Die Kupplung erfolgt beim vorliegenden Verfahren zweckmässig in alkalischem Me dium.
EMI0002.0001
in 250 Volumteilen Alkohol,
Process for the preparation of a monoazo dye. It has been found that a valuable monoazo dye is obtained if diazotized 4-nitro-2-amino-1-oxybenzene-6-sulfonic acid is used with the compound of the formula
EMI0001.0006
united.
When dry, the new dye is a black powder that dissolves in dilute sodium carbonate solution with blue-violet color, in concentrated sulfuric acid with red color, and colors wool from acetic acid bath in gray-blue tones which, when chromated close, turn into a green with very good integrity properties . The dye is ideal for dyeing using the single-bath chrome plating process, which also gives real green tones.
Serving as a coupling component in the present process compound of the formula given can be prepared by methods known per se, for. B. by condensing one mole of cyanuric halide, preferably as cyanuric chloride, with one mole of 1-amino-7-oxynaphthalene and with two moles of mono-n-butyl-ainine. In this case, the condensation with the 1-amino-7-oxynaphthalene is expediently carried out first.
The condensation is expediently carried out in aqueous medium and in the presence or with the addition of acid-binding agents. It is generally advantageous to react the cyanuric halide in as finely divided a form as possible.
In the present process, the coupling is advantageously carried out in an alkaline medium. In general, the coupling is promoted by the addition of pyridine or, preferably, ethanol.
Example: 23.4 parts of 4-nitro-2-amino-1-oxybenzene-6-sulfonic acid are suspended in 100 parts of water and 5 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid and, with external cooling, are added with 25 parts by volume of 4N sodium nitrite 5 to 10 diazotized. Sodium carbonate is added to the diazo solution so that a congo-neutral reaction occurs, and then with a suspension of 40 parts of the compound
EMI0002.0001
in 250 parts by volume of alcohol,
25 parts of sodium carbonate and 4 parts of sodium hydroxide combined. The mixture is stirred at 8 to 10 until the coupling has ended. It is then diluted to 1000 parts by volume with water, the main amount of the alcohol is distilled off by heating and the dye is precipitated by adding 10 parts of sodium chloride per 100 parts by volume of the coupling mixture. After the cold it is filtered, washed with 10% sodium chloride solution and dried.
For cleaning, the dye can be dissolved in a hot dilute sodium carbonate solution, filtered and precipitated with sodium chloride.
The triazine compound used as the coupling component and corresponding to the formula given can be prepared as follows. are: 15.9 parts of 1-amino-7-oxynaphthalene who dissolved in 500 parts of water and 10 parts by volume of 10N hydrochloric acid at 80 to 85. The solution is then cooled to 60 and, with thorough stirring, 18.4 parts of cyanuric chloride, which have been dissolved in 50 parts by volume of hot acetone, are added.
After about 10 minutes, n-Buty lamin is added to the sus pension until a clearly alkaline reaction to brilliant yellow occurs. The suspension is then stirred for a further 12 hours at room temperature, the reaction should always remain alkaline compared to brilliant yellow. If necessary, n-butylamine must be added.
The reaction mixture is then filtered and washed out with water. The residue is then suspended in 500 parts of water and 50 parts by volume of 30% hydrochloric acid and vigorously stirred. It is then filtered again and washed with water.
For cleaning, the light gray condensation product obtained can be dissolved in alcohol and precipitated out again by diluting it with water.
