Process for the preparation of a nitrogen-containing pebble dye The main patent describes a process for the preparation of a nitrogen-containing vat dye,
in which 1 mol. of the tetrahalogenopyranthrone obtainable by treating pyranthrone with halogen in chlorosulfonic acid with 3 mol. of the aminodibenzanthrone obtainable by nitrating dibenzanthrone with nitric acid in nitrobenzene and reducing the resulting nitro compound and 1 mol - converts chinone.
It has now been found that a new vat dye is obtained if 1 mole of cyanuric chloride is reacted with 1 mole of aminodibenzanthrone, obtainable by reducing the nitrodibenzanthrone obtained by nitrating dibenzanthrone in nitrobenzene, and 2 moles of 1-aminoanthraquinone. The condensation is expediently carried out in high-boiling diluents and with the addition of acid-binding agents such as sodium acetate.
In many cases it is advantageous to add catalysts, for example copper compounds.
The new dye dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a wine-red color and, with an alkaline hydrosulphite solution, gives a violet vat solution from which the vegetable fibers are dyed in yellow-green, exceptionally real shades.
Example: 470 'feile aminoclibenzanthrone wardon in 1000 parts of nitrobenzene with 190 parts of cyanuric chloride heated to 200 for 1/2 hour, then 250 parts of sodium acetate, 20 parts of copper carbonate and a solution of 450 parts of 1-aminoanthraquinone in 1000 parts of nitrobenzene. The mixture is stirred at the boiling point of nitrobenzene until a sample of the reaction product is practically chlorine-free. You can also set the amines in reverse order or at the same time, you always get the. same dye.
