Definitions
- the present invention provides a torque hinge, particularly a state in which two members connected on both sides are rotated integrally or relatively against a required frictional force by performing a required operation, and a state in which two members are relatively rotated against the required frictional force.
- the present invention relates to a torque hinge with a clutch mechanism that can switch between states.
- Patent Documents 1 and 2 below disclose an inner ring and an outer ring having a common rotating shaft, and an inner ring and an outer ring arranged between the inner ring and the outer ring so that they can be connected and disconnected by a required frictional force.
- a torque hinge is disclosed having connecting members that connect to each other.
- Patent Documents 1 and 2 are so-called friction torque hinges, in which a spring member composed of a metal thin plate is employed as a connecting member, and such a spring member is in close contact with the outer peripheral surface of the inner ring to provide the required friction. It has a spring portion that generates force.
- the inner ring and the outer ring are capable of relative rotation against the above-mentioned required frictional force by the spring member.
- Patent Document 3 discloses a bidirectional torque limiter using a coil spring, for example, Patent Document 4 below, a so-called ring spring, and, for example, Patent Document 5 below, a so-called tolerance ring.
- the inner ring and the outer ring are capable of relative rotation against the required frictional force, so that the same effects as those of the torque hinge can be obtained.
- the torque hinge is sometimes used as an angle holding device that stops the lid at an arbitrary angle of inclination with respect to the main body. It may be used as a rotation transmission device by connecting to the driven side member.
- the driven side member For example, if one of the inner ring and the outer ring is connected to an electric motor as a driving side member and the other is connected to a door of a vehicle as a driven side member, the door can be opened and closed by the electric motor.
- the relative rotation of the inner ring and the outer ring makes it possible to release the external force applied to the door, thereby preventing the door from flapping.
- the present invention has been made in view of the above facts, and its main technical problem is to rotate two members connected on both sides integrally or against a required frictional force by performing a required operation.
- a coil spring having a pair of hook portions is attached to the outer peripheral surface of the outer ring, the outer ring is supported by a cylindrical support member, and the support member has a structure for controlling the coil spring. are combined in series in the axial direction so that the control member is rotatable relative to the support member about a common rotation axis possessed by the inner ring and the outer ring.
- the present inventors have found that the main technical problem can be solved by providing hook grooves into which each is fitted, and by configuring the coil spring to hold or release the outer ring according to a required operation.
- an inner ring and an outer ring having a common rotation axis, and a hinge joint disposed between the inner ring and the outer ring to separate them by a required frictional force.
- a torque hinge comprising a connection member that is tangibly connected, the inner ring and the outer ring can rotate integrally or relatively against the required frictional force,
- the outer ring is inserted into and supported by a cylindrical support member, and a coil spring having a pair of hook portions is attached to the outer peripheral surface of the outer ring,
- a control member for controlling the coil spring is combined axially in series with the support member, the control member is rotatable relative to the support member about the common rotation axis, and the support member and the The control member is formed with a hook groove into which each of the pair of hook portions of the coil spring is fitted,
- a torque hinge is provided wherein the coil spring retains or releases the outer ring upon a required operation.
- said coil spring and said control member are arranged one on each axial side of said support member, said support member being rotatable about a support axis perpendicular to said common axis of rotation.
- the control member is provided with an arc-shaped rack that extends in the circumferential direction and meshes with the bevel gear.
- the winding directions of the wires constituting each of the coil springs arranged on both sides in the axial direction of the supporting member are opposite to each other when viewed from one side in the axial direction.
- control member has a cylindrical support projection that enters between the inner peripheral surface of the outer ring and the outer peripheral surface of the inner ring, and the connection members are arranged on both sides of the support member in the axial direction. It is preferable that the control member is supported from both sides in the axial direction by the support projections of each of the control members.
- the coil spring when the coil spring is attached to the outer peripheral surface of the outer ring and each of the pair of hook portions is not subjected to any force, the coil spring tightens and holds the outer ring.
- the coil spring opens the outer ring by rotating the control member with respect to the support member.
- said connecting member is non-rotatable with respect to said outer ring.
- the connecting member is held from both sides in the axial direction by a pair of retainers, and each of the pair of retainers is circumferentially locked to the outer ring by circumferential locking means.

- each of the pair of hook portions of the coil spring mounted on the outer peripheral surface of the outer ring is connected to each of the support member that supports the outer ring and the control member that is combined in series with the support member in the axial direction. and the control member is rotatable relative to the support member about the common rotational axis of the inner ring and the outer ring.
