Abstract

"PROCESSO PARA PRODUZIR UMA PRé-FORMA, E, FIBRA". A presente invenção relaciona-se a um processo para produzir uma pré-forma, que é substancialmente livre de impurezas de OH, para uma fibra óptica, onde uma ou mais camadas de quartzo, que podem ou não ser dopadas, são depositadas sobre a superfície interna de um tubo de suporte de vidro de quartzo, em cujo processo um forno é movido axialmente com respeito ao tubo de suporte, e após as camadas de quartzo terem sido depositadas, o tubo de suporte é contraído e uma pré-forma em forma de barra enquanto é aquecido, caracterizado pelo fato de que citado forno compreende um forno de resistência elétrica, em cujo forno o tubo de suporte é girado, com o espaço entre o tubo de suporte rotativo e o forno sendo lavado por um gás inerte.
