水分の含有量を低減した金属イオン含有非水溶媒をナトリウムイオン等の残存カチオンの混入を抑制しつつ製造可能な金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料および金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法を提供する。 イオン交換可能な全カチオンの88eq%以上に相当するカチオンがカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなることを特徴とする金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料およびイオン交換可能な全カチオンの88eq%以上に相当するカチオンがカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料と、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含むとを接触させることを特徴とする金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法である。
Description
本発明は、金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料および金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法に関するものである。
リチウムイオン電池においては、電解液として、有機非水溶媒に六フッ化リン酸リチウム(LiPF6 )などのリチウム系電解質を溶解させた非水電解液が用いられている。
しかしながら、上記電解液を構成する溶媒及びリチウム系電解質中には微量の水分が残留しており、この水分は、上記LiPF6 等のリチウム系電解質と反応して、例えば以下の反応式(1)~(3)に示すようにフッ化水素(HF)等を生成する。
非水電解液中に上記フッ化水素(フッ酸)等の酸性不純物が存在する場合、リチウムイオン電池の電池容量や充放電のサイクル特性を低下させたり、電池内部の腐食を生じやすくなることから、非水電解液中の水分量を低減することが求められるようになっており、リチウムイオン電池の性能向上に伴って、現在では、非水電解液中の水分を5質量ppm未満にすることが求められるようになっている。
非水電解液中の水分量を低減する方法としてゼオライトにより非水電解液中の水分を吸着除去する方法が知られているが、ゼオライトを用いて非水電解液を処理した場合、ゼオライト中のナトリウムイオン等が非水電解液中に不純物として溶出することから、例えば、ナトリウムイオン濃度を2質量ppm未満、好ましくは1質量ppm未満に抑制しつつ非水電解液中の水分量を低減する方法が求められる。
このため、例えば、交換可能なカチオンの97.5mol%~99.5mol%がリチウムイオンに交換されたゼオライトにより非水電解液中の水分を除去する方法が提案されるようになっており(特許文献1(特開2011-71111号公報)参照)、係る方法によれば、ゼオライト中のカチオンの大部分が予めリチウムイオンに交換されているために、非水電解液中へのナトリウムイオンの混入を抑制しつつ非水電解液中の水分を除去し得るとされている。
しかしながら、本発明者等が検討したところ、特許文献1記載の方法においては、ゼオライト中に微量ながら存在するイオン交換可能なナトリウムイオン等の残存カチオンが非水電解液中へ混入することが判明し、さらなる改善が求められるようになっていた。
このような状況下、本発明は、水分の含有量を低減した金属イオン含有非水溶媒をナトリウムイオン等の残存カチオンの混入を抑制しつつ製造可能な金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料および金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法を提供することを目的とするものである。
本発明者等は、上記目的を達成するために鋭意研究を重ねた結果、イオン交換可能な全カチオンの88eq%以上に相当するカチオンがカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料により、上記技術課題を解決し得ることを見出し、本知見に基づいて本発明を完成するに至った。
すなわち、本発明は、
(1)イオン交換可能な全カチオンの88eq%以上に相当するカチオンがカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなることを特徴とする金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料、
(2)イオン交換可能な全カチオンの88eq%以上に相当するカチオンがカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料と、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液とを接触させることを特徴とする金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法、
(3)前記金属イオン含有非水溶媒が非水溶媒に金属塩電解質が0.01eq/L以上溶解した非水電解液である上記(2)に記載の金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法、
(4)前記ゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料に対し、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液を上向流で通液する上記(2)に記載の金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法、
(5)前記ゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料に対し、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液を上向流で通液する上記(3)に記載の金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法、
を提供するものである。

を提供するものである。
本発明によれば、水分の含有量を低減した金属イオン含有非水溶媒をナトリウムイオン等の残存カチオンの混入を抑制しつつ製造可能な金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料および金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法を提供することができる。
以下、本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料について説明するものとする。
本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料は、イオン交換可能な全カチオンの88eq%以上に相当するカチオンがカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなることを特徴とするものである。

