Process for the preparation of a vat dye. The main patent describes a process for the preparation of a nitrogen-containing vat dye,
in which 1 mol. of the tetrahalogenopyranthrone obtainable by treating pyranthrone with halogen in chlorosulfonic acid with 3 mol. of the aminodibenza.nthrone obtainable by nitrating dibenzanthrone with nitric acid in nitrobenzene: and reducing the resulting nitro compound and 1 time. 1-Amino-anthraquinone converts.
It was not found that B a new vat dye is obtained; If you add 1 mole of dihalo @ gendibenzpyrenchino: n, obtainable from dibenzpyrenchinone of the formula:
EMI0001.0032
by halogenation in Chlorsulfonsänre with the addition of iodine, with 1 mol. 1-Amino-anthra.ehinon and 1 mol. Aminodibenzanthrone, obtainable by reducing the nitrodibenzanthrone obtainable by nitrating dibenzanthrone with nitric acid in nitrobenzene. The condensation is conveniently carried out in high-boiling diluents and with the addition of acid-binding agents,
like sodium acetate. In many cases it is advantageous to add catalysts, for example copper compounds.
The new dye dissolves in concentrated - concentrated sulfuric acid with a violet color and, with - alkaline hydrosulfite solution, gives a blue vat solution; -from which the vegetable fiber is dyed in blue-gray to gray-black, excellent real shades.
Example: 60 parts of di-bromodibenzpyrenchi.non (prepared from dibenzpyrenquinone by brominating in chlorosulfon4ur6 with the addition of iodine) in 2000 parts of nitrobenzene are boiled with stirring Parts of 1-amino anthraquinone, 55 parts of aminodibenzanthrone, 50 parts of sodium acetate and 15 parts of copper oxide until the end of the dye formation.
After cooling, it is suctioned off and worked up as usual. But you can just as well remove the solvent by wiping it off with steam.
