行ACF带5的贴附动作的压接头11;升降驱动该压接头11的工作缸装置等的头升降装置12。在压接头11内置有未图示的加热机构,能够将压接头11的压接面11a加热为规定温度。
带供给装置7具有:卷绕有ACF带5的卷轴13;引导从卷轴13供给的ACF带5的多个引导滚筒14a、14b、14c;在隔开间隔且并排配置的一对引导滚筒14a、14b之间,对这些滚筒在远近方向上移动自如且向远离的方向移动施力的张紧辊15;对在ACF带5中的脱模带的单面一连串设置的ACF层,按与基板2中的ACF层贴附区域的大小对应的长度划入刻痕的切割器16;连接ACF带5的终端部和新装配的从卷轴13引出的ACF带5的始端部的带连接装置17。
剥离装置8包括:能够在下支承台4和压接头11的压接面11a之间,沿其长边方向往返移动的移动体18;伴随移动体18的移动,沿着在基板2压接的ACF带5的上表面转动的同时移动的带按压滚筒19a;配置于按压滚筒19a的斜上方,使ACF带5的脱模带卷绕在外周的一部分,并伴随移动体18的移动而剥离脱模带的带剥离滚筒19b;设置于移动体18,且在需要时把持固定被剥离的脱模带的卡盘20。
带回收装置9包括:将被剥离的脱模带朝向上方引导的引导滚筒21;把持固定脱模带的卡盘22;吸引回收脱模带的回收单元23。
在具有这样的结构的ACF贴附装置1的带供给装置7中,在带连接装置17的上部配置有切割器16,并且在其上部配置有检测使用中的ACF带5的终端部的终端检测传感器24。另外,将ACF带5夹在中间地与切割器16和带连接装置17对置配设有载物台25,其构成为,利用切割器16切断ACF带5的ACF层或ACF带5的脱模带时及利用带连接装置17连接带时,从背面侧支承ACF带5。
本实施方式的带连接装置17如图3、图4A~图4C所示,以使用中的第一ACF带5a的终端部5E和新供给的从卷轴13引出的第二ACF带5b的始端部5S重叠在载物台25上的状态配置。还有,使超声波工具26的前端面(抵接面)26a与这些ACF带5的始端部5S或终端部5E抵接,利用超声波振动产生装置27向该超声波工具26施加带厚度方向的超声波振动28,同时利用按压装置(未图示)对超声波振动产生装置27如图示的箭头所示,使按压力29朝向载物台25发挥作用。
如图4B、4C所示,在超声波工具26中,在其前端面26a突出设置有多个突起部30。突起部30的高度尺寸h例如相对于ACF带5的厚度尺寸,更具体来说,相对于脱模带的厚度尺寸t设定为h>t,适合的是h>2t。另外,突起部30的形状适合顶部中的最尖锐的角度为60°~120°的山形剖面形状的形状。
其次,说明利用以上的结构的ACF贴附装置1,在基板2的侧缘部贴附ACF带5的工序。从图1、图2所示的状态,利用定位装置3将基板2的侧缘部定位于下支承台4上的状态下,利用头升降装置12使压接头11下降动作,利用压接头11的下表面的压接面11a按压ACF带5,将ACF带5压接于基板2。其次,关闭带回收装置9的卡盘22,把持固定ACF带5的脱模带,在打开了剥离装置8的卡盘20的状态下,使移动体18向带供给装置7侧移动,由此,从在基板2贴附的ACF带5的ACF层剥离所述脱模带。
接着,关闭剥离装置8的卡盘20而保持ACF带5,并且打开带回收装置9的卡盘22,形成为脱模带自如地吸引回收于回收单元23的状态,使剥离装置8的移动体18移动规定的带供给量。由此,设置有ACF层的ACF带5被向压接头11的压接面11a、和在下支承台4上定位的基板2的要贴附基板2的ACF带5的区域之间供给。张紧辊15根据该带供给量而上升,其次使卷轴13旋转,将在卷轴13卷绕的ACF带5供给至张紧辊15位于原点位置。
反复进行以上的ACF带5的贴附动作,在卷轴13卷绕的ACF带5成为终端的情况下,利用终端检测传感器24来检测。若检测到终端,则更换卷轴13,将新的卷轴13设置于带供给装置7,利用带连接装置17连接使用中的ACF带5的终端部5E和新的卷轴13的ACF带5的始端部5S,由此能够连续供给ACF带5。