本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料を構成するゼオライトは、イオン交換可能な全カチオンのうち88eq%以上に相当するカチオンがカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたものであり、イオン交換可能な全カチオンのうち91eq%以上に相当するカチオンがカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたものであることが好ましく、イオン交換可能な全カチオンのうち94eq%以上に相当するカチオンがカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたものであることがより好ましい。
上記ゼオライトにおいて、カルシウムイオンでイオン交換する量の上限は特に制限されないが、通常、イオン交換可能な全カチオンのうち、100eq%以下に相当する量がカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されていることが適当であり、99.8eq%以下に相当する量がカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されていることがより適当であり、99.5eq%以下に相当する量がカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されていることがさらに適当である。
上記ゼオライトにおいて、カルシウムイオンでイオン交換する量の上限は特に制限されないが、通常、イオン交換可能な全カチオンのうち、100eq%以下に相当する量がカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されていることが適当であり、99.8eq%以下に相当する量がカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されていることがより適当であり、99.5eq%以下に相当する量がカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されていることがさらに適当である。
本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料は、イオン交換可能な全カチオンのうち88eq%以上に相当するカチオンがカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなることにより、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液とを接触させたときに、カルシウムイオンはもちろんナトリウムイオン等の残存カチオンの溶出、混入をも抑制しつつ水分の含有量を好適に低減することができる。
本出願書類において、上記カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換される割合は、ゼオライト中のイオン交換可能な全カチオンのモル当量を100eq%とした場合の割合で表される。
すなわち、本出願書類において、上記カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換される割合は、下記式(I)に示すように、ゼオライト中のイオン交換可能な全カチオンのモル当量の合計(eq)に対する、ゼオライト中のカルシウムイオンのモル当量(eq)が占める割合を意味する。

上記式(I)において、ゼオライト中のイオン交換可能な全カチオンのモル当量の合計(eq)は、以下に記載するゼオライト中のカチオン種の定量方法により測定されるカルシウムイオンとナトリウムイオンのモル当量の合計(eq)を意味する。
また、上記式(I)において、ゼオライト中のカルシウムイオンのモル当量(eq)は、以下に記載するゼオライト中のカチオン種の定量方法により測定されるカルシウムイオンのモル当量(eq)を意味する。
<ゼオライト中のカチオン種の定量方法>
ゼオライト0.1gに47%フッ化水素酸5mlと60%硝酸20mlを加えて加熱溶解し、次いで、1N硝酸を加えて50mlの溶液とする。この溶液について、誘導結合プラズマ(ICP)発光分光分析装置(パーキンエルマー社製OPTIMA3000DV)を用いて各カチオン種の濃度を測定し、ゼオライト中の各カチオン種の含有量からモル当量(eq)を算出する。
また、上記式(I)において、ゼオライト中のカルシウムイオンのモル当量(eq)は、以下に記載するゼオライト中のカチオン種の定量方法により測定されるカルシウムイオンのモル当量(eq)を意味する。
<ゼオライト中のカチオン種の定量方法>

本出願書類において、上記式(I)により算出される、ゼオライト中のイオン交換可能なカチオン中におけるカルシウムイオンが占める割合を、適宜「カルシウムイオン交換率」と称するものとする。
上記カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトにおいて、ゼオライト中に残存するカチオンは特に制限されず、ナトリウムイオン、リチウムイオン、及びカリウムイオン等のアルカリ金属カチオン、ベリリウムイオン、マグネシウムイオン、及びストロンチウムイオン等のアルカリ土類金属カチオン、またはプロトン等から選ばれる一種以上を挙げることができる。
通常、ゼオライトの多くは水酸化ナトリウムを用いて合成されることから、カルシウムイオンにより交換されるカチオンおよびゼオライト中に残存するカチオンともに、その多くは通常ナトリウムイオンである。

本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料は、カルシウムイオン交換率が88eq%以上であるゼオライトからなることにより、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液と接触させたときに、ゼオライトからのナトリウム等の残存カチオンの溶出を抑制しつつ、被処理液中の水分を高い割合で除去できるだけでなく、一部の遊離酸も除去することができる。
遊離酸としては特に制限されないが、例えば、金属イオン含有非水溶媒として非水電解液を処理した際に、非水電解液中の電解質が分解等することによって生成するフッ化水素等の酸を挙げることができる。
本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料を構成するゼオライトとしては、その結晶型が、A型、チャバサイト、フェリエライト、ZSM-5及びクリノプチロライトから成る群から選ばれた少なくとも一種以上のゼオライトであることが好ましく、A型ゼオライトであることがより好ましい。
これらのゼオライトが特に金属イオン含有非水溶媒の処理に適している理由は定かではないが、これらのゼオライトはその細孔径が約6Å以下と小さく、中でもA型ゼオライトは8員環細孔構造であり細孔径が5Åとより小さく、金属イオン含有非水溶媒として非水電解液を処理した際に、リチウムイオンと溶媒和している非水電解液の非水溶媒がこれらのゼオライト細孔内に進入せず、非水溶媒が化学変化し難いためと考えられる。
