Process for the preparation of a vat dye. In the main patent, a process for the preparation of a vat dye is described, which consists in adding 1 moles of 1-amino-4-halogenanthraquinone and at least 1 mole each of ammonia, formamide and benzoyl chloride can act on each other, with the proviso that the sequence is chosen so that when the ammohiac acts,
a halogen-containing aromatic compound in the reaction mixture, under the action of formamide and benzoyl chloride. an aromatic compound with at least one free amino group is present in the reaction mixture.
It has been found that a new valuable vat dye can be obtained if one uses 1 mol of 1-amino-5-ha.logenanthraquinone and at least 1 mol of ammonia, formamide and let benzoyl chloride act on one another, with the proviso that the sequence is chosen so that when the ammonia acts in the reaction,
mixed with a halogen-containing aromatic compound when formamide and benzoylehlo-ride act. an aromatic compound with at least one free amino group is present in the reaction mixture.
The process can be carried out in various ways, for example by converting a 1-amino-5-halogenanthraquinone into the 1. 5- diaminoanthraquinone by treatment with ammonia, this with formamide to the 5- Amino-1 . 9-anthrapyrimidine condensed and the latter compound treated with benzoyl chloride.
You can also condense the 1-amino-5-halogenanthraquinone # n first with formamide, then the resulting 5-halogen-1. 9-anthrapyrimidine with ammonia to form 5-amino-l. 9-anthrapyrimidine, react and treat this with benzo-ylohlo-rid.
Furthermore, the 1-amino-5-halogenanthraquinone can also first be converted with benzoyl chloride to form 1-benzoylamino-5-halogen-9, nthraquin (> n, which can be converted into 1-benzoylamino-5-a- by treating with ammonia. convert minoanthraüliine, n and condense the latter, compound with formamide.
Sssliliessliell it is also possible to convert the 1-amino, -5-halo-anthraquinone first by treating with ammonia into the 1. 5-diamino-anthraquinone, to acylate this partially with benzoyle chloride and that arose - 1-amino-5-benzoylaminoanthraquinone was then condensed with Fürmamid. In all cases the same color material is created.
The dye obtained, the 5-benzoylamino-1,9-an, thra, pyrimicline, provides a bra, une vat from which cotton and wool are dyed in yellow shades of very good fastness.
Example1: 360 parts of 1-amino-5-benzoylaminoa-uthra-ehinone, produced from a 1-amino-5-haloanthraquinone by treatment with ammonia and by partial benzoylie- tion of the resulting 1. 5-diaminoanthraquinane or by the action of benzamide, which is produced by reaction of ammonium #. and benzoylochloride is formed,
to a 1-amino - 5 - halogenanthraquinone or by benzoylating a 1 - amino - 5 - halogenanthraquinone. and conversion of the resulting, 1 - Benzoylamino - 5 - halogenanthra, - quinones with ammonia, are mixed in 1250 parts of formamidi with stirring 8, Heated to 180 to IM 'C for hours.
After it is cold it is vacuumed, washed with alcohol and dried. If necessary, the reaction product can be purified by the usual methods, for example by crystallization or treatment with oxidizing agents, for example in the form of its aqueous paste with hypochlorite solution. The reaction can be carried out in the presence of a diluent, for example phenol or nitrobenzene.
Likewise, to accelerate the reaction one can add analytically effective agents or agents which promote water elimination, for example boric acid, anhydrous oxalic acid, cacinated soda, copper salts, etc.
Example 2: 247 parts of 5-amino-1. 9-antlirapyrimidine, obtainable from 1-amino-5-halogenanthraquinone by treatment with formamide and condensation of the obtainable 5 - Halogen-1. 9-anthrapyrimidines with ammonia or from 1-amino-5-ha.logenanthraquinone by treating with ammonia and condensation .the resulting 1. 5-diaminoanthraquinone with Formamide in the presence of phenal,
are boiled in 1000 parts of nitrobenzene after the addition of 300 parts of pyridine and 170 parts of benzoyl chloride for a short time. Instead of pyridine, soda can also be added as an acid-binding agent. As soon as the implementation is finished, you let it cool down and work on in the usual way.
The acylation of 5-amino-1 9-anthrapyrimidine with benzoyl chloride can also be carried out in nitrobenzene or in o-dichlorobenzene etc. in the absence of acid-binding agents or in the absence of a solvent .
One can also proceed in such a way that. 5-halogen-1. 9-anthrapyrimidine instead of successively reacting with ammonia and benzeyl chloride, condenses with the benzamide obtainable from ammonia, 1, and benzoyl chloride.