在基于该带连接装置17的连接时,利用带供给装置7连接使用中的ACF带(第一带部件)5a的终端部5E和新配置的从卷轴13引出的ACF带(第二带部件)5b的始端部5S时,如图3所示,将两个带的终端部5E和始端部5S重叠于载物台25上配置的状态下,使用在图4A~图4C所示的前端面26a设置有多个突起部30的超声波工具26,使带厚度方向的按压力29发挥作用,同时施加带厚度方向的超声波振动28,由此在多个突起部30沿带厚度方向咬入两个带的状态下,将超声波振动能量向突起部30的周围集中赋予。其结果,如图12A及图12B所示,通过超声波熔融来接合ACF带5a的终端部5E和ACF带5b的始端部5S。这样适用基于超声波熔融的接合法,而不是热熔融,因此,即使利用聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯(PET)或拉伸聚丙烯(PP)或聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)等难以进行加热熔敷的带原材料构成ACF带5的脱模带,另外即使带宽度为窄幅,也能够在具有需要的连接强度的状态下可靠地连接。
在此,通过将超声波工具26的突起部30的高度尺寸h相对于ACF带5的厚度尺寸(还有,在连接ACF带5的脱模带彼此的情况下,所述脱模带的厚度尺寸)t设为h>t,适合的是h>2t,能够向各自的带的重合界面有效地赋予基于超声波振动的能量,能够更可靠地得到上述作用效果。其结果,能够具有需要的连接强度地稳定地连接ACF带5的终端部5E和始端部5S。另外,超声波工具26的突起部30形成为顶部中的最尖锐的角度设为60~120°的山形剖面形状,由此不会发生顶部角度过小而产生孔隙,或顶部角度过大而咬入不足的情况,能够稳定地确保需要的连接强度。
根据本实施方式可知,使用在前端面设置突起部30的超声波工具26施加带厚度方向的超声波振动而连接,由此不需要在ACF带5的始端部5S或终端部5E设置其他连接带,或在连接时使用其他粘接带,能够以需要的强度连接,能够通过低成本且简单的结构,以在带输送时不会发生故障的状态连接。
若示出具体例则如下,ACF带5是在包括其宽度尺寸为1~3mm,厚度范围为20~100μm(通用的是50~100μm)的PET薄膜的脱模带,作为ACF层,涂敷厚度为10~30μm的ACF而构成的,连接的终端部5E和始端部5S被除去了ACF。在超声波工具26中,其前端部的直径为3mm,在其前端面以间距P为0.8mm且矩阵状配设有高度尺寸h为0.3mm,顶部的角度θ为90°的突起部29。超声波振动产生装置27以频率60kHz、输出60W、10~15N的按压力28按压0.5秒来进行超声波连接。由此,维持约2N以上的需要的连接强度,并且可靠且稳定地得到在带输送时不会发生故障的适当的连接状态。
(第二实施方式)
其次,参照图5~图13,说明本发明的第二实施方式的粘合带贴附装置。还有,关于与上述第实施方式相同的结构要件,标注相同的参照符号,省略说明,主要说明差异点。
本实施方式主要在带供给装置7和带回收装置9的结构上与第一实施方式不同,能够自动地连接第一ACF带5a的终端部5E和第二ACF带5b的始端部5S,从而连续地供给ACF带5。
在图5中,在带供给装置7配设有连接第一ACF带5a的终端部5E和第二ACF带5b的始端部5S的带连接装置31和依次供给卷轴13的卷轴供给装置32,在带回收装置9配设有卷绕从贴附的ACF层剥离的ACF带5的脱模带,将ACF带5输送规定量的卷绕装置33。还有,卷绕装置33形成为图1、图2所示的带回收装置9的结构也可。
带连接装置31如图6所示,具有:第一保持部34;第一切断部35;第二保持部6;第二切断部37;超声波连接装置38。超声波连接装置38配置于第一保持部34和第二切断部37之间,包括:载物台25;安装有超声波工具26的超声波振动产生装置27;将超声波振动产生装置27朝向载物台25移动,并使规定的按压力发挥作用的按压装置39。在图6中,49是将ACF带5向压接装置6引导的引导滚筒。
第一保持部34将成为使用结束期间时的ACF带5的终端夹持而保持,具有能够进行接近离开动作的一对保持部件34a、34b。第一切断部35配置于保持部件34a的上部,在夹持了ACF带5的状态下,在其上部位置且在其与保持部件34b之间切断ACF带5。