これらのゼオライトが特に金属イオン含有非水溶媒の処理に適している理由は定かではないが、これらのゼオライトはその細孔径が約6Å以下と小さく、中でもA型ゼオライトは8員環細孔構造であり細孔径が5Åとより小さく、金属イオン含有非水溶媒として非水電解液を処理した際に、リチウムイオンと溶媒和している非水電解液の非水溶媒がこれらのゼオライト細孔内に進入せず、非水溶媒が化学変化し難いためと考えられる。
本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料を構成するゼオライトは、その形態が、粉末状又は成形体等の任意の形態とすることができ、取扱いが容易な成形体であることが好ましい。
本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料を構成するゼオライトが成形体の形態を採る場合、係る成形体としては、ゼオライトにバインダーを添加して成形してなるものが好ましい。
上記成形に使用するバインダーとしては、シリカ、アルミナ及び粘土等から選ばれる一種以上を挙げることができ、バインダー中のナトリウム含有量が少ないものが好ましい。
このようなバインダーとして、例えばカオリン系、ベントナイト系、タルク系、バイロフィライト系、モリサイト系、バーキュロライト系、モンモリロナイト系、クロライト系及びハロイサイト系等の粘土から選ばれる一種以上を挙げることができる。

上記成形体中のバインダー量は、特に制限されないが、優れた加工性を得る上では、粉末状のゼオライト(以下、ゼオライト粉末)100重量部に対して10重量部以上50重量部以下であることが好ましい。
バインダーを使用してゼオライトを成形体にする場合、アルカリ浸漬により成形体中のバインダーをゼオライトに転化(バインダーレス化)することが好ましい。上記バインダーレス化により、ゼオライト成形体中のゼオライト含有比率を増大させることができ、究極的にはゼオライト成形体の全てをゼオライトにすることができる。
バインダーの一部又は全部をバインダーレス化した成形体では、成形体中のゼオライト含有率は95質量%以上であることが好ましく、100質量%であることがより好ましい。成形体中のゼオライト含有率が高いことにより、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液の脱水効率を容易に向上することができる。
上記ゼオライトの成形体形状は特に制限されず、球状、円柱状、三つ葉型、楕円状、中空状等から選ばれる一種以上を適宜選択すればよい。成形体の大きさも特に制限されず、例えば、球状あるいは円柱状の直径として0.1mm~5mm程度であるものを挙げることができる。
本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料を構成する、イオン交換可能な全カチオンの88eq%以上に相当するカチオンがカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトを調製する方法は特に制限されない。
ゼオライト中のイオン交換可能なカチオンをカルシウムイオンに効率的に交換する方法としては、特に制限されないが、例えば、カルシウムイオン水溶液をゼオライトに通過させ、ゼオライト中のナトリウムイオン等のカチオンを水溶液中のカルシウムイオンとイオン交換させて系外に連続的に排出させる、流通式のイオン交換方法が挙げられる。ゼオライト全体のカルシウムイオン交換率を均一にする上では、カルシウムイオン水溶液を循環しつつイオン交換処理することが好ましい。
上記カルシウムイオン水溶液中のカルシウムイオン濃度は特に制限されないが、0.1mol/L以上であることが好ましい。
本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料を構成する、カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトは、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液と接触するに際して、予め水分を除去しておく(ゼオライトを脱水処理しておく)ことが好ましい。
ゼオライトを脱水処理する方法は、ゼオライトから水分が除去される方法及び条件であれば特に制限されない。ゼオライト自体の耐熱性を考慮すれば、可能な限り低温で水分を除去させることが好ましく、乾燥または減圧した雰囲気において600℃以下の温度で1時間~20時間程度熱処理することが好ましい。
ゼオライトを脱水処理する方法は、ゼオライトから水分が除去される方法及び条件であれば特に制限されない。ゼオライト自体の耐熱性を考慮すれば、可能な限り低温で水分を除去させることが好ましく、乾燥または減圧した雰囲気において600℃以下の温度で1時間~20時間程度熱処理することが好ましい。
次に、本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料の使用形態例について説明する。
本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料を構成する、カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライト(係るゼオライトの成形体を含む)は、後述するように、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液と接触させることにより、高度に脱水されるとともに、十分に遊離酸が除去された金属イオン含有非水溶媒を容易に製造することができる。
本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料を構成する、カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライト(係るゼオライトの成形体を含む)は、後述するように、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液と接触させることにより、高度に脱水されるとともに、十分に遊離酸が除去された金属イオン含有非水溶媒を容易に製造することができる。
また、本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料を構成する、カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライト(係るゼオライトの成形体を含む)を、例えば、リチウムイオン電池中に配置することにより、非水電解液中に混入した水分のみならず、正極や負極ないしセパレータに付着した水分についても吸着、除去することができる。
この場合、上記ゼオライトを、リチウムイオン電池を構成する非水電解液中に分散させたり、リチウムイオン電池を構成する正極や負極ないしはセパレータの構成材あるいは付着成分として使用することにより、電池内の水分を除去することができる。

本発明によれば、水分の含有量を低減した金属イオン含有非水溶媒をナトリウムイオン等の残存カチオンの混入を抑制しつつ製造可能な金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料を提供することができる。
次に、本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法について説明する。
