Process for the preparation of a pebble dye. The main patent describes a process for the preparation of a vat dye, which consists in adding 1 mol of 1-amino-4-halogenanthrae.hin (> n and at least 1 </ B > Allow moles of ammonia, formamide and benzoyleliloride to act on one another, with the proviso that the sequence is chosen so that
that, when the ammonia acts, an aromatic compound containing halogen is present in the reaction mixture, and when the formamide and benzoyl chloride act, an aromatic compound with at least one free amino group is present in the reaction mixture.
It has been found that a new valuable vat dye can be obtained if 1 moles of 1-amino-5-halo-anthraquinone and at least 1 moles of ammonia, formamide and 2.
5-dichlorobenzoyl chloride can act on each other, with the proviso that the sequence is chosen so that when the ammonia takes effect in the reaction mixture, a halogen-containing aromatic compound, both the action of the formamide and the, 2. 5-dichloro benzoyle, hlorids an aromatic compound with at least one free amino group is present in the reaction mixture.
The process can be carried out in various ways, for example by converting a 1-amino-5-ha.logenant-HhrachinGn by treatment with ammonia in the 1. 5- Diaminoaiithrao, this with Formamide to 5-amino-l. 9-anthrapyrimidine condensed and the latter compound treated with 2. 5-dichlorobenzoylehloride.
You can also condense the 1-amino-5-halo-genanthraquinone first with formamide, then the resulting 5-halo-1. React 9-anthrapyrimidine with ammonia to form 5-amino- 1. 9-anthrapyrimidine and treat this with 2. 5-dichlorobenzoyl chloride.
In addition, the 1-amino, -5-halo-anthraquinone can also first be mixed with 2. 5-dichlorobenzoyleliloride to form 1- (92.5-dichlorobenzoylamino) -5-halo-enant 'HRachinon convert this ses by treatment with ammonia in the 1- (2. 5-dichlorobenzoylamine (-5-aminoanthra.- ehinün) and condense the latter compound with formamide.
Finally, it is also possible to first convert the 1-amino-5-halo-antlirachinone into the 1. 5-diaminoanthrarhinone by treating it with ammonia, this with 2. 5-dichlorobenzoyle, 'hlüri, cl partially acylated and the result is, 1 - (2 !. 5 - Dichlorbenzoyla.mino.) - 5- a, minoa -nthraeliine, n then to condense with formamide. The same dye is produced in all cases.
The dye obtained, the 5 - (2. 5- Die, chlorobenzoylamino) -1, -9-anthrapyrimidine, provides a brown vat made of cotton and wool in yellow tones of very good fastness is colored.
Example1: 360 Parts of 1-amino-5- (2.5-dichlorobenzoyl-amino) -antlirachinone, made from a 1-amino -5-hal% o, enanthrae, biuo-n by treatment with Amm (Yiiia and by partial acylation with 2.5-dichlorobenzoyl chloride or by the action of 2.
5-dichlorobenzamide, which is formed by reacting ammonia with 2. 5-diphlobenzoylechloride, to a 1-amino-, 5-haloanthraic or by acylating a 1-amino-5-halogen - anthraquinones with 2-. 5-Dielilorbenzoyleblorid and implementation of the 1- (2.
5- dichlorobenzo, yla.mino) - 5 - halogeuanthrachi- nuns with Amm (> nia.k, in 1,250 parts of formamide are stirred for 8 hours for 18.0 to 185 'C .
After cooling, it is filtered off with suction, washed with alcohol and dried. If necessary, the reaction product can be purified by customary methods, for example by crystallization or treatment with oxidizing agents, for example in the form of its aqueous paste with an ilypochlorite solution. The reaction can take place in the presence of a diluent, for example phenel or nitrobenzene,
be performed. Likewise, to accelerate the reaction, catalytically active agents or agents which promote dehydration, for example boric acid, anhydrous oxalic acid, soda ash, copper salts, etc., can be added.
Example 2: 247 parts of 5-amino-1 .9-anthrapyrimidiii, obtained from 1-amino-5-halogenanthraquinone by treatment with formamide and condensation of the available 5-ilaloo-en-1. 9 -aut-hrapyrimidins with ammonia or from 1-amino-5-halogena.nthraquinone by treatment with ammonia and condensation of the resulting 1- 5-diaminoantlirachinons with formamide in the presence of phenol,
are boiled in 1000 parts of nitrobenzene after adding 220 parts of 2 . 5-dichlorobenzeneyl chloride for a short time. As soon as the implementation is finished, you let it cool down and work on in the usual way.
The acylation of 5-amino-l. Instead of in nitrobenzene, 9-authrapyrimidines with 2. 5-dichlorobenzoylochloride can also be carried out in o-dieffilorbenze, 1 or in the absence of a solvent.
You can also proceed in such a way that 5-halogen-1. Instead of reacting 9-anthrapyrimidine with ammonia and 2. 5-dichlorobenzoyleblo-chloride, it condenses with the 2. 5-dichlorobenzamide obtainable from ammonia and 2. 5-dielilobenzoylochloride.
