Watertight watchpiece winder The object of the present invention is a watertight watchpiece winder, comprising a crown, the central part of which has a section engaged in the tube and the peripheral part of which surrounds the latter on the outside, with interposition of a package, the tube having an annular projection arranged coaxially with the latter and onto which the crown is screwed in the rest position.
This winder is characterized by a second sealing package arranged between this projection and the peripheral part of the crown at the outer end of the screw thread, so as to seal off the annular space between the body of the tube and the protrusion, space in which the first package and the thread are located.
The first aforementioned package is thus located in a housing, itself sealed, limited by the body of the tube, the projection and the crown, at rest. This results in complete sealing of the winder which will be particularly useful in self-winding watches, where the crown only leaves its rest position during hand-winding or time setting, that is, that is to say rarely.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the present invention.
Figs. 1 and 3 are axial sections, respectively of the first and of the second embodiment; fig. 2 shows a detail of the first of these.
In fig. 1 and 2, 1 represents the back of a watch case mounted on a caseband-bezel 2 on which is also fixed the glass 3. In the middle-bezel is driven the tube 4 which has an annular projection 5 arranged at a distance of the latter and coaxially. 6 is the crown mounted by means of a sealed package 7 on the body of the tube.
To this crown is screwed the outer section 8 of the winding stem, the inner section of which is shown at 9; these two sections are connected to each other as shown in fig. 2, the head 10 of the inner section being engaged in a rectangular groove 11 of the outer section and this with a slight axial play 12.
In the non-use or rest position, the crown 6 is partially housed in the space between the body of the tube and the projection thereof; it is screwed into an internal thread 13 of this projection; at the outer end of this screw thread is a second sealing package 15. To wind or set the time to the watch, the crown 6 is unscrewed, which does not produce any axial displacement of the inner section. 9 of the winding stem thanks to the aforementioned set 12.
The embodiment of FIG. 3 differs from the previous one only in that the outer section 8 of the winding stem instead of being screwed into the crown 6 is engaged in the latter by means of an elastic coupling; the latter of a known type comprises two elastic branches 8a, 8b, which it is raining to bring together to engage them in the nut 14 screwed into the crown and having two projections penetrating into the rectangular grooves of the branches.
In these two embodiments, sealing is provided by two packages; furthermore, the interior package 7, by the fact that most of the time the crown is screwed onto the tube, is protected against the introduction of foreign bodies, which wear out the package and the tube.