本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法は、イオン交換可能な全カチオンの88eq%以上に相当するカチオンがカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料と、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液とを接触させることを特徴とするものである。
本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法は、イオン交換可能な全カチオンの88eq%以上に相当するカチオンがカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料と、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液とを接触させることを特徴とするものである。
本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法において使用する金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料を構成するゼオライトの内容は、本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料の説明で詳述したとおりである。
本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法において、金属イオン含有非水溶媒としては特に制限されないが、非水溶媒に金属イオンを含む電解質が溶解した非水電解液であることが好ましい。
非水電解液を構成する非水溶媒としては、有機非水溶媒が好ましい。
有機非水溶媒としては、エチレンカーボネート、プロピレンカーボネート、ジメチルカーボネート、ジエチルカーボネート、メチルエチルカーボネート、炭酸フルオロエチレン、炭酸ビニレン、酢酸メチル、酢酸エチル、酢酸プロピル、酢酸ブチル、γ-ブチロラクトン、スルホランやジメチルスルホキシド等のスルホラン、1,2-ジメトキシエタン、1,2-ジエトキシエタン、1,2-ジブトキシエタン、エトキシメトキシエタン等から選ばれる一種以上を挙げることができる。
有機非水溶媒としては、エチレンカーボネート、プロピレンカーボネート、ジメチルカーボネート、ジエチルカーボネート、メチルエチルカーボネート、炭酸フルオロエチレン、炭酸ビニレン、酢酸メチル、酢酸エチル、酢酸プロピル、酢酸ブチル、γ-ブチロラクトン、スルホランやジメチルスルホキシド等のスルホラン、1,2-ジメトキシエタン、1,2-ジエトキシエタン、1,2-ジブトキシエタン、エトキシメトキシエタン等から選ばれる一種以上を挙げることができる。
非水電解液を構成する金属イオンを含む電解質としては、アルカリ金属塩電解質を挙げることができる。
アルカリ金属塩電解質としては、リチウム系電解質を挙げることができ、リチウム系電解質としては、LiPF6、LiClO4、LiBF4 、LiAsF6 、LiSbF6 、LiAlCl4 、LiCF3SO3 、LiN(SO2F)2、LiN(SO2CF3)2等から選ばれる一種以上を挙げることができ、電池性能を考慮した場合、LiPF6 が好適である。
本発明に係る非水電解液の製造方法において、非水電解液としては、リチウムイオン電池用電解液が好適である。
アルカリ金属塩電解質としては、リチウム系電解質を挙げることができ、リチウム系電解質としては、LiPF6、LiClO4、LiBF4 、LiAsF6 、LiSbF6 、LiAlCl4 、LiCF3SO3 、LiN(SO2F)2、LiN(SO2CF3)2等から選ばれる一種以上を挙げることができ、電池性能を考慮した場合、LiPF6 が好適である。
本発明に係る非水電解液の製造方法において、非水電解液としては、リチウムイオン電池用電解液が好適である。
本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法において、金属イオン含有非水溶媒(被処理液)は、非水溶媒に金属塩電解質が0.01eq/L以上溶解した非水電解液であることが好ましく、非水溶媒に金属塩電解質が0.05~5.0eq/L溶解した非水電解液であることがより好ましく、非水溶媒に金属塩電解質が0.2~2.0eq/L溶解した非水電解液であることがさらに好ましい。
本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法において、金属イオン含有非水溶媒(被処理液)中の非水電解液がリチウム系電解質を含むものである場合、被処理液中のリチウム系電解質濃度が、0.01~10.0mol/Lであることが好ましく、0.05~5.0mol/Lであることがより好ましく、0.2~2.0mol/Lであることがさらに好ましい。
なお、本出願書類において、金属イオン含有非水溶媒(被処理液)中のリチウム系電解質等のアルカリ金属塩電解質の濃度は、原子吸光光度計(株式会社日立ハイテクサイエンス製、偏光ゼーマン原子吸光光度計 ZA3000)を用い、原子吸光光度法により測定したリチウム金属濃度から求められる値を意味する。
本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法において、カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料と、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液とを接触させる方法は特に制限されない。
例えば、カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料を充填したカラムまたは槽に金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液を流通させる方法、または金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液を収容した槽内にカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料を浸漬して静置または攪拌する方法等を挙げることができる。
カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料を充填したカラムまたは槽に金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液を流通させる場合、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を通液する速度(液空間速度)は、金属イオン含有非水溶媒中の水分を除去し得る速度から適宜選定すればよい。
例えば、カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料を充填したカラムまたは槽に金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液を流通させる方法、または金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液を収容した槽内にカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料を浸漬して静置または攪拌する方法等を挙げることができる。
カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料を充填したカラムまたは槽に金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液を流通させる場合、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を通液する速度(液空間速度)は、金属イオン含有非水溶媒中の水分を除去し得る速度から適宜選定すればよい。
本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法においては、上記カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料に対し、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液を上向流で通液することが好ましい。
例えば、図1に例示するように、本発明に係る金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法においては、金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造装置1を用い、カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料を収容する容器3に対し、原液タンク2に貯蔵された金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液Sを上向流で通液することが好ましい。
このように、容器内に収容されたカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料に対し、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液を上向流で通液することにより、容器内に収容されたゼオライト中に気泡等が混入した場合であっても、被処理液が容器内を上向に流通する際にゼオライト中の気泡を脱泡しながら流通してこれを除去することができる。
このため、容器内に収容されたゼオライト中に気泡等が混入した場合であっても、被処理液とゼオライトとの接触性を好適に維持しながら被処理液中の水分を除去、低減することができる。

本発明によれば、ナトリウムイオン等の残存カチオンの混入を抑制しつつ水分の含有量を低減した金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法を提供することができる。
次に、実施例を挙げて本発明を更に具体的に説明するが、これは単に例示であって、本発明を制限するものではない。
以下の実施例および比較例において、電解液中における、水分濃度、ナトリウムイオン濃度およびカルシウムイオン濃度は、以下の方法で測定した値を意味する。
<電解液中の水分濃度>
カール・フィッシャー法により測定した。
<電解液中のナトリウムイオン濃度およびカルシウムイオン濃度>
原子吸光光度計(日立製作所社製ZA3000)を用いた原子吸光光度法により測定した。
<電解液中の水分濃度>
カール・フィッシャー法により測定した。
<電解液中のナトリウムイオン濃度およびカルシウムイオン濃度>
原子吸光光度計(日立製作所社製ZA3000)を用いた原子吸光光度法により測定した。
また、以下の実施例および比較例において、ゼオライトのナトリウム含有率(質量%)、カルシウム含有率(質量%)およびリチウム含有率(質量%)と、リチウムイオン交換率とは、各々以下の方法で測定した値を意味する。
<ゼオライトのナトリウム含有率、カルシウム含有率およびリチウム含有率>
ゼオライトのナトリウム含有率、カルシウム含有率およびリチウム含有率は、各々、下記ゼオライト中のカチオン種の濃度測定方法により求めた値を意味する。
(ゼオライト中のカチオン種の濃度測定方法)
ゼオライト0.1gに47%フッ化水素酸5mlと60%硝酸20mlを加えて加熱溶解し、次いで、1N硝酸を加えて50mlの溶液とする。この溶液について、誘導結合プラズマ(ICP)発光分光分析装置(パーキンエルマー社製OPTIMA3000DV)を用いて各カチオン種の濃度(質量%)を測定する。
ゼオライトのナトリウム含有率、カルシウム含有率およびリチウム含有率は、各々、下記ゼオライト中のカチオン種の濃度測定方法により求めた値を意味する。
(ゼオライト中のカチオン種の濃度測定方法)
ゼオライト0.1gに47%フッ化水素酸5mlと60%硝酸20mlを加えて加熱溶解し、次いで、1N硝酸を加えて50mlの溶液とする。この溶液について、誘導結合プラズマ(ICP)発光分光分析装置(パーキンエルマー社製OPTIMA3000DV)を用いて各カチオン種の濃度(質量%)を測定する。
<カルシウムイオン交換率>
カルシウムイオン交換率は、下記(I)式により算出される値を意味する。
カルシウムイオン交換率(eq%)={ゼオライト中のカルシウムイオンのモル当量(eq)/ゼオライト中のイオン交換可能な全カチオンのモル当量の合計(eq)}×100 (I)
上記(I)式において、ゼオライト中のイオン交換可能な全カチオンのモル当量の合計(eq)は、上記方法(ゼオライト中のカチオン種の濃度測定方法)で測定されるゼオライト中のカチオン種の濃度から各カチオン種の含有量を算出した上で求められる、カルシウムイオンとナトリウムイオンのモル当量の合計(eq)を意味する。
また、上記(I)式において、ゼオライト中のカルシウムイオンのモル当量(eq)は、上記方法で測定されるゼオライト中のカチオン種の濃度から各カチオン種の含有量を算出した上で求められる、カルシウムイオンのモル当量(eq)を意味する。
カルシウムイオン交換率は、下記(I)式により算出される値を意味する。
カルシウムイオン交換率(eq%)={ゼオライト中のカルシウムイオンのモル当量(eq)/ゼオライト中のイオン交換可能な全カチオンのモル当量の合計(eq)}×100 (I)
上記(I)式において、ゼオライト中のイオン交換可能な全カチオンのモル当量の合計(eq)は、上記方法(ゼオライト中のカチオン種の濃度測定方法)で測定されるゼオライト中のカチオン種の濃度から各カチオン種の含有量を算出した上で求められる、カルシウムイオンとナトリウムイオンのモル当量の合計(eq)を意味する。
また、上記(I)式において、ゼオライト中のカルシウムイオンのモル当量(eq)は、上記方法で測定されるゼオライト中のカチオン種の濃度から各カチオン種の含有量を算出した上で求められる、カルシウムイオンのモル当量(eq)を意味する。
<リチウムイオン交換率>
リチウムイオン交換率は、下記(II)式により算出される値を意味する。
リチウムイオン交換率(eq%)={ゼオライト中のリチウムイオンのモル当量(eq)/ゼオライト中のイオン交換可能な全カチオンのモル当量の合計(eq)}×100 (II)
上記(II)式において、ゼオライト中のイオン交換可能な全カチオンのモル当量の合計(eq)は、上記方法(ゼオライト中のカチオン種の濃度測定方法)で測定されるゼオライト中のカチオン種の濃度から各カチオン種の含有量を算出した上で求められる、リチウムイオンとナトリウムイオンのモル当量の合計(eq)を意味する。