- the supporting member When the coil spring tightens and holds the outer ring, the supporting member is integrated with the outer ring. While it is relatively rotatable against the frictional force, when the coil spring is in a state in which the outer ring is released, the support member is separated from the outer ring and can be rotated with a sufficiently small force against it.
- the inner ring can also rotate with a sufficiently small force with respect to the supporting member. That is, according to the torque hinge of the present invention, by performing a required operation, two members connected on both sides are rotated integrally or relatively against the required frictional force, and sufficiently regardless of the required frictional force. It is possible to switch to a state in which relative rotation is performed with a small force.
- the torque hinge of the present invention is incorporated as a rotation transmission device in a vehicle door, for example, and the inner ring is connected to the electric motor, and the support member is connected to the door, the electric motor will not operate as long as the coil spring holds the outer ring. can open and close the door against the required frictional force by the connecting member. If the door is suddenly subjected to an external force due to wind or the like while it is being opened or closed or held at the fully open position or the intermediate open position by the detent torque or holding torque of the electric motor, the inner ring and the outer ring may move against each other. By rotating the door, the external force applied to the door can be released, thereby preventing the door from flapping. On the other hand, when the coil spring opens the outer ring, the door can be opened and closed with a sufficiently small force even if the inner ring is connected to the electric motor.

- the inner peripheral surfaces of the winding portions 90 of the coil springs 89a and 89b are completely separated from the outer peripheral surface of the outer ring 6, but if the outer ring 6 is rotatable with respect to the coil springs 89a and 89b, The inner peripheral surfaces of the winding portions 90 of the coil springs 89a and 89b are not necessarily completely separated from the outer peripheral surface of the outer ring 6, and both surfaces may be in contact with each other.
- each of the pair of hook portions 92 of the coil spring 89 attached to the outer peripheral surface of the outer ring 6 is combined with the supporting member 43 for supporting the outer ring 6 and this in series in the axial direction.
- the control member 72 is fitted in the hook grooves 48 and 82 formed in each of the control members 72, and the control member 72 is rotatable relative to the support member 43 around the common rotation axis o1 of the inner ring 4 and the outer ring 6. Therefore, by rotating the support member 43 and the control member 72 relative to each other around the common rotation axis o1, the coil spring 89 tightens and holds the outer ring 6, and the coil spring 89 tightens the outer ring 6. It becomes possible to switch between the open state and the open state.
- the support member 43 is integrated with the outer ring 6 . is rotatable integrally with the support member 8 or relatively against the required frictional force. Since the inner ring 4 can be rotated with a sufficiently small force with respect to the lever, the inner ring 4 can also be rotated with a sufficiently small force with respect to the support member 43 . That is, according to the torque hinge of the present invention, by performing a required operation, two members connected on both sides are rotated integrally or relatively against the required frictional force, and sufficiently regardless of the required frictional force. It is possible to switch to a state in which relative rotation is performed with a small force.
- the torque hinge of the present invention is incorporated as a rotation transmission device in a vehicle door, for example, and the inner ring 4 is connected to the electric motor and the support member 43 is connected to the door, the coil spring 89 holds the outer ring 6.
- the electric motor can open and close the door against the required frictional force of the connecting member 8 .
- the inner ring 4 The external force applied to the door can be released by the relative rotation of the outer ring 6, thereby preventing the door from flapping.
- the coil spring 89 opens the outer ring 6, the door can be opened and closed with a sufficiently small force even if the inner ring 4 is connected to the electric motor.
- the torque hinge constructed according to the present invention has been described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. Change is possible.
- the coil spring 89 when the coil spring 89 is attached to the outer peripheral surface of the outer ring 6 and the pair of hook portions 92 are not subjected to any force, the inner peripheral surface of the wound portion 90 is in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the outer ring 6 .
- the coil springs 89 were configured to open the outer ring 6 upon rotation of the control member 72 about the common rotational axis o1, but if desired, the coil springs may be applied to the outer peripheral surface of the outer ring 6.
- the control member 72 is driven by operating the intermediate member 62 with an operation mechanism (not shown). Member 72 may be directly operated by an operating mechanism. In this case, since the two control members 72a and 72b are connected and interlocked by the respective rack 86 and intermediate member 62 bevel gear 64, as described above, either one of the two control members 72a and 72b can be operated. Either one will follow the other if directly operated by the mechanism.
- the connecting member may be disposed between the inner ring 4 and the outer ring 6 and connect the two so that they can be connected and disconnected by a required frictional force. , so-called ring springs, or tolerance rings can also be employed.