第二保持部36配置于将卷绕了ACF带5的卷轴13旋转自如地保持的卷轴支承板40的下部,在保持基底41和装配于该保持基底41的工作缸装置42之间将从卷轴13引出的ACF带5的始端夹持。第二切断部37包括设置于按压装置39的刃部37a、支承部37b,并利用超声波连接装置38连接使用中的ACF带5的终端部5E和新的从卷轴13引出的ACF带5的始端部5S的同时或连接后,利用所述连接部切断第二保持部36侧。
卷轴支承板40如图7所示,整体形状为大致T字状,在其下部配设有第二保持部36,其具有:在上部将卷轴13旋转自如地支承的轴支承部43;在卷轴13的外周压接、离开而将旋转卡止、卡止解除的卡止部44;从卷轴13向第二保持部36引导ACF带5的引导滚筒45。从卷轴13引出且其前端被第二保持部36保持的ACF带5的始端部5S利用卡止部44来保持拉伸状态。
如图5、图6所示,在卷轴供给装置32具有两个能够并排多个(在图示例中为5个)卷轴支承板40而装卸自如地保持的可动保持装置46,在从一方的可动保持装置46保持的卷轴13供给ACF带5的期间卸载另一方的可动保持装置46,进行卷轴支承板40的更换作业。各可动保持装置46构成为能够利用移动装置47来进行移动及定位,能够将保持的任意的卷轴支承板40定位于与带连接装置31对置的位置。移动装置47构成为将可动保持装置46装卸自如地装配于利用使用了滚珠丝杠47a的输送丝杠机构来移动的移动体47b。另外,如图6所示,设置有固定在与带连接装置31对置的位置定位的卷轴支承板40的固定装置48。还有,在本实施方式中,利用可动保持装置46、移动装置47及固定装置48来构成卷轴定位装置。
其次,主要参照图5及图8~图10,说明通过这样的结构,检测了从使用中的卷轴13供给的第一ACF带5a的终端部5E时,更换为新的卷轴13,与从所述卷轴13引出的第二ACF带5b的始端部5S连接的动作工序即超声波熔敷处理。
首先,如图8的工序(a)所示,从使用中的卷轴13供给第一ACF带5a,将所述ACF层依次贴附于基板的状态下,检测所述第一ACF带5a的终端。若检测到终端,则如图8的工序(b)所示,利用第一保持部34的保持部件34a、34b保持终端部5E,如图8的工序(c)所示,利用第一切断部35在其上部位置切断。
其次,动作可动保持装置46,如图8的工序(d)及图9的工序(e)所示,使支承了使用的卷轴13的卷轴支承板40从带连接装置31退避,将接下来的卷轴支承板40定位于与带连接装置31对置的位置而固定,以使新的从卷轴13引出的第二ACF带5b的始端部5S与第一ACF带5a的终端部5E重叠地利用第二保持部36保持的状态进行配置。这样,利用第一保持部34及第二保持部36保持了要连接的两个带的终端部和始端部的状态下重叠配置,由此能够在不发生位置偏移的情况下进行准确的定位。另外,通过这样使可动保持装置46动作,能够从接下来的新的卷轴13供给第二ACF带5b的结构,能够自动进行带连接。
其次,如图9的工序(f)、图9的工序(g)、及图11所示,利用载物台25从背面侧支承了相互重叠地定位的第二ACF带5b的始端部5S和第一ACF带5a的终端部5E的状态下,利用超声波连接装置38来进行超声波连接。在超声波连接装置38中,使用在前端面设置有多个突起部30的超声波工具26,施加带厚度方向的超声波振动28,因此,如图12A及图13B所示,多个突起部30沿带厚度方向咬入两个带的状态下,向突起部30的周围集中赋予超声波振动能量,进行熔融接合。因此,即使ACF带5的脱模带由难以进行加热熔敷的带原材料构成,另外,即使带宽度为窄幅,也能够以具有必要的连接强度的状态可靠地连接。
其次,如图9的工序(h)、图10的工序(i)所示,利用第二切断部37,从第二ACF带5b的始端部5S中的连接部切断第二保持部36侧的部分。另外,如图10的工序(j)、工序(k)所示,解除基于第一保持部34中的保持部件34a、34b的第一ACF带5a的终端部5E的保持,使超声波连接装置38及载物台25退避动作。这样,自动连接第一ACF带5a和第二ACF带5b,向压接装置6连续地供给。还有,在进行了以上的连接动作时,使该带连接部50不会停留在压接部位,而是完全地通过压接部位地设定控制带输送量。