また、上記(II)式において、ゼオライト中のリチウムイオンのモル当量(eq)は、上記方法で測定されるゼオライト中のカチオン種の濃度から各カチオン種の含有量を算出した上で求められる、リチウムイオンのモル当量(eq)を意味する。
リチウムイオン交換率は、下記(II)式により算出される値を意味する。
リチウムイオン交換率(eq%)={ゼオライト中のリチウムイオンのモル当量(eq)/ゼオライト中のイオン交換可能な全カチオンのモル当量の合計(eq)}×100 (II)
上記(II)式において、ゼオライト中のイオン交換可能な全カチオンのモル当量の合計(eq)は、上記方法(ゼオライト中のカチオン種の濃度測定方法)で測定されるゼオライト中のカチオン種の濃度から各カチオン種の含有量を算出した上で求められる、リチウムイオンとナトリウムイオンのモル当量の合計(eq)を意味する。
また、上記(II)式において、ゼオライト中のリチウムイオンのモル当量(eq)は、上記方法で測定されるゼオライト中のカチオン種の濃度から各カチオン種の含有量を算出した上で求められる、リチウムイオンのモル当量(eq)を意味する。
(実施例1)
<カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトの調製>
ナトリウムA型ゼオライト100重量部にカオリン粘土25重量部、CMC(カルボキシメチルセルロース)4重量部と水を混合混練後、1.0~2.0mmの球状成形体とした。成形体は乾燥した後、箱形炉を使用して600℃で3時間焼成した。
焼成した成形体をカラムに充填して、6%の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を80℃で流通させて粘土をA型ゼオライトへ転換した(バインダーレス化)。バインダーレス化の成形体は、95%以上がゼオライトであった。
引き続き、カラム内の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を水洗して除去した後、ゼオライト成形体のカルシウムイオン交換を行った。カルシウムイオン交換は0.2規定の塩化カルシウム水溶液を60℃でワンパスで流通してゼオライトと塩化カルシウム水溶液とを接触させた後、最終的に塩化カルシウム水溶液を循環させることにより、ゼオライト成形体中のカルシウムイオン交換率を均質化し、カルシウムイオン交換率が94eq%であるA型ゼオライト(本発明の金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料)を調製した。
カルシウムイオン交換後のゼオライト成形体は水洗、乾燥した後、500℃で3時間焼成してゼオライトの脱水処理を行った。
<カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトの調製>
ナトリウムA型ゼオライト100重量部にカオリン粘土25重量部、CMC(カルボキシメチルセルロース)4重量部と水を混合混練後、1.0~2.0mmの球状成形体とした。成形体は乾燥した後、箱形炉を使用して600℃で3時間焼成した。
焼成した成形体をカラムに充填して、6%の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を80℃で流通させて粘土をA型ゼオライトへ転換した(バインダーレス化)。バインダーレス化の成形体は、95%以上がゼオライトであった。
引き続き、カラム内の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を水洗して除去した後、ゼオライト成形体のカルシウムイオン交換を行った。カルシウムイオン交換は0.2規定の塩化カルシウム水溶液を60℃でワンパスで流通してゼオライトと塩化カルシウム水溶液とを接触させた後、最終的に塩化カルシウム水溶液を循環させることにより、ゼオライト成形体中のカルシウムイオン交換率を均質化し、カルシウムイオン交換率が94eq%であるA型ゼオライト(本発明の金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料)を調製した。
カルシウムイオン交換後のゼオライト成形体は水洗、乾燥した後、500℃で3時間焼成してゼオライトの脱水処理を行った。
(実施例2)
<カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトの調製>
ナトリウムA型ゼオライト100重量部にカオリン粘土25重量部、CMC(カルボキシメチルセルロース)4重量部と水を混合混練後、1.0~2.0mmの球状成形体とした。成形体は乾燥した後、箱形炉を使用して600℃で3時間焼成した。
焼成した成形体をカラムに充填して、6%の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を80℃で流通させて粘土をA型ゼオライトへ転換した(バインダーレス化)。バインダーレス化の成形体は、95%以上がゼオライトであった。
引き続き、カラム内の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を水洗して除去した後、ゼオライト成形体のカルシウムイオン交換を行った。カルシウムイオン交換は0.2規定の塩化カルシウム水溶液を60℃でワンパスで流通してゼオライトと塩化カルシウム水溶液とを接触させた後、最終的に塩化カルシウム水溶液を循環させることにより、ゼオライト成形体中のカルシウムイオン交換率を均質化し、カルシウムイオン交換率が91eq%であるA型ゼオライト(本発明の金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料)を調製した。
カルシウムイオン交換後のゼオライト成形体は水洗、乾燥した後、500℃で3時間焼成してゼオライトの脱水処理を行った。
<カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトの調製>
ナトリウムA型ゼオライト100重量部にカオリン粘土25重量部、CMC(カルボキシメチルセルロース)4重量部と水を混合混練後、1.0~2.0mmの球状成形体とした。成形体は乾燥した後、箱形炉を使用して600℃で3時間焼成した。

引き続き、カラム内の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を水洗して除去した後、ゼオライト成形体のカルシウムイオン交換を行った。カルシウムイオン交換は0.2規定の塩化カルシウム水溶液を60℃でワンパスで流通してゼオライトと塩化カルシウム水溶液とを接触させた後、最終的に塩化カルシウム水溶液を循環させることにより、ゼオライト成形体中のカルシウムイオン交換率を均質化し、カルシウムイオン交換率が91eq%であるA型ゼオライト(本発明の金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料)を調製した。
カルシウムイオン交換後のゼオライト成形体は水洗、乾燥した後、500℃で3時間焼成してゼオライトの脱水処理を行った。
(製造例1)
<リチウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトの調製>
