"processo de seqüestro de carbono sob a forma de um mineral no qual o carbono está no grau de oxidação +3". a presente invenção refere-se a um processo de seqüestro de carbono emitido na atmosfera sob a forma de co~ 2~ que compreende: a) uma etapa de concentração do co~ 2~ em fase líquida; b) uma etapa de eletrorredução em meio aprótico em um composto no qual o carbono passa ao grau de oxidação +3 sob a forma de ácido oxálico ou fórmico; c) se for o caso, uma etapa de reextração do ácido oxálico ou fórmico em fase aquosa; e d) uma etapa de mineralização por reação com um composto de um elemento m que chega a um composto estável no qual a relação atômica cim é de aproximadamente 2/1.
