Show the object. of the present invention is a watch of the waterproof type, having a particular winding mechanism which, although applicable to any waterproof watch, completes a part in a very happy way. which the movement is elastically suspended in the caseband and requires for this purpose that the winding crown normally has no rigid link with the winding stem which, on its side integral with the movement, must not have any point of contact constant with any element of the box.
According to the present invention, there is in fact provided a winding crown which is screwed onto an element of the middle part, into which it penetrates and slides through a tube, the free end of which facing the movement is provided with a screw cap having an orifice providing passage with play to the winding stem, and teeth forming an inner crown, and capable of being brought into engagement with opposing teeth of a head screwed to the free end of the stem, whose positions of Winding and time-setting are fixed by a winding mechanism called a v-pull tab, a spring being interposed between the crown and the winding stem,
strong enough to ensure an axial connection of these members making it possible to actuate the rocker of said mechanism to go from the time-setting position to that of winding.
The appended drawing represents an embodiment of the object of the invention, given by way of simple example. The only figure in this drawing represents said embodiment in axial section led by the stem and the winding crown and perpendicular to the plane of the movement, the latter being assumed to be resiliently suspended in the caseband-bezel.
The back 2 is screwed into the middle-bezel 1 which, by means of a sealing washer 3, ensures the watertight closure of the latter while, on the other hand, between a ring 4 clamping the glass against the bezel middle and an interposed sealing washer 5, said middle part retains the lens 6.
The movement occupies the profiled volume at 7, it is surrounded by an outer circle 8 presenting a circular groove. In 9 is the dial.
The elastic suspension of the movement 7 in the caseband 1 is assumed here by a rubber ring of quadran gular section, open at the location of the passage of the winding stem and whose profile is shown by the outline 10 in phantom lines. We see that it is trapped, on the one hand in the groove of the circle 8, on the other hand between the caseband 1, the edge of the back 2 and the circle 4.
From the movement emerges the winding stem 11, connected in the usual way to a latch actuating a rocker and to the generally known elements of the winding pull mechanism.
The winding stem axially penetrates a tube 12, which is made in one piece with the winding crown 13.
This tube is guided by a barrel 14, screwed into the caseband-bezel and exhibiting a left-hand thread 15 on the outside, onto which the crown is normally screwed. Sealing washers, devoid of reference signs so as not to overload the sin, ensure an absolutely watertight closure with a screw-down crown.
The free end of the tube 12 oriented in the direction of movement 7 is provided with a stopper 16 having a central hole providing passage for the winding stem 11 with clearance and ending, on the outside, in a toothed crown 17.
In the free interior space of the crown 13, and still with play, the re-mount rod ends with a screwed head 18, having a toothed crown 19 facing the toothed crown 17, a short distance from the latter.
The winding stem 11 is finally surrounded by a coil spring 20 clamped between the end of said stem adjacent to the movement and the stopper 16 and through it the crown. Thus, the crown has the tendency to be driven outwardly away from the stem axially.
In the normal running position shown, with the screw-down crown, it can be seen that the winding stem enjoys sufficient freedom of movement to allow the elastic movement of the movement in its case and that, on the other hand, the compression of the spring 20 maintains the winding stem in the so-called winding position.
When the crown 13 is unscrewed (therefore in the winding direction since the pitch is to the left), the latter gradually moves away from the center of the part, axially driving the stopper 16 and its toothed crown with it. 17 which, at a given moment, enters the toothed crown 19 of the winding stem, with which it mates.
It can be seen, from the dimensions of the drawing, that this coupling occurs before the unscrewing is complete, the axial distance between the interpenetrating teeth being shorter than the height of the thread 15. Thus, at no time, the crown 13 is freely suspended due to the piece. While it is unscrewed, it mates with the rod 11 then, once unscrewed and by the play of the spring 20, it remains coupled to it and forms with it a whole sufficiently rigid to make it possible to extract and reinforce cer winding stem at will for the purpose of winding and setting the time, using the jumper effect of the pull-tab mechanism for this. It suffices, as has been said previously, for the spring 20 to be dimensioned accordingly.
It can be seen from the foregoing that by unscrewing the winding crown, either with a view to winding or setting the time, a short winding is carried out if necessary at the end of the period. unscrewing operation. However, it could be that, the spring being fully cocked, this operation is dangerous for the latter.
When such an accident is to be feared, which depends on the height of the thread, it is advisable to provide a sliding or safety flange spring, which will preferably be conformed in the known manner in Roskopf watches or in a similar manner, so that by charging the barrel spring, the user clearly perceives the instant when, the spring being charged, it begins to slide, jumping from notch to notch of the inner wall of the barrel.
To put everything back in the position of use, it suffices to press lightly on the crown, against the action of spring 20 and to screw it back (on the left), and the assembly will again appear in the form drawn. , constituting a perfectly sealed floating movement part. This provision applies without further to self-winding watches.