ナトリウムA型ゼオライト100重量部にカオリン粘土25重量部、CMC(カルボキシメチルセルロース)4重量部と水を混合混練し、1.0~2.0mmの球状成形体とした。成形体は乾燥した後、箱形炉を使用して600℃で3時間焼成した。
焼成した成形体をカラムに充填して、6%の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を80℃で流通させて粘土をA型ゼオライトへ転換した(バインダーレス化)。バインダーレス化の成形体は、95%以上がゼオライトであった。
引き続き、カラム内の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を水洗して除去した後、ゼオライト成形体のリチウムイオン交換を行った。リチウムイオン交換は15倍当量の4mol/Lの塩化リチウム水溶液を80℃でワンパスで流通してゼオライトと塩化リチウム水溶液とを接触させた。これにより、ゼオライト成形体中のリチウムイオン交換率を均質化した。リチウムイオン交換後のゼオライト成形体は水洗を行い、70℃で乾燥した後、500℃で3時間焼成してゼオライトの脱水処理を行った。
得られたリチウムイオン交換A型ゼオライト成形体のリチウムイオン交換率は99eq%であった。
<リチウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトの調製>
ナトリウムA型ゼオライト100重量部にカオリン粘土25重量部、CMC(カルボキシメチルセルロース)4重量部と水を混合混練し、1.0~2.0mmの球状成形体とした。成形体は乾燥した後、箱形炉を使用して600℃で3時間焼成した。
焼成した成形体をカラムに充填して、6%の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を80℃で流通させて粘土をA型ゼオライトへ転換した(バインダーレス化)。バインダーレス化の成形体は、95%以上がゼオライトであった。
引き続き、カラム内の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を水洗して除去した後、ゼオライト成形体のリチウムイオン交換を行った。リチウムイオン交換は15倍当量の4mol/Lの塩化リチウム水溶液を80℃でワンパスで流通してゼオライトと塩化リチウム水溶液とを接触させた。これにより、ゼオライト成形体中のリチウムイオン交換率を均質化した。リチウムイオン交換後のゼオライト成形体は水洗を行い、70℃で乾燥した後、500℃で3時間焼成してゼオライトの脱水処理を行った。
得られたリチウムイオン交換A型ゼオライト成形体のリチウムイオン交換率は99eq%であった。
(製造例2)
<カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトの調製>
ナトリウムA型ゼオライト100重量部にカオリン粘土25重量部、CMC(カルボキシメチルセルロース)4重量部と水を混合混練後、1.0~2.0mmの球状成形体とした。成形体は乾燥した後、箱形炉を使用して600℃で3時間焼成した。
焼成した成形体をカラムに充填して、6%の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を80℃で流通させて粘土をA型ゼオライトへ転換した(バインダーレス化)。バインダーレス化の成形体は、95%以上がゼオライトであった。
引き続き、カラム内の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を水洗して除去した後、ゼオライト成形体のカルシウムイオン交換を行った。カルシウムイオン交換は0.2規定の塩化カルシウム水溶液を60℃でワンパスで流通してゼオライトと塩化カルシウム水溶液とを接触させた後、最終的に塩化カルシウム水溶液を循環させることにより、ゼオライト成形体中のカルシウムイオン交換率を均質化し、カルシウムイオン交換率が86eq%であるA型ゼオライトを調製した。
カルシウムイオン交換後のゼオライト成形体は水洗、乾燥した後、500℃で3時間焼成してゼオライトの脱水処理を行った。
<カルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトの調製>
ナトリウムA型ゼオライト100重量部にカオリン粘土25重量部、CMC(カルボキシメチルセルロース)4重量部と水を混合混練後、1.0~2.0mmの球状成形体とした。成形体は乾燥した後、箱形炉を使用して600℃で3時間焼成した。

引き続き、カラム内の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を水洗して除去した後、ゼオライト成形体のカルシウムイオン交換を行った。カルシウムイオン交換は0.2規定の塩化カルシウム水溶液を60℃でワンパスで流通してゼオライトと塩化カルシウム水溶液とを接触させた後、最終的に塩化カルシウム水溶液を循環させることにより、ゼオライト成形体中のカルシウムイオン交換率を均質化し、カルシウムイオン交換率が86eq%であるA型ゼオライトを調製した。
カルシウムイオン交換後のゼオライト成形体は水洗、乾燥した後、500℃で3時間焼成してゼオライトの脱水処理を行った。
(実施例3)
図1に示す金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造装置1を用いてリチウムイオン電池用電解液を調製した。
すなわち、先ず、図1に示すように、金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造装置(リチウムイオン電池用電解液の製造装置)1において、容器3内に実施例1で得られたカルシウムイオン交換率が94eq%であるA型ゼオライト(金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料)を収容した。
被処理液Sとして、原液タンク2中に貯蔵した、エチレンカーボネート(EC)およびジメチルカーボネート(DMC)を体積比で1:1の割合で混合した混合溶媒に、LiPF6が1mol/Lとなるように溶解した、水分濃度が40質量ppmでナトリウムイオン濃度が1質量ppm未満である被処理液1kg(0.8L)を、ポンプPを用いて上記容器3中のゼオライト20mlに対して5(L/L-ゼオライト)/hの流量で上向流で通液し、通液処理した処理液(電解液)を回収タンク4内に貯蔵した。
通液開始1時間後に処理液(電解液)を分取し、得られた電解液中の水分濃度、ナトリウムイオン濃度およびカルシウムイオン濃度を測定した。結果を表1に示す。
図1に示す金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造装置1を用いてリチウムイオン電池用電解液を調製した。
すなわち、先ず、図1に示すように、金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造装置(リチウムイオン電池用電解液の製造装置)1において、容器3内に実施例1で得られたカルシウムイオン交換率が94eq%であるA型ゼオライト(金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料)を収容した。