还有,从图10的工序(k)的状态开始,在连接了第一ACF带5a和第二ACF带5b的状态下,直接将ACF带5向压接装置6供给也可,但由第一保持部34保持的第一ACF带5a的端缘部成为胡须状突出部(或缘状突出部)50a从所述带连接部50突出,因此,可能在后续工序中的ACF带5的输送动作中成为障碍,或可能发生故障。
因此,适合附加图13所示的端缘处理工序。在图13中,从图10的工序(k)开始,如图13的工序(l)所示,使第一ACF带5a的终端部5E的胡须状突出部50a位于超声波连接装置38和载物台25之间地使ACF带5移动,其次,如图13的工序(m)所示,再次将超声波连接装置38压接于第二ACF带5b,利用超声波连接装置38施加带厚度方向的超声波振动,进行将第一ACF带5a的终端部5E的胡须状突出部50a熔敷于第二ACF带5b的端缘熔敷工序,然后,如图13的工序(n)所示,使超声波连接装置38及载物台25退避动作,将被连接的第一ACF带5a和第二ACF带5b向压接装置6连续供给。
通过这样将第一ACF带5a的终端部5E的胡须状突出部50a熔敷于第二ACF带5b,能够消除在接合后的ACF带5的输送动作中胡须状突出部50a成为障碍或发生故障的可能性。还有,对于第二ACF带5b的始端部5S也同样进行端缘处理也可,但始端部5S的连接后的切断部位可以设定于带连接部50的附近,因此,端缘部的长度短,且成为ACF带5的不与主要构成输送路径的滚筒等接触的外侧面,故未必一定进行端缘处理也可。
在以上的实施方式的说明中,说明了要相互连接的、第一ACF带5a的终端部5E和第二ACF带5b的始端部5S均被除去ACF带5的ACF层,仅为脱模带的例子,但在本发明中,使用在前端面设置有多个突起部30的超声波工具26,施加带厚度方向的超声波振动28,连接两个带,因此,如图14所示,使用中的第一ACF带5a的终端部5E具有ACF层的状态下,也能够以具有必要的连接强度的状态可靠地连接。在这种情况下,卷绕在卷轴13的ACF带5的终端部5E不需要特别的处理,或在终端部不需要用于除去ACF层的舍弃压接工序等,因此,能够实现ACF带5的成本降低或作业工序的简略化。另外,在终端部具有终端标记带的粘合带的情况下,也可以同样连接。
另外,在超声波工具26的前端面附着ACF带5的熔融物,超声波振动能量的传递效率逐渐降低的情况下,如图15所示,例如,也可以介装80~100μm厚度的聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)制的保护带51。
另外,在以上的实施方式的说明中,作为粘合带,示出了将ACF(各向异性导电薄膜)层设置于脱模带的单面的ACF带的例子,但本发明不限于使用了ACF带的部件安装,将非导电性铂贴附于基板而实装部件的情况下,也可以同样适用。另外,在压接头和粘合带之间或压接头和部件之间介装保护带而压接,由此防止了粘合材料附着于压接头的情况的粘合带贴附装置或压接装置中,在所述保护带的连接中也可以适用本发明。
另外,代替使用在前端面设置有多个突起部30的超声波工具26的情况,如图17所示,使用前端面不具有形成为平坦的面的突起部的超声波工具56,施加带厚度方向的超声波振动28来连接两个带也可。
还有,通过适当地组合上述各种实施方式中任意的实施方式,能够起到各自具有的效果。
根据本发明的粘合带贴附装置及带连接方法可知,在将相互连接的两个带的终端部和始端部重叠配置在载物台上的状态下,利用超声波工具沿带厚度方向施加超声波振动,由此利用超声波振动能量熔融接合两个带,因此,即使带由难以进行加热熔敷的带原材料构成,另外,即使带宽度为窄幅,也能够以具有必要的连接强度的状态可靠地连接。从而,能够在基板贴附粘合带,适当地利用于实装各种部件的部件实装装置。
在本发明中,参照附图的同时,与优选的实施方式关联地进行了充分的记载,但对该技术熟练的普通人来说,各种变形或修正是显而易见的。那样的变形或修正只要不从基于附加的权利范围的本发明的范围脱离就应理解为包括在其中。

Claims (11)

1.一种粘合带贴附装置,其中,具有:
带供给装置,其能够更换地装配有卷轴,并从所装配的卷轴供给带部件,所述卷轴卷绕有在脱模带的单面贴有粘合带的带部件;
压接装置,其将从带供给装置供给的带部件按压于基板,并将从脱模带剥离的粘合带贴附于基板;
带连接装置,其连接使用中的第一带部件的终端部和从卷轴引出的追加的第二带部件的始端部,
带连接装置具有:
载物台,其将第一带部件的终端部和第二带部件的始端部重叠配置;
超声波工具,其具有与重叠的带部件的始端部或终端部抵接的抵接面;
超声波振动产生装置,其对超声波工具施加带厚度方向的超声波振动;
按压装置,其将超声波工具朝向载物台按压。
2.根据权利要求1所述的粘合带贴附装置,其中,
在超声波工具的抵接面形成有多个突起部,且突起部的高度尺寸h相对于脱模带的厚度尺寸t为h>t。
3.根据权利要求2所述的粘合带贴附装置,其中,
超声波工具的突起部具有顶部角度为60~120°的山形剖面形状。
4.根据权利要求2所述的粘合带贴附装置,其中,
还具有:第一保持部,其以拉伸状态保持第一带部件的终端部;第二保持部,其以拉伸状态保持第二带部件的始端部,
在利用第一保持部保持第一带部件的终端部且利用第二保持部保持第二带部件的始端部的状态下,使第一带部件的终端部和第二带部件的始端部重叠配置在载物台上。
5.根据权利要求4所述的粘合带贴附装置,其中,还具有:
多个卷轴支承板,该多个卷轴支承板将卷绕有带部件的卷轴旋转自如地保持并且具有第二保持部;
卷轴定位装置,其将多个卷轴支承板并排配置而能够装卸地保持,并且将所保持的一个卷轴支承板定位于与带连接装置对置的位置。
6.根据权利要求4所述的粘合带贴附装置,其中,
还具有执行如下处理的控制装置:
超声波熔敷处理,在将利用第一保持部保持的第一带部件的终端部和利用第二保持部保持的第二带部件的始端部重叠配置在载物台上的状态下,控制按压装置,使超声波工具的抵接面对重叠配置的带部件进行按压,同时控制超声波振动产生装置,对超声波工具施加带厚度方向的超声波振动,从而通过超声波熔敷来连接第一带部件的终端部和第二带部件的始端部;
端缘熔敷处理,在执行超声波熔敷处理后,解除基于第一保持部的第一带部件的终端部的保持,并移动带部件至少使第一带部件的终端部的端缘部位于超声波工具和载物台之间,再次控制按压装置,利用超声波工具的抵接面按压第一带部件的终端部的端缘部,同时控制超声波振动产生装置,对超声波工具施加带厚度方向的超声波振动,从而通过超声波熔敷将第一带部件的终端部的端缘部连接于第二带部件的始端部。
7.一种带连接方法,该方法是在粘合带贴附装置中,在使用中的第一带部件的终端部连接追加的第二带的始端部的方法,在该粘合带贴附装置中,从卷轴供给带部件,将所供给的带部件按压于基板,并将从脱模带剥离的粘合带贴附于基板,该卷轴卷绕有在脱模带的单面贴有粘合带的带部件,其中,
将第一带部件的终端部和第二带部件的始端部相互重叠配置,
使超声波工具的抵接面对端部彼此的重叠区域进行按压,同时对超声波工具施加带厚度方向的超声波振动,而将第一带部件的终端部和第二带部件的始端部超声波熔敷。
8.根据权利要求7所述的带连接方法,其中,
在所述抵接面形成有多个突起,且具有大于脱模带的厚度的高度尺寸的多个突起部使用在抵接面形成的超声波工具,进行超声波熔敷。
9.根据权利要求7所述的带连接方法,其中,
在重叠配置带部件时,在以拉伸状态保持第一带部件的终端部且以拉伸状态保持第二带部件的始端部的状态下,将第一带部件的终端部和第二带部件的始端部重叠配置在载物台上。
10.根据权利要求9所述的带连接方法,其中,
在将第一带部件的终端部和第二带部件的始端部超声波熔敷后,解除第一带部件的终端部的保持,
以至少使第一带部件的终端部的端缘部位于超声波工具的抵接面和载物台之间的方式使带部件移动,
然后,利用超声波工具的抵接面按压第一带部件的终端部的端缘部和第二带部件的始端部,同时对超声波工具施加带厚度方向的超声波振动,而将第一带部件的终端部的端缘部超声波熔敷于第二带部件的始端部。
11.根据权利要求9所述的带连接方法,其中,
在检测到第一带部件的终端部的情况下保持所述终端部,并且将卷绕有第二带部件的卷轴定位于与载物台对置的位置,从而在载物台上重叠配置第一带部件的终端部和第二带部件的始端部。
