Abstract

"PROCESSO PARA APLICAR PARTìCULAS SóLIDAS DE UM MEDICAMENTO EM SUPERFìCIES DE MUCOSA DAS CAVIDADES NASAIS, COMPOSIçãO AQUOSA FARMACêUTICA, E, PROCESSO DE PREPARAçãO DE UMA COMPOSIçãO AQUOSA FARMACêUTICA". Uma composição aquosa farmacêutica que é capaz de ser pulverizada dentro da cavidade nasal de um indivíduo e que compreende: (A) uma quantidade farmaceuticamente efetiva de partículas sólidas de medicamento que é efetivo no tratamento de uma condição corporal em virtude de sua presença sobre as superfícies de mucosa da cavidade nasal; e (B) um agente de suspensão em uma quantidade efetiva para manter as citadas partículas uniformemente dispersadas na composição e para fornecer à composição as seguintes propriedades tixotrópicas: (i) a viscosidade de posição na forma não-cisalhada é relativamente elevada, com a composição se apresentando na forma semelhante a gel; (ii) à medida que a composição é submetida ao cisalhamento (agitação) na preparação para pulverização, a viscosidade da composição torna-se relativamente baixa e tal que a composição na forma de uma névoa flui prontamente para dentro das passagens nasais para ser depositada sobre as superfícies de mucosa da cavidade nasal; e (iii) na forma depositada sobre as superfícies de mucosa, a viscosidade da composição é relativamente elevada e tal que ela resiste à sua remoção das superfícies de mucosa pelas forças inerentes mucocilárias que estão presentes na cavidade nasal, um processo de uso da composição e um processo de preparação da composição, incluindo na forma preferida o uso de esteróide antiinflamatório, por exemplo, triancinolona acetonida, e uma forma inodora da composição.