被処理液Sとして、原液タンク2中に貯蔵した、エチレンカーボネート(EC)およびジメチルカーボネート(DMC)を体積比で1:1の割合で混合した混合溶媒に、LiPF6が1mol/Lとなるように溶解した、水分濃度が40質量ppmでナトリウムイオン濃度が1質量ppm未満である被処理液1kg(0.8L)を、ポンプPを用いて上記容器3中のゼオライト20mlに対して5(L/L-ゼオライト)/hの流量で上向流で通液し、通液処理した処理液(電解液)を回収タンク4内に貯蔵した。
通液開始1時間後に処理液(電解液)を分取し、得られた電解液中の水分濃度、ナトリウムイオン濃度およびカルシウムイオン濃度を測定した。結果を表1に示す。
(実施例4)
カルシウムイオン交換率が94eq%であるA型ゼオライトに代えて、実施例2で得られたカルシウムイオン交換率が91eq%であるA型ゼオライトを用いた以外は、実施例3と同様に処理してリチウムイオン電池用電解液を得た。
得られた電解液中の水分濃度、ナトリウムイオン濃度およびカルシウムイオン濃度を測定した。結果を表1に示す。
カルシウムイオン交換率が94eq%であるA型ゼオライトに代えて、実施例2で得られたカルシウムイオン交換率が91eq%であるA型ゼオライトを用いた以外は、実施例3と同様に処理してリチウムイオン電池用電解液を得た。
得られた電解液中の水分濃度、ナトリウムイオン濃度およびカルシウムイオン濃度を測定した。結果を表1に示す。
(比較例1)
カルシウムイオン交換率が94eq%であるA型ゼオライトに代えて、製造例1で得られたリチウムイオンでイオン交換したリチウムイオン交換率が99eq%であるA型ゼオライト(イオン交換可能な全カチオンのモル当量のうち99eq%に相当するカチオンがリチウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライト)を用いた以外は、実施例3と同様に処理してリチウムイオン電池用電解液を得た。
得られた電解液中の水分濃度、ナトリウムイオン濃度およびカルシウムイオン濃度を測定した。結果を表1に示す。
カルシウムイオン交換率が94eq%であるA型ゼオライトに代えて、製造例1で得られたリチウムイオンでイオン交換したリチウムイオン交換率が99eq%であるA型ゼオライト(イオン交換可能な全カチオンのモル当量のうち99eq%に相当するカチオンがリチウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライト)を用いた以外は、実施例3と同様に処理してリチウムイオン電池用電解液を得た。
得られた電解液中の水分濃度、ナトリウムイオン濃度およびカルシウムイオン濃度を測定した。結果を表1に示す。
(比較例2)
カルシウムイオン交換率が94eq%であるA型ゼオライトに代えて、製造例2で得られたカルシウムイオン交換率が86eq%であるA型ゼオライトを用いた以外は、実施例3と同様に処理してリチウムイオン電池用電解液を得た。
得られた電解液中の水分濃度、ナトリウムイオン濃度およびカルシウムイオン濃度を測定した。結果を表1に示す。
カルシウムイオン交換率が94eq%であるA型ゼオライトに代えて、製造例2で得られたカルシウムイオン交換率が86eq%であるA型ゼオライトを用いた以外は、実施例3と同様に処理してリチウムイオン電池用電解液を得た。
得られた電解液中の水分濃度、ナトリウムイオン濃度およびカルシウムイオン濃度を測定した。結果を表1に示す。
表1より、実施例3及び実施例4においては、イオン交換可能な全カチオンの88eq%以上に相当するカチオンがカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトを用いて被処理液を処理していることから、ゼオライト中に残存するナトリウムイオンの溶出だけでなく、カルシウムイオンの溶出をも抑制しつつ、水分濃度を40質量ppmから10質量ppm未満に低減したリチウムイオン電池用電解液を製造し得ることが分かる。
一方、比較例1及び比較例2においては、カルシウムイオンではなくリチウムイオンで交換したゼオライトを用いていたり(比較例1)、カルシウムイオン交換率が86eq%であるゼオライトを用いている(比較例2)ために、ゼオライト中に残存するナトリウムイオンの溶出を十分に抑制し得ないことが分かる。
また、実施例3および比較例1を比較すると、カルシウムイオンでイオン交換したゼオライト(実施例1)は、リチウムイオンでイオン交換したゼオライト(比較例1)よりもナトリウム含有率が高いにも関わらず、ナトリウムイオンの溶出量が低いことからカルシウムイオンでイオン交換したゼオライト(実施例3)がナトリウムイオンの溶出を抑制する特異的な効果を有することが分かる。
このため、リチウムイオンでイオン交換したゼオライトよりもカルシウムイオンでイオン交換したゼオライトの方がよりナトリウムイオン含有量の少ないリチウムイオン電池用電解液を製造し得ることが分かる。
このため、リチウムイオンでイオン交換したゼオライトよりもカルシウムイオンでイオン交換したゼオライトの方がよりナトリウムイオン含有量の少ないリチウムイオン電池用電解液を製造し得ることが分かる。
本発明によれば、水分の含有量を低減した金属イオン含有非水溶媒をナトリウムイオン等の残存カチオンの混入を抑制しつつ製造可能な金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料および金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法を提供することができる。

Claims (5)
- イオン交換可能な全カチオンの88eq%以上に相当するカチオンがカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなることを特徴とする金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料。
- イオン交換可能な全カチオンの88eq%以上に相当するカチオンがカルシウムイオンによりイオン交換されたゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料と、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液とを接触させることを特徴とする金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法。
- 前記金属イオン含有非水溶媒が非水溶媒に金属塩電解質が0.01eq/L以上溶解した非水電解液である請求項2に記載の金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法。
- 前記ゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料に対し、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液を上向流で通液する請求項2に記載の金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法。
- 前記ゼオライトからなる金属イオン含有非水溶媒製造材料に対し、金属イオン含有非水溶媒を含む被処理液を上向流で通液する請求項3に記載の金属イオン含有非水溶媒の製造方法。
