vereinigt.
Process for the preparation of a monoazo carbate of the pyrazolone series. It has been found that a valuable monoazo dye is obtained if 1- (4'-chloro) -phenyl-3-metbyl-5-pyrazolone with a diazo compound of the amine of the formula e1

united. The new dye forms a yellow powder, which can be seen in dilute sodium carbonate solution with yellow,
dissolves in concentrated pure sulfuric acid with a greenish yellow color and dyes wool from acetic acid bath in yellow tones, which turn into a very real brownish yellow when close-chromed. The dye is suitable. It is also ideal for dyeing using the single-bath chromating process, which also gives very real brownish yellow tones.
The diazotization of the 2-aminobenzene-5-sulphonic acid phenyl ester-1,2'-dicarboxylic acid can be carried out by methods known per se, advantageously by the so-called indirect method, that is to say by using a solution containing an alkali metal salt as the diazotism - contains dicarboxylic acid serving as the component and the required amount of nitrite.
a dilute acid solution containing an excess of the theoretically required amount of acid, in particular hydrochloric acid.
In the present process, the coupling is advantageously carried out in an alkaline medium. Here you can z. B. proceed so that the pyrazolone serving as the coupling component is dissolved with the required amount of alkali metal hydroxide and the excess alkali metal required for the coupling reaction is added in the form of an alkali metal carbonate. (xe- if necessary, the coupling can also be carried out with the addition of neutral or basic solvents such as
Alcohol, pyridine, ethanolamine, etc. take place.
Example: 33.7 parts of 2-aminobenzene-5-sulfonic acid phenyl ester-1,2'-diacid are dissolved in 400 parts of water and 8 parts of sodium hydroxide. 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite are added to the solution, and then at 5 to 8 it is slowly added dropwise to 100 parts by volume of 5N hydrochloric acid.
Sufficient sodium carbonate is added to the suspension of the Diazov compound so that only a weak Congo acidic reaction is present and the whole thing at 5 to 10 to a solution of 20.9 parts 1- (4'-chloro) -phenyl-3-met. added hyl-5-pyrazolone in 500 parts of water and 25 parts of sodium carbonate.
The mixture is stirred until the diazo reaction disappears at 8 to 10, the dye is separated off completely by adding sodium chloride, filtered and dried.
The 2-aminobenzene-5-sulfonic acid phenyl ester -1, 2'-diacid used here as starting material can, for. B. be prepared as follows: 156.5 parts of 2-chlorobenzene-1-carboxylic acid are slowly introduced into 350.0 parts of chlorosulfonic acid at room temperature with stirring and the mixture is heated to 95 to 100 for 4 hours.
The solution thus obtained is then poured onto 1500 parts of ice with stirring and the resulting white precipitate of 2-chlorobenzene-5-sulfonic acid chloride-1-carboxylic acid is suction filtered and washed out with ice water.
The 2-chlorobenzene-5-sulfonic acid chloride-1-carboxylic acid obtained in this way is suspended in 1000 parts of ice water and 138.0 parts of 1-oxybenzene-2-carboxylic acid are added. 30% strength sodium hydroxide solution is slowly added dropwise to this suspension with vigorous stirring until the reaction is weak but permanent with phenolphthalein alkali metal. The temperature rises to 35. The mixture is left to stir at 35 to 20 hours.
The resulting solution is then acidified with concentrated hydrochloric acid, the product which precipitates out is filtered and washed out with water. The dried product is treated with 600 parts by volume of 24% ammonia and 4 parts of copper powder for 2 hours at 125 to 130 in the car. The resulting brownish colored solution is with. Hydrochloric acid acidified, the precipitated product filtered with. Water washed out and dried.
