Process for the preparation of a nitrogen-containing pebble dye. The main patent describes a process for the preparation of a nitrogen-containing vat dye, in which one is once.
of the TetrahaJogenpyranthrons obtainable by treating Pyra.nthron with halogen in chlorosulfonic acid with 3 mol. Of the aminodibenza.nthrons and 1 mol. 1-Aminoanthraquinone obtainable by nitrating dibenzauthrone with nitric acid in nitrobenzene and reducing the nitro compound formed.
It has now been found that a new vat dye is obtained if 1 mol. Tetrahalogenpyranthrone, obtainable by treating pyranthrone with.
Halogens in chlorosulfonic acid, with 31/2 mol. Aminodibenzantlirone, obtainable by reducing dibenzanthrone nitrated in nitrobenzene, and 1/2 hol. 1-Aminoanthraquinone converts. The condensation is conveniently carried out in high-boiling diluents and with the addition of acid-binding agents, such as sodium acetate.
It is often of advantage to add catalysts, for example copper compounds.
The new dye dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a violet color and, with alkaline hydrosu.lfit solution, gives a blue vat solution from which the vegetable fibers turn gray to. black, exceptionally real tones.
Example: 36 parts of tetrabromopyranthrone (prepared by treating pyranthrone with bromine in chlorosulfonic acid) are in 1000 parts of nitrobenzene with 82 parts of aminodibenzanthrone, 6 parts of 1-aminoanthra @ quinone, 25 parts of sodium acetate, 3 parts Copper oxide and 3 parts of copper carbonate boiled with stirring until the dye formation has ended. It is filtered off with suction, washed with hot nitrobenzene, boiled with dilute hydrochloric acid, washed neutral and dried.
The reaction mixture can also be worked up in such a way that the nitrobenzene is distilled off, if appropriate under reduced pressure or with steam.
