Un compuesto representado por la siguiente fórmula estructural (1) o las sales, hidratos, estereoisómeros y solvatos farmacéuticamente aceptables del mismo, donde: Ar es un grupo aromático sustituido o no sustituido; Q es un enlace covalente, -CH2-, -CH2-CH2-, -CH2CH2CH2- o -CH2CH2CH2CH2-; W es un grupo alquileno sustituido o no sustituido de dos a diez átomos de longitud o un grupo heteroalquileno sustituido o no sustituido, donde el grupo heteroalquileno es un grupo alquileno de dos a diez átomos de longitud en el que uno o más grupos metileno han sido reemplazados por un grupo funcional seleccionado entre -CH=CH-, -C:::C, -O-, -CO-, -NR7-, -NR7CO-, -C(=NOH)-, -S-, -S(O)-, -S(O)2- o -CH(NR7R8)-; el anillo de fenilo A está sustituido opcionalmente con hasta cuatro sustituyentes además de R1; R1 es -(CH2)n-CH(OR2)-(CH2)mE, -(CH)=C(OR2)-(CH2)mE, -(CH2)n-CH(Y)-(CH2)mE o -(CH)=C(Y)-(CH2)mE; donde E es COOR3, alquil(C1-3)nitrilo, carboxamida, sulfonamida, acilsulfonamida o tetrazol y donde sulfonamida, acilsulfonamida y tetrazol están sustituidos opcionalmente con uno o más sustituyentes seleccionados independientemente entre: alquilo C1-6, haloalquilo C1-6, y arilalquilo C0-4; R2 es -H, un grupo alifático, un grupo alifático sustituido, haloalquilo, un grupo aralquilo, un grupo aralquilo sustituido, un grupo aromático, un grupo aromático sustituido, -COR2, -COOR4, CONR5R6, -C(S)R4, -C(S)OR4 o -C(S)NR5R6; Y es -O-, -CH2-, -CH2CH2- o un grupo -CH=CH- que está unido a un átomo de carbono en el anillo de fenilo A que está en orto respecto a R1; R3-R8 son independientemente -H, un grupo alifático, un grupo alifático sustituido, un grupo aromático o un grupo aromático sustituido; y n y m son independientemente 0, 1 o 2.
